THE MYSTERIOUS MAN

The woman suddenly realized her existence when her senses started working. Firstly, she shook her right hand and put it over her head as flashes of all the incidents came fast forward in her mind. How she was chasing away by feral, how she bumped into vampire woman, how she hid behind woods, how the woman caught her and feral killed the woman. She recalled everything in a sequence; after that how the feral started toward her and how to protect her life she climbed a tree that was proven to be her biggest mistake as she got encircled with feral or vampire fighting for her to be their prey. She prayed to god to send some angel to protect her and so all the citizens. The memories afterward fade as it was blur. She knew that somehow she fell down to earth and it took some time for her to realize that she was really alive. Her realization made her open the eyes slowly after putting down her hand. Before opening her eyes blink sometimes so to adjust with light. In an instinct she rises, looked left and right and found no one. She was in a big hall where she was lying in the middle on a big sofa. There were a glass table with a fruit basket on its top and three more small sofas. The furniture was of high quality and it all looked so clean. The glass was shining purely as lake's water. In her left there was a grand staircase and in her right far on a raised floor installed large luxurious dining table with beautiful and comfortable chairs. In its end there was a door to the kitchen. There was a side table besides the big sofa where stood an expensive big statue of white marble picturing an emperor with a sword in hand mounted on a horse with pride. The girl stood up and surveys the room as she was anxious about the place. There was a window at the wall in front of her face. She doesn't remember what had happened and how she fell from tree. She pressurizes on the memories and finally her mind showed her blurry visions of the man's arrival. Now she said to herself:

Oh! So that man saved and carries me here. Is it his home? Maybe. But why so empty here? And if it is his home where was he? Whether I am safe or in some more horrifying danger? Well! If he was about to kill me he can easily do it there but I am alive. So, I think it's safe. He was just helping but how can I trust a stranger in this terrible night.

She was confused as there was no one in the sight. She made her way to the window and peeped out of it. The mass destruction continues as she saw the same familiar scene of vampires and feral attacking one another and destroying humans in middle. She was not in her senses from about fifteen minutes. Not much time had passed but the ruin increased rapidly. Woodsow was burning and there were several screams repeatedly for help or for mercy. Unable to hold she turned her head inside. She went towards dining table inspecting the place. She suddenly hears some sounds and looked towards the door. She went inside to see some servants preparing the food. She tried to recognize that they were all humans. Yes they were. So she decided to talk. She found a lady who was preparing a dish in a pan. The woman was hungry and hence, she started the conversation with asking her about the dish. She told her that this was the favorite dish of the master of the house. The maid was talking to her without any hesitation so she decided to ask her about the master. She asked;

So, your master sounds like a he is very choosy about the food. His house is very grand. Indeed he is very rich but in this city especially in this night nothing seems normal. And this is absolutely dangerous to go out from this safe house to some street where monsters are creating havoc. Who is he? And is he not afraid?

The maid replied;

Yes, he is very rich in money or at heart too. He is very brave and generous. He goes out to protect people like you from the monsters as you say. In this horrifying night when everyone is shivering with fear he goes out to hunt feral and vampires or to protect humans. And about the grand house it is well known to everybody here. Didn't you listen anything about it?

The girl was very impressed. She thought that she was right about being in the safe house. She suddenly remembered about peeping through the window and in less time she understood that she was in the famous mansion at the street of hawl which was the glory of the city. She got very excited about the fact that she really was able to saw it from inside. Her heart starts jumping and she took a glance at everything once again. Her eyes widened at its luxury. The carpet of staircase, the furniture, the floor, the tiles on wall, the utensils used in the kitchen all were quite a treat to one's eyes. Although she thought that even that mysterious man was something who saved her life and also protecting everyone he can. After admiring the mansion she once again came back to the kitchen and considering the maid lucky to work here she ask her that from how much time she was working here. Her reply left her shocked. She said that she was here just from two hours when her master saved her. As she can't go anywhere so she decided to serve her savior and all the people in her sight were doing the same. By hearing this girl decided to serve him too. She thought it to be a kind of returning the favor. But the maid suggested her to ask the master of the house for it. She can work here only if he allow. So, she went out of kitchen and makes herself comfortable on the same sofa waiting for the man to return from his hunt.

