3 Anna

Esther rambled over to the other side of town. In the middle of town was a large fire pit surrounded by many buildings. Native people we're busy working. Men were getting ready to go out hunting, Women were drying furs and skins, older women were cooking and children were running around playing with dogs. As Esther walked up to the fire pit, a woman came out to meet her. She had a blue spiral painted neatly on her forehead. " hello my name is Anna, Frank told me you would be looking for me and to make sure you got all the supplies you needed before the meeting tonight." Esther wondered how The bartender got a message to her so quickly.

Anna took Esther to a large wooden structure that had many rooms. Each room was filled with supplies for different jobs. It was a warehouse of sorts. The doors to each of the rooms had a symbol marked on them. Esther could not decipher what they meant. There were 12 rooms, Anna said Esther could take whatever She wanted from the rooms.

Esther walked through all the rooms and tried to imagine what job each room represented. One had a spiral on it like the one painted on Anna's forehead. This room was filled with fishing supplies similar to what was on the boat. There was a large blue swirled Trident leaning on the door frame. It was beautiful. The water had always called to Esther. Her grandfather and his brothers were originally from the Great Northern Land where the whales were from. During holiday time Esther's grandfather would bring lutefisk and lingonberry jam for them to eat from the Great Northern land. The boat she ended up on this morning reminded her of her grandfather. She took the trident and a large metal

Bucket to carry the rest of her treasures in from the fish room and left.

Next she went into a room that looked like it was for a blacksmith. There were anvils, hammers pliers and metals of all sorts. There were 3 different swords and shields. Esther picked a light shield that seemed strong to her that had a blue halo chiseled into it and the matching sword. She also found a set of blacksmith tools bundled together in a leather pouch and an medium anvil that she couldn't carry. She left the large trident leaning against the anvil along with the blacksmith tools that were bundled up in their leather pouch.

The library room was next there were tons of books lining the shelves. In the middle was a square box filled with scrolls with blue sealing wax on them. Esther picked out several atlases that had bright blue edged pages and a book of the history of the colonies that had blue writing on the front cover. Esther could not read the writing but the blue letters called to her. She stacked her books by the anvil in the blacksmith room. As she was leaving the room she saw four glowing blue metal horseshoes sitting on a shelf. She grabbed them and threw them in the bucket as she dashed out the door.

Material and clothing was the next room. This room was filled with tapestries of all sorts. Prayer flags, table clothes, shrouds, cloaks, dresses, shoes, pants, shirts, wallhangings, window coverings, sheets, even tapestries that looked like doors. Esther was fascinated by the door tapestries, she also picked out a plain brown cloak and a plain black cloak. She found some brown lace up boots that she liked, some deerskin pants and a glittery cloak that she was drawn to. She threw a blue dress into the bucket for good luck and went on to the next room.

By this time Anna caught up with Esther and reminded her that she needed to go to the evening meeting in an hour. Anna noticed that Esther had only made it through 4 rooms. She promised Esther that she could come back the next day after everything was settled. Anna ran into another room and grabbed a light that tied to your head so you could see at night. "Here take this. Hide it under your cloak when you go to the meeting tonight. You might need it. I will send my son Titus to deliver all of your items to you tomorrow after you pick out your place of lodging." "Thanks Anna!" "Anything for a friend of Frank."

"Follow me back to camp. You can have some of the stew my mother made for us for dinner tonight."
