41 Temptation.

A/N: I will be doing some editing to the first chapters. A part of me does not want to do it. I'm sure you have noticed, but I respond to a lot of comments. I just enjoy the interacting with you guys.

Before being an aspiring writer, I am an avid reader.

Now you might be asking what's the big deal?? Well, all paragraph comments will get deleted as a consequence.

I would hate to lose those precious moments, but they'll have to go.

The 39th floor was an extension of the previous one. The same volcanic theme extended throughout it. The heat only kept getting higher as I quickly traversed the terrain.

[Vulcan Dragon- LV5]

HP: 2900

The Vulcan dragon was an overly-glorified lizard, size was its only advantage. It had remotely no semblance to any dragon, as its name suggested.

It walked on four legs, much the over-glorified lizard it was.

It had protruding claws and a sharp set of teeth, fully showcased when it opened its disturbingly large mouth with its slimy tongue.

*Snap* It was deceptively fast, despite its sluggish appearance.

After dodging its bite attack, I flexed my muscles and slashed at its neck. The monster's head rolled on the floor.

*Thud*

Its magic stone announced its presence along with the sound indicating the disintegration of the monster.

The walk was peaceful for the most part, save for some ambushes here and there. I knew that wasn't going to last for long. I had a growing sense of discomfort piling up on me.

'The dungeon was saving its energy for the next murder attempt on me.'

That was all that went through my mind.

I dealt with a variety of monsters along the way, even including firebirds. I even dealt with a fake wannabe Phoenix, but for being fake, it had impressive firepower. Unfortunately for it, I had the perfect counter for fire.

There was a cross road ahead of me and my senses rumbled even more. Something nasty was getting cooked, it seems. Alas, I had to face it head-on.

I can't get stronger by taking shortcuts.

A low, permeating roar entered my ears. I fully focused ahead of me.

'So we're starting to spawn Juggernauts for fun now... Is that it?' I chortled despite not finding it funny at all— not even remotely.

The juggernauts were a strange mix of monsters' body parts that appeared on the floors around here. It had horns coming out of its head, a long lizard tail, a troll head, and a robust body with sharp metallic claws for hands.

They were even accompanied by a mob of Firetails, serpent-like fiery creatures. A thick fire cloak surrounded them.

*Clack,* The sound of my sword blocking the monster's strike reverberated.

I was slightly pushed back, but before that, I made sure to slash at its arm. The damage was noticeable, especially for an improvised last-second strike.

The injured Juggernaut stopped for a second. I took that moment of negligence to strike the other one.

*Clack*

However, the sensation this time was akin to hitting a steel door with a wooden sword. I even took some damage.

I had a theory to test out, but the first Juggernauts wasn't going to let me do that, it seems. Too bad for it, physical attacks are a major strong point for me.

This time, I made sure to finish up my job and cut both of its arms. Its neck had some properties of the other one, so I sufficed with taking its legs off as well. It had regeneration abilities, but nowhere near as close as that stupid Udaeus.

The Rex that watched what happened took a step back in what I can only assume to be fear. But it caught itself back and charged at me with newfound viciousness. I'm sure it would have shouted things like 'THIS PUNY HUMAN!'

Alas, it couldn't.

I feinted, going for a sword slash, but the monster managed to output a strange grin. That grin turned into a scream when that changed into a magic slash. The damage done to it was just as bad as the physical to its partner. The monster grabbed the deep wound on its chest and looked at me with the same look it had at the start.

'They seem to be awfully responsive, these bosses that I fight. They feel so real.' I muttered.

Their wounds were already healing, barely. They decided to both come at me. I knew their weakness, it wouldn't take long this time.

I grabbed my sword with two hands, charging it up with some magic to be used at a moment's notice.

My brain entering a zone of deep focus, effectively utilizing both magic and sword separately was no easy task — while being pressured by two Juggernauts at that.

No other thoughts could be afforded.

This solution was much better than putting my sword and magic on each hand. It was a novel way to confuse both the fuckers. No matter how many times they would try to cover each other up, I would inevitably find a way to exploit them. My newfound increased proficiency with the Sword came a long way.

My sword was starting to come naturally to me, no different from using limbs. I instinctively knew my reach, what would happen, and if it could happen the moment I swung my sword— before I even swung it.

We continued like that, I could not avoid some hits with this fully offensive style of fighting. My regeneration proved to be life-saving, literally. The environment didn't help as well.

It would be like a fight straight from hell to anyone that would be spectating.

I looked at the remaining JuggerNaut right in the eyes. It lay on the ground in agony, unable to lift a single muscle off the scorching floor.

I looked down at it and blasted it with a high-pressure water beam.

Although it didn't span as long as my other fight this day, it was no less intense.

This would have been a much harder fight to start with. The combination of magic and physical reflection would have been much harder to deal with.

Not to mention that my stats would have been worse, to begin with.

I shook my head 'No reason to think about the what-ifs.'

Unlike the other monsters, these two JuggerNauts didn't disintegrate or anything. They fully remained, large scars of the battle decorating their metal-like hide.

Nothing dropped from them, so I decided to take both of their bodies as spoils of war. I properly deposited their entire bodies into my inventory.

'Hopefully, I can make some decent stuff from their parts. I'm sure Hephie would be excited as well.'

As soon as I did that, the ceilings and walls shook slightly ''FUCK YOU TOO!'' I screamed at no one in particular.

I stepped into the 40th floor after finding the stairs that lead down. It wasn't anything special. Just the same ol' burning Hellscape.

'It better fucking be a good skill.' I shook my head.
