5 The Icy Prince, Hwang Jaejin

It was not like he had a facial issue, and he didn't mean to keep a stoic face all the time. He did laugh and smile, but he did that for the sake of being polite -just a superficial smile, meant nothing at all. Most of his smiles and laughs did not reach his eyes at all. That's why he got the nickname as Icy Prince; a Prince with icy heart.

It was really rare for him to find something funny. But, somehow, he found the small girl's threat to Lee Minho was funny that he couldn't help but break into laughter. It was strange; there was nothing funny from her threat, but Hwang Jaejin knew for sure what he found interesting and funny from her.

Ever since he burst out of laugh, people had been staring at him and it was as if he could see a huge question mark on top of their head.

Also, he could find himself warm up to the smaller girl. His smile became wider and his laugh became more often.

Towards her, he was not the icy prince anymore. But, towards other people, he was still the same.

So, what exactly was her charm?

Hwang Jaejin needed time to actually think about it. But, one thing for sure, he liked the feisty attitude she showed them. It was like she really didn't care about the impression she gave them. Most of the girls would act coquettish, but she didn't.

How she threatened Lee Minho had showed her real self, and he found it cute and adorable. Despite being surrounded by their admirers, she still showed her fangs, baring it to the both of them, a sign not to mess with her.

He didn't know he had a teasing side in him, but with her showing a rather cute reaction, he suddenly had an urge to tease her. He didn't mind talking words and more words to her. Even her short response was interesting.

"Shorty, I'm on my way. Do you want me to pick something up for you to eat?" He asked when he called her.

"Damn it! Stop calling me Shorty! How many times should I repeat that?!" Her frustration was heard from the other end of the call.

Hwang Jaejin laughed. He could picture the frown on her face as she cursed him for calling her that.

"Give it up, Shorty. You should just accept the fact that you are a Shorty." Lee Minho's voice was heard beside her, meant...they were together.

"Is Minho with you now?" Hwang Jaejin arched his eyebrows.

A painful shout was heard, confirming his question. "He is. You should come quickly before I chop this living tower into pieces." She said, disdain was heard from her voice, as well as helplessness. "Buy me a drink before you come. I'm thirsty." She added casually.

"Sure. Just wait for me, don't kill him yet, we still need him for our presentation." Hwang Jaejin grinned.

Choi Sujin: "Hurry up. I can't promise anything."

Lee Minho: "Get me Americano and donuts!"

"Get yours by yourself!" Hwang Jaejin replied with a frown.

"Meanie!! Shorty, Jaejin refused to buy your donuts!" A disgusting whine was heard, made him scrunched his face in disdain. He wished he was there to give a punch or two to the owner of the voice!

"Go away! I'm not talking to you!" Another raging shout was heard. His guess was Choi Sujin was kicking Lee Minho again.

"Where are you going? We need to stick together!" This time, Lee Minho's voice was slightly further.

"Hwang Jaejin-ssi, if you don't show up in ten minutes, I swear I'm gonna kill this friend of yours..." A threat came from her again.

Hwang Jaejin laughed again as he paid his order to the cashier girl, ignoring her blush when she saw him laugh.

"I had just finished ordering your vanilla latte and your favorite lemon cake. Can you hold yourself for a while til I get there?" He asked. They had been together as a group for weeks and he practically remembered things related to her.

Like, how to calm her anger; or how to provoke her; or her favorite cake and drink.

He didn't remember how and when he started to buy things for her before they had a group meeting. He just did it, and when he saw her excited expression, he felt an undescribable feeling of achievement. So, he did it again and again, only to see the satisfaction and eager smile on her face.

"Fine. Hurry up." She mumbled her response half-heartedly, but he knew she must have been waiting for her snacks, with that cute pout on her face.

With that expression in mind, his grin became even wider and unknowingly, he charmed all the ladies around him.

The Icy Prince was not icy anymore. He melted other people's heart as his own heart was melting because of one particular person. The best thing was... he didn't realize it at all.