After half an hour she was startled with the sound of door and footsteps coming forward. She lifted her head up and saw the very same tall man- her knight. She at once stood up. In the very first sight she got mesmerized with his charm and looked at him without even blinking her eyes. She felt attracted and also lost herself in his mysterious eyes. He was in the same attire and looked dashing as always. But the feeling was mutual as he also could not be able to move his eyes from her. Both were looking straight in each other's eyes deeply.

Their reverie was interrupted by a maid who served him some drink or snacks. He seated himself on the sofa and signed the girl to do the same. She sat down without moving her eyes off like, she was hypnotized by him. The maid told him that the girl also wanted to serve her in every possible way and then she left. He asked the girl about her health and she only nodded in response. There was something about his man that she was not able to utter a single word in front of him. She felt a kind of fear in her. She had many doubts in her mind. She had so many questions to ask. Also, she wanted to thank him for saving her life. She was eagerly waiting for his arrival and now when he was in front of her she kept looking in his eyes deprived of speech or expressions. She tried to speak but it was like her body and mind both went off to work. She felt like her nerves were held captive by that man. When he speaks her body takes it as a command. She lost her thoughts and simply admiring him.

Now after being seated, he commands her to eat everything the maid served. She then realized that the snacks and drink were served for her not for that man. She recovered herself and denied it. He ordered her again to eat it by saying;

You should eat it as you are already very tired from the chase. It can affect your health. Also, it is very important to have food in short intervals to live here. Believe me! You will surely need it........

She remained puzzled by his speech. She felt something fishy and decided to leave at once. She hardly collected her body, mind and soul together and stood up from the sofa looking away from the man. Then she replied;

Please accept my gratitude for your act of kindness. And allow me to take your leave at once. Yes, I decided to serve you before but I found it ridiculous to think like that as you have many servants or people who can take care of you well.

She paused for a moment.

I must go now.bye.

She started to take her steps towards the door but he in an instinct grabs her wrist in his grip and pulled her to the sofa. She watched him with horror in her eyes. Her breath rate increases as he put his arms on her both sides blocking her to go away. She tried to grab something as a weapon to hit him. Her hand found that statue of the emperor on the horse. She gripped it tightly and attacked him in his head with all her might. But it left him unshaken. Instead his eyes filled with humor and he explodes into a laughter leaning at back of the sofa. All the servants rushed to the room and saw him laughing like they never did it before.

The girl got confused for a moment but suddenly he controlled and looked straight to her eyes with a devilish smile across his lips. She got scared even more and hurriedly rushed to the door. She came far and as she was about to open it she bumped into that man standing in front of her. She was dumbfounded at his sudden appearance. Her hand shakes nervously. She listened to him breathlessly as with fury in his eyes he said;

You can't leave without my permission. And I haven't permitted it yet. And where do you want to go in this darkest night? You want to be a prey of the one of cruel devil dynasties. No I won't allow that. You are going to spend this night here only. Do you hear me?

He took his steps forward forcing her to take her steps backward. She again got lost in that same eyes which was filled with anger this time. She suddenly collides with something and found herself seated on that sofa again. He leaned over her with his palm resting on back of the sofa looking straight in her eyes and whispers;

What is your name, courageous woman?

Instead of replying she asked;

Who…who are you?

She gasped.

He said;

Hey! I am so tired after the hunt with the feral and you are asking such questions. Hmm…okay I don't want to answer it in words. Enough talk. But let me show you ....

He sat beside her. His palms now resting on each of her arms. He said with worry in his face touching her cheek softly with one hand;

Don't worry. It pains a little…

He again shifts his right hand to her left arm. He touched her neck with his left hand fingers as calming her for the upcoming pain. Then he softly and slowly slides her clothes from shoulder to her arm. She felt his breath on her bare shoulder. She was stunned by utmost fear.

In an instinct, the man's eyes became red and soon fangs descend from his mouth. He quickly dipped his fangs inside her skin piercing flesh in two dots. She felt a sudden pain there and immediately she grabs the man's arms with both of her palms. She holds him even more tightly when he started sucking her blood. Before his fangs disappeared he pricked his finger then runs it on her neck when she realizes the pain was gone and her wounds healed in no time. She released him and slowly turning her head she looked with panic directly in his red eyes. Trembling with fear she said;

y….yo...you...you are a..........

As she can't speak properly he replied in normal tone;

Yes, I am a vampire.
