3 Love in Death

Episode 3: Love in Death

As soon as he heard her words, he quickly entered the booth and reached out to her, but she looked away and turned her back from him, seeing this, he stopped and asked.

"Chika, what's wrong?, no it's fine…..I'm glad you're safe…. We need to leave quickly the horde is idle but if they see us we might…."

He pushed forwards, but she still looked away from him, shaking his head he stopped to take a breath and got closer.

The girl shook as she felt him getting nearer. With a soft voice, she spoke.

"You need to go…."

As if a bolt of lightning hit him, he felt a shock through his whole body, he shook his head and continued.

"Not without you Chika"

"Daichi, I'm not normal….not anymore…..the dead..I can hear them…Please….leave"

To her words, he sat across her seat and crossed his arms.

Looking at her from across the booth, she still looked like same as the day he left.

Seeing this Chika stared at him with a sad expression.

"I'm not human anymore Daichi….so…please….I don't want to hurt you"

As he heard this he couldn't help but bite his lip, he then quickly grabbed her shoulder and faced her, she tried to push him away but to no avail, the two faced each other. As he did, he saw a red spot near her arm, it was dry now but he knew what it was, after all, he saw it many times.

"That's..."

She nodded slowly, a rueful smile on her face.

"You see….I was bit… I'm one of them…"

Hearing this Daichi's arm shook as he stared at her, she had a forlorn expression as she was staring back at him.

"Then how can you still speak? If you were really bit them you should be…one of them, but you're talking and you're not even trying to bite me"

To his words she looked outside, she stared at the moon in a daze as if he wasn't even there, then she spoke.

"I'm not sure…even though I don't feel like that….I was truly bit….I'm….I'm a mon"

"Don't say that!"

Before she could finish her words, without warning he laid his forehead against hers as he stared into her crimson eyes.

"You're not a monster….you're Chika, a quiet yet charming girl, shy yet you won't hesitate to tell your ideas once you made up your mind, so what if you're not normal? Who is? Normal is just bloody term people use to judge what they think is right!"

He could feel his eyes water as words just keep coming out.

"…..but I don't care… to me you're the same Chika I spent years with, the same Chika I spent that day in this very Ferris wheel, the same Chika that saved her brother and the same Chika....I love"

As he spoke, he saw something dropping to her skirt, he then saw tears falling from her face.

"Ah....Dai…chi….I…I don't want to be alone…."

"You don't have to be"

"But I'm not human"

"I don't care, and you're not dead either"

"I'm cold….and I can't feel anything"

"Then I'll warm you up and make you feel alive"

"But….what if others saw me"

"Then I'll make them accept you, and if they try anything, I swear I'll protect you"

To her every question he had a firm answer to give, suddenly she felt something on her face and saw his arm brushing her hair to the back of her ear. Her body was cold as a corpse but he didn't mind as he gave her a smile and held her hand.

"There wasn't a day I wasn't thinking about you Chika…..and there's no way in hell I'll leave you a second time"

To his words, she shed tears that she couldn't believe she had, and hugged him, he tightly hugged her back as he also cried tears of joy for the finding the one he was looking for.

But as the two were having a heartwarming moment, something was coming from the area near them.

The two reluctantly stopped hugging each other as they moved outside the booth, looking at each other Daichi smiled as he grabbed her hand.

"We're going back, Hiro is really worried about you"

Hearing this she was slightly worried what her brother would say when he saw her. But She felt something patting her head, it made her feel safe and assured that everything was going to be alright.

"Do you really think he will get scared of his big sis? He'll jump in joy when he sees you"

To his words she nodded and followed him to the rest of his friends, the others were worried as he was gone for a long time but as they saw two people walking towards them had a look of relief.

"Glad you can-"

"No time, horde behind us, talk later"

At his words the others quickly picked themselves up and moved inside the dark tunnel, they were curious about the girl beside him having white skin but questions can be asked later.

They moved and arrived at the center part of the tunnel but they stopped as a horde of z's was blocking their exit, without further discussion they quickly turned back the way they came but saw undead coming from that side as well.

Seeing this the guys couldn't help but feel death creeping to their way, but Daichi quickly took out a bolt cutter from his pack and started to cut the wires on the left side of the fence. As he did, the others followed while Chika stared at the coming horde with a calm expression.

"Alright, one at a time…tsk"

He finally cut a hole big enough for a person to fit through but as soon as he did a zombie arm quickly stretched out towards him and he barely jumped away, he then sliced the arm off with is katana but now the horde was getting near them and they had no escape route.

"Damn it….I'm sorry guys…."

He said through gritted teeth as he glanced towards his group they had a serious look but each of them had a grin.

"Hah what where you talking about?"

"You saved our asses a bunch of times, man"

"Heh, if we die after letting you reunite with your girl then we'll die happy.."

"Anyways, boys let's open a route for this two love birds"

"let's do it!"

It seemed like the 4 were going to try and open a path for them at the cost of their lives, but Daichi wouldn't let them before the boys could move someone already walked towards the group of dead blocking their paths.

As they saw a girl moving towards the group of z's Daichi quickly tried to stop her but then something weird happened, she spoke towards them.

"Move away….go there"

As if something as controlling them, the horde of dead moved slowly towards where she was pointing at.

Dumbfounded, but they had no time to lose as the group of dead behind them were getting nearer by the second, at the last dead moving out of their way a path finally opened up. The group quickly dashed forward and Daichi grabbed onto Chika and carried her like a princess.

"How did you do that?"

To his question, Chika spoke casually.

"I can talk to them…..and told them to just move away, is it weird?"

Daichi hearing this quickly gave her a kiss as they ran, seeing this Chika looked at him as if embarrassed but she couldn't show it.

"Weird yes, but in a good way"

With that, the group quickly returned back to building with their new companion
