2 Surreal and Breathtaking

When the elevator arrived at the 5th floor, Chu Lian was quite surprised that the place looked…normal. She was expecting to see more gaudy and loud design but what was in front of her is so ordinary. Well, ordinary doesn't really seem to fit as it still looks stylish but not as much as the lobby; the fifth floor has a minimalist feel to it. "Maybe they ran out of budget?" Chu Lian laughed at her silly thoughts.

She walked along the corridor and there are only few people passing by carrying boxes with random stuffs on it. "Phew, at least the normal staff wear normal clothes." She sighed to herself and continued walking.

There seem to only have 6 studios in this floor and studio 10 was at the very end of the corridor facing a door that has a number 9 on it. "It seems to be Studio 9." Chu Lian stated the obvious in her head.

She didn't knock as the receptionist told her to just quietly enter the room, and so she did as what she was told. Little did Chu Lian know that opening the door to Studio 10 would also be opening to the world of magic that would change her entire life.

When she got inside the room, nobody noticed her arrival. She didn't mind though; she saw that the around twenty people in the room were circling around a man and a woman in the center. Chu Lian went closer to tell someone about her food delivery but before she could speak, she heard a loud shout from the man in the center.

"Why do you not care?!" the man shouted. The woman, who was sitting on a bed, just glanced at him with an indifferent gaze. When Chu Lian saw the blank face of the woman, she was struck.

Silence surrounded the room. Even Chu Lian would not dare break it. A few seconds later, the man let out an exasperated sigh and closed his eyes trying to prevent his tears from rolling down. He clenched his fist as he stared at the woman with eyes full of longing, contempt, and a hint of being wronged.

Then, the man sang in a soft voice as tears flowed out from his eyes and music softly played,

"Can you see it?

The tears in my eye

I'm blurred by the colors of life

What ever happened to our love?"

The woman bitterly smiled and slowly raised her head then looked at the man and sang back at him,

"Can you see it?

The smile on my lip

It is miserable to keep it up

What ever happened to our love?"

Both the man and the woman then sang together in perfect harmony,

"Our moment of happiness was gone

Our place of heaven become so cold

What ever happened to our love?"

"We are but an illusion.

If love is all about suffering

Then I don't want anymore love." The woman sang.

"We are not an illusion," the man sang with a choked voice.

"If love is all about suffering

Then I would suffer alone for love."

The woman shook her head and said to man, "Leave, let's not have anything to do with each other anymore." She then turned around away from him.

The man looked at the woman with complicated gaze and forced himself to walk out the door.

Another deafening silence was heard in the room and after a few seconds, a sob from a female crew member broke it. Then, a round of applause was given to the actors with some of the female staffs wailing and exclaiming how tear-jerker the scene was.

"Marvelous!" a man in blue shirt loudly exclaimed, "we could expect a full house just from you two alone."

"You're exaggerating, Director Go." The woman smiled at the director's compliment. Her indifferent look from earlier vanished completely and was replaced by a warm like the sun smile.

"Lu jie, you and Chen ge were really amazing. We really felt your heartaches." A young woman butted in the conversation followed by the other people's comments. Another person said, "Aiya, you really looked perfect together on stage even though the scene was tragic." Han Lulu lightly blushed at that comment and took a peek at her co-actor, Feng Chen, who now have a wide grin as if he wasn't the one who cried on the rehearsal earlier.

"We were only doing our job." Han Lulu lightly replied, not denying anything. Feng Chen just lightly smiled and drank the water his assistant gave him. The other girls quietly squeled at the ambiguous atmosphere of the two lead actors.

"Has the food arrived yet?" Feng Chen asked his assistant with a low voice but was somehow heard by everyone in the room.

Especially Chu Lian who just snapped out of her daze. She felt like she was in the scene just now; it was surreal and breathtaking. It was like her soul was taken out of her body and joined the two actors, and even till now, her heart' s still beating loudly.

She looked at the person who asked for the food, it was the actor from earlier. Chu Lian calmed herself down and put up her professional smile.

She stepped away from the crowd carrying her big box of food and said, "Hi, I'm from Happy Chicken Restaurant food delivery."
