It's the period for the practical lesson. This class was led by the teacher whose name is Catherine Emiras, an ex-royal sword instructor who also held the title of Sword Maiden. A half elfien descends with a green bob cut hairstyle and blue pupils. Just a glance at her fierce casual expression is enough to make my heart jumps a beat. The two who had sparred just now were the Prince and Dort. Both of them had a tie when had their sword on each other's throats. It's kinda amazing that the Prince could go toe to toe with someone who had the title of Spear Master like Dort. But I guess that's what royalty is.
"Mam! Permission to have a duel with that person over there who had done nothing since this afternoon!" (Dort)
He said this while pointing toward me. It's not my fault that I'm doing nothing aside from warming my bench! There's no one who wanted to pair with me since the class began...

I could hear some excitement coming from the other classmates. Those cheers are for that prick, Dort. I could only guess the cheers from the Prince's group. This feels like a psychological attack directed toward me before even the duel starts. But it's not like I take it in mind. maybe… before I get to the ring, Catherine stops me and whispers in my ear. Oh boy… is this how the love blossom between us…?

Student Dort's scream of pain sounds in the silent air. Student Reed landed a thrust on his stomach and now turned the tide of the battle to his side alarmedly. Did I imagine things? student Dort's skills are above average even with the veteran Knights with the skills he possessed, but still… What Student Reed did just now is unbelievable! I looked toward his highness and noticed him nodding when our eyes met. I should stop this duel now before it becomes worse!

I stop the duel before student Reed's blade hit student Dort's head with a swing. Thank the Goddess he stops by a hair's breadth. But I think I had rubbed him in the wrong way earlier when I didn't stop the duel when he was beaten up one-sided by student Dort. Did I make a mistake by listening to the Prince's request rather than being fair? How should I approach him from now on? While I was having these thoughts, The Prince and His Attendant rush to help their downed friend, who is gasping for air followed by muffled screams of pain. Student Reed just stand and looked at them in silence. Is he angry? What should I do? I want to help him, but the person he's having animosity with was the Prince's escort.

The prince's female attendant, and also my niece, draw her blade and points to student Reed. This is getting bad, I should do something!

Before I let out a word, the prince stops my niece from attacking student Reed. Though she seems reluctant to stop, she couldn't disobey her Lord's command. The relief felt in my chest as I make myself towards the four.
"The duel concludes for now! Mam, we'll take Dort to the infirmary now." (Remorth)

I silently stood as the two support their friend and left with discontent expressions on their faces, while student Reed went to the weapons rack to put back their training weapon, saying no word. I felt guilty to see his condition, which was even worse than his opponent. He tried to act like he was uninjured, but according to my experience, he had many internal injuries on him right now.

From what I heard from Kirara, this club was made by her, specifically for the commoners that have little compatibility with magic. This club acts as their other means for learning and sharing their knowledge that they didn't learn in their lesson in classes. Though is believed that commoners had minor talent regarding magic because they don't have the luxury of that of a noble. Learning magic at late age really messes with their abilities to master their talents. If you ask me, it's just a biased view from the powerful nobles and the lowborn commoners to keep them vulnerable. But that's how this world works. It's pretty similar to earth In a tiny margin, the ones in power always kept to themselves.
"So… in theory, if you used these kinds of magic circuits and practice them in your everyday lives, the chances are that your magic compatibility will rise up to 50% and you will be able to cast up to level 4 magic spells. But it's strictly applied to the elements that you are compatible with."
