2 Moon 2

Fortune was never someone who cries a lot. He is a very quiet child. No one ever noticed him. No one cared for him more.

So you can imagine his surprise when someone did. Someone actually cares for him.

He was about to get shot by an arrow while trying to evacuate in a safer environment. The attack was a surprise and the enemies brought the fight to their doorsteps.

He thought he was gonna die when a single arrow pierced itself unto the night. It bought down multuple enemies in one hit.

He saw Miya. The moonlight Archer and their current standing leader. Miya was never meant to take responsibility for anything but she stepped up when no one else would.

Their King is gone, locked away in hidden place. He was taken by their enemies. For a while, their Kingdom was in chaos.

Nobody wanted to lead, nobody wanted to step up. Elves aren't exactly the type of race to go into war. They're one of the most peaceful race to live but someone wanted to take advantage of their unguardness.

The King never said anything about the elves having enemies. In fact, majority doesn't remembered much from the King because he'd been gone for so long that people naturally assume Miya is the queen.

But Miya would always correct them. She promised their race that she would find our rightful King and that we would take back our lands from the invaders.

But how can she do that when she's nearing death as of this moment?

An arrow shot her in the back that made her movements slower therefore the enemies were able to shoot her numerous times before they were chased by our warriors.

Back up is ridiculously slow.

But that's not what Fortune thought when he saw Miya. She smiled at him and her eyes twinkled before she dropped on the ground.

Fortune thought she was dead then he saw her moving a bit. He immediately cradled her and started calling out for help.

'No please don't take her.' He begged a prayer to the Moon Gods in his mind.

For the first time in his life, he cried. He cried for their leader, for his savior and for his ally. He never really felt like their Kingdom would completely fall apart until this moment.

He continued to cry when he saw a shadow. A shadow that blocked the moon's shine. A silhouette of a man holding a sword. A man fighting with a sword. A man fighting the ENEMIES?

A few moments passed and Fortune couldn't tell what happened to him. He just sat there still crying when the Man finally approached them.

He tried to take Miya! He tried to take their leader!

Fortune doesn't have any fighting experience at all but at that moment he knew he had to protect her.

"Don't touch her please. She's dying." He cried softly as his voice got tired from all the crying.

"Don't worry little man. I'll save her. Just let me okay?" The Man gave a kind smile before taking Miya from him. The Man carried the almost unconscious Miya.

Fortune felt a sense of relief wash over him. He didn't know why but he felt like he could trust this Man. He saw the Man insert some sort of green fruit in her mouth and her wounds started to fade a little.

Then the Man face him, still carrying Miya.

"Little man--little elf, can you please take me to your healer?" The man asked and Fortune nodded eagerly then started to make his way down their secret place. The Man smiled again as he continued to follow him. It looked as if the Man is carrying Miya with ease like she weighed nothing at all.

Their secret place is a place of security. Someone the enemies would never enter. Only a few resides there, some children, the elderly and the healers.

Elves are the only one allowed in the territory even if a visitor is from the neighboring Kingdom. So imagine their surpries when they saw a human. A human holding their leader unconscious.

One thing to say is, never assume anything.
