4 Chapter 4

Simon POV:

I hear laughs, all around me, mocking me. I cannot breathe as I feel water going into my lungs. As I get yanked out of the water, all I see is mocking stares, each one finding enjoyment from me being humiliated. I then open my eyes with alarm, soon realizing it was once again a dream.

I walk up to the mirror and stare at my boney figure and unmanly face. Why am I so ugly? I think about my girlfriend, Kala. I think about the well-proportioned body, her perfectly placed curves, her beautiful eyes, and her perfect smile. How did she agree to be my girlfriend? I don't deserve her. Why is someone like me who has absolutely nothing to offer have a relationship with someone like her? I wish I had the characteristics that would make me her perfect match. A chiseled jaw, a muscular frame, tan skin, and most importantly, confidence in himself.

3rd person POV:

After staring at his reflection for a long period of time, Simon received a text from his mom, saying "Your dad visited me today. Hope I can see you soon also."

After reading it, he sighed and swept his black hair back, a habit that he recently picked up. His hazel eyes seemed to be unnaturally dark as he went about his normal routine. He changed into his normal clothes, a flannel and jeans, brushed his teeth and hair and made and ate an omelet that he prepared the egg mixture the afternoon before. Then he went to his desk and started writing.

Simon POV:

I love writing. It takes me away from my life and brings me to a place where I have complete control over everything. No one is relying on me and I have unrestricted and free. I never once considered it a choice for my future profession but life happened and gave me this job. Before, it used to be my only source of encouragement and hope, but I now have something else to look forward to. I can't wait until our next date. I felt a light, fluffy feeling in my chest and my mouth lifting up. I then daydreamed about Kala and me.
