1 Dishes, Dishes, and Look! More Dishes...

I wake up from her dreams by her annoying alarm clock. I had had a strange dream anyway, part of it almost scared me. I was watching four children drown me favorite character from Lord of the Rings, Haldir. All I was doing was laughing as it happened. The dream made me feel like I am sadistic and maniacal.

I get dressed in her work uniform, a retro-style outfit, and brush my teeth. I work full-time at a retro-themed diner. The female employees have to wear pink, calf-length skirt, a white blouse, and some short heels. I hate the uniform, but the diner pays well, so I stay there.

After I got to work, I put on her apron. I have no idea why I, as the dish-washer who stays in the kitchen, have to wear the fancy uniform. Whatever the reason may be, I put the outfit on every morn anyway.

As I start washing the dishes, my best friend, Jemma, walks up.

"Hey Liv!" Jem greets, "How'd ya sleep?"

"Well," I pause, "Y'know Halidr from Lord of the Rings, right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Four kids were drowning him in my dream..."

"Ummmmmm."

"I know, but I just stood there, laughing. I felt like I was slightly sadistic."

"Well, I think you need to get out of the house," She changed the subject, "You are a legal cosmetologist who washes dishes for a living."

"And it helps!" I defend herself, "I already own my own house!"

"EXACTLY! No twenty-one year-old has already bought their own house," Jem points out, "Anyway, I bought us tickets for a 'Meet the Stars' event on Spider-man; Far From Home. You're going there whether you like it or not."

"Uh yeah," I reply, "If you had bought me tickets for a movie that I disliked, I'd go. That's what friends are for, right?"

"Encouraging the pointless waste of money, while allowing your friend to freeload off you?" She summarized, "Yes, exactly. Keep it up! Anyway, I'll tell you more about the tickets when you get home. Boss won't 'appreash' if we chat all day.."

"Yeah," I agree, "Can't wait to hear more."

I grab my phone as Jem walks away. I put in my earbuds, and start playing my Spotify playlist. Then, I resume washing dishes.

Hours later, and halfway through my playlist, I get off work. When I get home, Jem is waiting on the couch, ready to explain about the tickets.

"Hey hey! Basically, we'll have all day to talk to the different stars of Spider-man. The event starts at 10:00 am, and ends at 5:00 pm. They serve brunch foods ALL DAY. We'll have a blast! There probably won't be too many people there either. These tickets costed wayyyy too much. I had to borrow money from Mom."

Jem came from a very rich family, her parents said that they would loan her money for recreational things, so that she didn't waste all her savings. They made it clear though, that she'd have to pay for her own "life changing" things, like college or housing.

"How much?"

"Three thousand."

"WHAT!?!?!?! That is more than the cost of my first car combined with my current life savings..."

"That's because you spent it all on a house."

"So? That just means I'm responsible."

"I know, I know."
