17 Chapter 17

On the 9th day since he started attending the Holy Orchid Institute, Shin Long finally stepped out of his dorm. Ning'er had to check in with her family apparently, and without her to keep him company, he found himself getting bored quickly.

There was only so much he could do within the confines of his dorm room beyond cultivating, and he'd already did everything. He'd even went and inscribed some inscriptions on a pair of gray vambraces and leg guards. Nothing too great in comparison to his sword, he'd merely used the blood of an Earth Eater to enhance their durability and give a protective enchantment around his body, and enhanced it twice over with the blood of a Horned Sheep.

They weren't all that amazing compared to what he could truly accomplish now, but while wearing them, most bronze rank tier attacks wouldn't do anything to him.

Ning'er had commented before she left that if he sold them, they'd go for a good few hundred thousand easily, if not nearing the millions range. And he'd been very tempted. Oh so very tempted, he could push his plans forward by a good week at least. But in the end, he didn't really want his talents to get out quite yet.

He had no plans to hide his greatness, he wanted to shine after all and eclipse the Sacred Family in every way - and what better way than to be utterly superior in their apparent speciality with inscriptions - but for the moment, he didn't want to truly attract the murderous intentions of his father.

Shen Hong was a Five Star Black Gold Rank, with a Sacred Flaming Condor demon spirit. He was within the top five strongest in the entirety of Glory City, and was said to even be a rival to the current City Lord who was the strongest behind his father, Lord Ye Mo.

So in the end, he decided to just keep his talents to himself, for now.

And so, Shin Long found himself just idly walking through the campus of the Holy Orchid Institute. People stopped to point and stare, and a few girls even tried to flirt with him. He was well known now, for being a prodigy who was at the five star bronze rank.

Of course, that was old news to him now. He'd already broken through to the Two Star Silver Rank in both Soul Force and Fighter Level after spending an entire week cultivating within his dorm room. And with his help, and that of the Earth Eater he'd gifted her, Ning'er had risen to the One Star Silver Rank in Soul Force herself.

He bid off from the girls and continued on his way though. As much as he would enjoy bedding them, and he was quite pent up from spending a week alone with Ning'er, he had just gotten out of his room and had no intention of heading back so soon.

"Have you heard?" one boy dressed in blue commented to his friend as Shin Long passed by them, "Zoysia Grass has risen up to a standard price of 79 demon spirit coins!"

"Yeah, I heard," his friend nodded, a frown on his lips, "Too bad though, all the places its known to grow have been picked clean."

'Oh?' Shin Long rose an eyebrow in interest. Since he'd spent his time cultivating for the last week, he'd not been keeping track. But he'd thought it would take at least three weeks or so for the prices to rise this massively.

Butterflies fluttered in his stomach. If he sold right now, he'd have over fifteen million demon spirit coins. He honestly could barely comprehend having so much money and he had to clench his hands into fists to stop them from shaking in excitement. 'Not yet.' he consoled himself. He predicted the prices would keep on rising for at least three weeks before stabilizing. Very few people had any reason to stock up on Zoysia Grass, and he'd picked everywhere in the surrounding areas clean of it, and it would take months for it to grow back.

Still, with fifteen million alone. The kind of Demon Spirits he could get his hands on to massively increase his cultivation were almost beyond belief! Not to mention he would have the money to get supplies for making his own soul nurturing pills to increase his cultivation speed even further!

He shook his head and began to hurry along on his way, but the second boy spoke up again, "Still, that's kind of old news, the price of Zoysia Grass has been rising all week," he added, "Have you heard though about that kid Nie Li? He gave the Sacred Family a sore face today when he pointed out that the Sacred Families well known Sacred Flame Inscription was actually plagiarized from the Lightning Flame Inscription from the old Snow Wind Empire."

Well now, wasn't that interesting. Perhaps Nie Li wasn't as bad as he thought? Still a toe rag, but anyone who had the guts to give the Sacred Family a sore face was worthy of at least some respect in Shin Long's book.
