Chapter 15 : She thinks we're camping?

Kofi jumped up, holding Whiskers as she popped out of the bushes " I can't believe we're alive "! Dylan smirked, dusting off some leaves on his shirt, " Very reassuring Kofi ".

Peach crawled out of her parachute and collapsed on the floor next to Dylan, " My life flashed before my eyes and that was the coolest thing I've ever done ". Kofi smiled playfully and took a bow, " Kofi Flinn. Making memories since twenty two thousand ".

Dylan shook his head, tripping Kofi " You mean, causing high blood pressure ". Kofi looked at him, as she suddenly frowned " This ground is lumpy ". Chase held out his hand, " That's cause it's my back ". Kofi jumped off and helped him up, " Sorry about that ".

Kofi scratched her head lightly, letting Whiskers jump out of her hands " Now that we know no one's dead. Let's set up camp ". Peach tilted her head to the side, " Shouldn't we be moving forward "?

Kofi shook her head, picking up one of the parachutes " It's getting dark. We won't really be able to do anything then. Plus, we'd be at a disadvantage if we weren't well rested in the morning ".

Chase nodded slowly, understanding what she meant " But what could be so disadvantageous "? Kofi shrugged, inspecting another parachute she picked up " We've caught a lot of attention by jumping out of the plane ".

Dylan sighed, rubbing his neck " And there'll definitely be a few who would do the same and try their luck ". Kofi nodded, confirming his statement " Exactly. And passing the check points won't be any easier now ".

" Which means they'll send a few seniors or something like that to create new obstacles for us ". Kofi gave Peach a thumbs up, picking the third one " Yeah, so we should get up early to go through a few checkpoints ". Chase nodded, " Before they dispatch people to guard these checkpoints ".

Kofi laughed, picking the last parachute " My friends are so smart. Aren't I the luckiest "? Dylan had gone off to find a suitable clearing for them to sleep while Peach and Chase went herb hunting.

Kofi sat cross legged on the floor, scratching Whiskers chin " Do you think they took the bait yet "? Whiskers felt himself drooling as he enjoyed the scratches, " We must be patient. But was jumping out of the plane really necessary "?

Kofi laughed, " I'd like to see how well they hold themselves in a crisis ". Whiskers withdrew his chin [ She's trying to distract me ] " How did they do "? Kofi shrugged lightly " Peach and Chase we're alright. But I don't think I'll be pushing Dylan out of planes anytime soon ".

Their conversation was cut short as Dylan reappeared, " I found a small clearing near a stream ". Kofi quickly got up, " That's even better ". Kofi gathered all the parachutes and threw them at Dylan.

She began cutting away at trees and collecting branches. Curiously, he watched her " What are you doing "? Kofi simply pointed at his hands, not turning around " We're gonna make a tent ". Dylan was a bit surprised [ Does she think this is a camping trip? ]

Kofi looked at him, one eyebrow raised " What? I'm not sleeping on the floor like some savage if you want to ". Dylan was a bit taken aback [ She has eyes in the back of her head ]

" Can I light the fire? Pretty please " Chase looked hesitant as Kofi pouted pleadingly. Peach took the lighter from her, smiling as she shook her head " Maybe another time ". Kofi pouted even more in annoyance, " Why not now "?

Dylan who was still covered in smoke and ash basically screamed next to her, " You nearly burnt me alive already "! Kofi shut her mouth, feeling slightly guilty " That was an accident. How was I supposed to know "?

Peach bit her lower lip, feeling bad " She's not wrong. I miscalculated the amount too ". Kofi smiled, waving it off " Don't beat yourself up Peach. Dylan's just being a baby ". Dylan frowned, pointing at himself " I was on a fire ".

Kofi folded her hands, " Only for a little bit and besides, you're fine ". Dylan basically shouted angrily, " After nearly drowning in the stream ". Kofi simply shook her head, looking at him " You have enough strength to yell, you must be fine ".

Dylan groaned with frustration, " You're insane Flinn ". Kofi rolled her eyes, bored " And you're being an even bigger baby Omenio ". Peach and Chase looked at each other unsure as the two argued.

Whiskers simply used his ears to cover his eyes as he lied down and sighed, [ It's gonna be a really long night ]
