Definitely not me thinking this is supposed to be the norm.

Tokyo, Japan,

Shibuya,

Samuel POV,

Samuel stopped short just a few feet off from the door, his gaze locked on what was probably an antique his father had. Ren simply stared at his son, did he want something else?

The silver haired teenager had his eyes fixed on a katana placed over a pedestal, it's black sheath was also placed right by it's side. The blade had shimmered from the sunlight striking it, it's hilt had gold designs over it, a tag hung from the bottom... The tag itself was rather strange, one of those things one would see on 'exorcists'. At the same time, a type of sling was also attached to the sheathe.. maybe for ease in carrying it around.

Ren, who had already noticed his gaze, made a decision right there and then, "You can have it."

"Eh, I didn't even ask though..." Samuel had a small awkward smile on his face, he was having some rather spiteful thoughts and the blade was something he could use... That was about it, he didn't care about the fact it looked expensive or beautiful.

However, Ren didn't reply. He was simply silent, the man didn't take no for an answer and to him, the gift he had already given wasn't enough compensation.

"How would I even carry it?" Samuel asked jokingly, he didn't expect him to carry the thing around right?

"....." Ren was again silent, what was wrong with just carrying the thing around? Martial Arts of the armed category were a fairly common practice here, carrying them around wasn't illegal or even frowned upon. Just using them for things other than self defence was a crime... which, no shit it was.

"...." Samuel was somewhat speechless, however he didn't refute his father's words and walked over to the sword. Picking it up without much thought, he quickly placed it in the sheathe before slinging it over his back. He ran his gaze over the multiple other weapons placed around the office before bowing his head, "I'll take my leave then."

Ren slightly waved his hand, wait a second.... If they were changing schools, it would be ideal for him to start next week.. Was it perhaps time for a family vacation?!

Samuel walked out the elevator with a small smile on his face, that had gone better than expected to be honest. He felt like his relationship with his father had improved too, even if slightly.

It was never bad in the first place.

'Why did you take the sword? It doesn't have one of those cliche special powers.'

".....It's a tool." Samuel replied calmly, he had an intense desire to do a certain thing now and for said thing, he needed an actual sword.

The receptionist, earlier having treated Samuel like a rando, was startled by his presence, quickly jumping to her feet before bowing her head over and over again, "I-I'm sorry for my behaviour, sir!" Her voice cracked from nervousness. It wouldn't be a surprise if she lost her job over this right?! Of course, it wasn't really her fault that she didn't recognise someone who hadn't been introduced but the world didn't work that way.

"It's alright, not your fault." Samuel waved off her worries with a smile, being reasonable was an amazing trait to have. A trait he tried to imitate but couldn't always show, or even understand at times.

The receptionist's eyes widened for a few moments before she bowed her head once more, with more vigour than before, "Thank you, sir!" Her tone respectful and grateful, she relieved that he wasn't a stuck up asshole.

Samuel had an awkward smile on his face, it was rather strange to be referred to in such a manner.

"Can you have someone lead me to the underground parking lot?" Samuel asked .. though, to the receptionist it was more an order than anything, "Of course, sir." She pressed something behind the counter, calling for one of the low ranking staff. She didn't dare to sit down in his presence.. although, even she had to admit, the Hayes could probably be models... only they had no need to be.

Her gaze wandered to the sword slung over his back causing her to subconsciously nod in appreciation, it appeared that all of them had interest in martial arts as well.

A few minutes later, a man in a black suit ran over hurriedly, his breathing was slightly laboured indicating that he had probably run the way here. He placed a hand behind his head before bowing, "I apologise for taking long."

"..." Samuel's smile was yet to falter.... maybe seeing people like this wasn't too bad..

'.....' Echidna felt she needed to smack her contractor.

"Please show this gentleman to the parking lot, be respectful." The receptionist 'ordered' the man in a stern manner, she wasn't exactly dumb. It was possible the heir apparent was supposed to be a matter of secrecy for now.

The man nodded, before showing Samuel the way.

Samuel's eyes held slight appreciation in them, the parking lot was.... quite literally under the building itself, a section of the road was tilted and went down. Of course the elevator inside the building was also one way to access it.

It was fully lit and had numerous thick pillars supporting the ceiling, what's more was that it had several levels even underground and that, was certainly impressive. This however, brought up another question, just how long did it take to build such an impressive building?

"You're free to leave now." Samuel tapped his guide's shoulder with a small smile, the man had done more than enough for him after all. "I'll leave you to it then, sir." He bowed politely before hurrying off, clearly he had other duties to attend to.

Samuel pulled out the keys from his pocket before realisation hit him, how was he supposed to locate the thing? It wasn't some car that would make noise upon hitting a button.

'You can add one yourself you know.' Echidna reminded, having all the knowledge he had, she knew more than enough about how the modern world worked.

Samuel noted that he needed to buy a pair of earphones to make sure that he didn't look like a madman when conversing with the witch, "...Isn't this what voodoo stuff is for?" Samuel asked curiously, walking around in search of the motorbike.

'Magic is a combat oriented system... Why do you think it's for such tasks?' Echidna huffed, as a magic caster she was offended that he was looking down on it.

Samuel shrugged, he believed in martial arts supremacy.

'A mage could defeat you though..'

"Can a mage survive a punch to the face?"

'Can you survive a nuke?'

"I think, yes."

'That's not part of martial arts though.'

"The question was directed towards me."

Samuel smiled, he was definitely walking off a nuke.

'....' Echidna went silent, in truth it was undeniable that magic was convenient for 'such tasks', she could easily locate his bike with a spell only, there was no mana in the air to use and Samuel didn't have any either.

The only way left was to search for it himself and search he did.

Leaning forward, Samuel started running all the while running his gaze over everything inside and there were a lot of 'things' inside.

A few minutes passed and now, Samuel could be seen standing next to a motorbike, a smile on his face. The teenager radiated excitement, no matter how old a man was, there were certain things that would make him jump like a child and for Samuel, this was one of those things.

He carefully circled it, as if he had been given the most precious thing in the world. The bike had a black body, red lines running across the edges adding to it's aesthetic appeal.

'It's just a vehicle.'

Samuel drew a sharp breath, "You take that back."

'Make me.'

Samuel smiled, did she think he wouldn't do it?

"I order you to take those words back."

'.....I...the Witch of Greed, Echidna.... take my words... back.'

Samuel smiled in satisfaction, he would never compromise on certain things.

'Meanie....' Echidna pouted, folding her arms, did he have to do it?

Samuel simply ignored the witch, crouching down near the bike, he tapped it's body, "A Grade 9 Titanium Body.... Possibly the lightest motorbike made.. NCR Corse Engine.. Titanium Valves... This is a thing of beauty..." He hugged the bike like it was a person he loved.... It was his dream to get one of these things..

....His respect and love for Ren reached new heights at that moment.

'I know all this anyway... You don't have to list it out.'

"Can it."

The Witch of Greed sulked, what kind of ..... why did he not do that for-... why did he have to react in such a way to a bike of all things!?

Share thoughts please.

Samuel's love for hand to hand combat remains unchanged.

The sword is something he took in order to test out a theory of his.

Said theory basically revolves around using a medium for his physical prowess, intent/desire, and pure skill to see just what he can pull off that way.
