14 Chapter 13 : A crazy idea in my head.

They were led to an even bigger hall filled with other students. Kofi was once again bored, looking around for anything that could interest her. She was brought out of her thoughts when someone tapped her.

She saw Chase, " I hope you don't mind but what's your name "? Kofi blinked a few times [ Do I make a fake name? But I don't want to lie to my new friends ] She growled when something sharp pierced her thumb.

Glaring at Whiskers, " I will skin and stuff you if you try that again ". Whiskers broke into a cold sweat, trying to send signals to Kofi and she eventually caught on. " My name's Kofi Flinn. You "?

Chase nodded [ I feel like I've heard that name somewhere before ] " Well I'm Chase Yanchol. Nice to meet you ". Kofi nodded, forcing herself to remember it. Peach smiled slightly, " Peach Rifnik at your service ".

Kofi nodded in acknowledgement and turned to Dylan, " What's your name "? Dylan raised an eyebrow, obviously surprised [ There's someone in this world that doesn't know me ] Kofi pointed at herself, " Did I say something wrong "?

Dylan sighed, shaking his head [ For someone like her, I'm not really surprised ] " Dylan. Dylan Omenio ". Kofi nodded, " Alright. We should get going though ". Peach tilted her head to the side, suddenly curious " Why "?

Kofi shrugged, pointing at the already closing iron gates, " Aren't we supposed to be on those fighter jets "? Dylan frowned as he followed his gaze and they all started running, " Shit! Why didn't you say something sooner "? Kofi laughed, suddenly skidding underneath " You didn't ask ".

" Are you sure you're alright Chase "? Chase felt his sea sickness only increase as Peach touched him with her gauntlet hands. Covering his mouth, he nodded as he swallowed back his barf " I'll be fine. We'll be landing soon anyway ".

Kofi stroked Whisker's head as she looked out the open carriage door. She'd been sitting next to it the moment they boarded and it made her kind of nostalgic. She let out a sigh as she leaned on the cold metal wall.

[ Every time I'm on a plane, I always remember the time I crashed it into the capital ] Kofi giggled softly to herself, " That was pretty awesome ". Dylan who had been quietly observing Kofi from the other side of the door raised an eyebrow.

[ What's that about? ] He didn't have to linger much on it as a black robot suddenly appeared in the middle of the room and a hologram of the man with scar appeared, " Nice to see you again rug rats. This is officially the beginning of your training at GEMS.... "

" ..... This is the first test. Beneath you is an obstacle course filled with thirty different check points. The team that can get to thirty before forty eight hours automatically wins. But let me warn you, it's never been done before. Instead, you can gather points by discovering items of various importance along the way ".

Kofi suddenly raised her hand, a playful mischievous smile on her lips " So it doesn't matter what method we use to advance "? Hawk looked at her suspicious as he nodded, agreeing with her " But you'll be penalized for killing other teams ".

Kofi clicked her tongue in annoyance, getting herself some odd stares in return. " So any means necessary to get to check point thirty and we won't be disqualified ". Again Hawk nodded slowly, " Yes. Just don't kill anybody ".

Kofi nodded understandingly and smiled " Don't worry about that. Thank you ". Hawk said a few words and disappeared. Leaving the people to murmur. Dylan looked at Kofi who was looking out intently at the obstacle course they were now approaching.

He frowned, looking out as well " What was that about and what are you looking for anyways "? Kofi shrugged, " I've got this crazy idea in my head ..." Kofi laughed mischievously " ..... You're so gonna hate me Dylan ".

Dylan looked out intently and Kofi squinted her eyes, " But I can't even seem to find point thirty ". Dylan frowned even deeper, " Why are you even looking for it "? Kofi shrugged, stroking Whispers head.

" You heard the man, thirty checkpoints. But with so many teams here, we should be close to a hundred or even more than that. It'd be easier to eliminate people if there were fake checkpoints. Then the resources obviously won't be able to go round.... ".

" ....That's when the fighting starts. Our guns are filled with rubber bullets which means we technically won't be able to kill each other for a while. He gave us forty eight hours to get to the end of this obstacle course in the middle of a dense forest. People get unhinged quickly. Especially when they feel disappointed or prone to failure ".

Dylan blinked a few times, processing what she'd just said [ She's a genius ] Peach sighed, slamming her fists together " What did you have in mind Kofi "? She suddenly heard Chase's excited voice, it didn't sound timid at all " There's point thirty. Seems about five kilometers from the plane ".

Kofi laughed again, suddenly putting the three under her arms and looked at all of them, " You guys are my friends and I don't want you dying....but you're gonna hate me for a while. I'm sorry about this ".

They looked at each other, suddenly unsure but unfortunately for them, it was too late.
