33 33 Interview with Silvi

The studio was quiet for a minute before everyone was looking at each other in confusion and a burning sense of wonder.

Jungsu was felt his irritation rise. He thought interviewers were supposed to take hints very well and avoid questions that hosts found uncomfortable. At least that was the impression that the show Silvi in the Spotlight had given.

Jungsu refused to make this easy for her.

"I'm not sure what you mean Ms. Silvia. I do know the basics such as Hola, Adiós, Gracias, but that's all I used with you. I would hardly call that good." Jungsu made an innocent and disarming face as he tilted his head in question.

Silvia narrowed her eyes as she smiled back at him with determination in her eyes.

"You were speaking quite fluently in our interaction, Mr. Jungsu." Silvia smiled sharply as she spoke in Spanish. Everyone on set was confused as to what was happening at the moment as they couldn't understand her.

Jungsu remained in silence, blinking blankly at her words as if he didn't understand.

Silvia huffed out a laugh as her eyes glinted with determination.

"When we were alone together, you used more than just your words." Silvia smiled innocently.

Jungsu felt his eye twitch at that. Though nobody in the studio understood her words, Jungsu had. He knew that later, when this was aired, there would be no problem in translating what Silvia had said. Clenching his jaw, he finally broke his silence.

"Are you trying to start a scandal Ms. Silvia? Do you want to ruin my...career before it's even begun with your lies?"

At Jungsu's words, everyone on set had their jaws wide open. Jungsu had not only spoken in Spanish, but he had spoken it in a manner that made him seem like a native. There was virtually no difference between what Silvia had said and what Jungsu had said in terms of their accents.

Silvia laughed then, covering her hands over her mouth as she said in Spainish, "Sorry everyone, that was a lie. But see! I got Mr. Jungsu to talk in Spanish! You can thank me later!"

Switching back to Korean, Silvia asked, "Where did you learn Spanish, Mr. Jungsu?"

Jungsu sighed, "I learned it when I was younger." That was all he offered, and seeing as Silvia was still unsatisfied, he hardened his eyes.

Pouting, Silvia decided to move on and ask, "Do you have any plans to star in any Spanish movies or tv shows?" She raised her brows with genuine hope in her eyes. Silvia would be devastated if more people in Spain didn't get to see Jungsu.

Jungsu wet his lips as he rolled his head back in consideration.

"If the opportunity ever presents itself, I would definitely take it."

That was a lie, Jungsu would not take the opportunity. He didn't know enough about Spain to willingly travel there in order to simply act. He only knew Spanish because he had learned a little of it when he was in London. That had taught him enough to be intermediate, but once he went to Italy when he was older and had gotten to learn Italian, it was much easier to become fluent. The romance languages weren't hard to learn together as once you knew one of them, they all seemed to compliment each other. From there, he had studied Spanish on his own as it gave him more knowledge, and knowledge in Jungsu's line of work, meant the difference between life and death. It wasn't very hard to learn languages for Jungsu either, as because he was multilingual, he was able to grasp languages much faster than his peers. On top of that, his photographic memory aided in the memorization of words.

"Wow! That sounds amazing, I can already picture it! I personally think a romance movie would suit you very nicely!" Silvia exclaimed excitedly as the studio was now full of quiet murmurs in surprise of Jungsu's revelation and the potential that came with it.

Jungsu didn't quite understand why she would think a romance movie suited him. He'd thought she was a sharp woman, but it seemed that his judgement, along with her judgement, was wrong. As Jungsu sat stiffly on the cushioned seat, he thought to himself that there would be nothing worse than him starring in a romance movie. He was too stiff, even he could recognize that. And regardless of what his comrades thought of him, he was not a very promiscuous man. He liked his privacy and wanted to live a peaceful life.

Jungsu knew what European romance movies and dramas were like, he had seen a couple in his time there. European standards for romance... were not as tame as it was in Asian countries, and even America for that matter. Nudity was seen as normal, in fact seeing someone's behind was not out of the ordinary, nor was seeing a woman's chest. But he couldn't fault them for that, as their culture was simply more open to those kinds of things.

Jungsu remembered having been to a beach once in Europe. It was a rather shocking experience to say the least. People did not bother changing in private. But at least he had not been to a nude beach... that would have been worse.

"I don't know if I want to do romance movies-"

Jungsu was interrupted by Silvia as she gasped and said, "Why not?! You must do romance movies!"

Jungsu was a bit taken aback by the fire in her green eyes. She seemed far too serious for someone who was simply taking his interview.

Raising his brows at her, he watched as she brought herself under control.

"What I mean to say is that romance movies are a great opportunity for actors as it's great exposure to a variety of audiences, specifically females." She grinned widely.

Jungsu felt his brows pull downwards as he considered that. It seemed that he had even more reasons to avoid doing romance movies. He did not wish to have a repeat of what had happened to him in front of his own residence.

On top of that, he didn't want to have to kiss another co-star that he barely knew. It was not as if Jungsu was innocent to the world of romance, it was simply that he didn't wish to partake in it. How would he even face the actress afterwards, knowing that they'd had to kiss each other in twelve different angles for thousands of people to see on the big screen. And what if there were any misunderstandings after the movie aired? What if the public thought that Jungsu and the actress he would star with were in a relationship? He had heard of this happening before, so Jungsu was worried that he would either be pushed into a relationship he didn't want, or be hated by others for denying his relationship with their beloved actress. Jungsu didn't think he would win in either scenario.

"No, I don't think I am suited for those. But actors like Seung-gyu fit the role naturally." Jungsu remembered Seung-gyu from Double Shift and recalled his reliable and charming personality and appearance.

"Ah! I agree with you. Mr. Seung-gyu is very handsome and charming! But do you not think the same of yourself Mr. Jungsu?" Silvia asked with a puzzled look on her face.

Jungsu was silent for a moment as he froze in the spot, his eyes widening at the difficult question that had been posed for him.

He had two options now. He could either agree with what she said and call himself handsome, to which either people would hate him, or like his confidence. Or, he could deny his handsomeness, to which people would either respond negatively, or positively. In the worst scenarios, if Jungsu said he didn't think of himself as handsome, people would come after him for being purposefully ignorant. And if he said he did think of himself as attractive, they would call him an obnoxious and narcissistic man. Jungsu knew he was handsome, however, he wasn't sure if the public would take it well if he claimed that he was handsome. Jungsu knew he could not be handsome to everyone as beauty was subjective, thus, he might be handsome to some, and average to others. Jungsu did not think he was so handsome that he should claim he was handsome. Claiming that would mean that a majority of the people in Korea also found him handsome. He didn't think that was the case. And if he risked doing that, he would also risk facing the brutal attacks to his physical appearance by netizens. The internet was a dark place.

Still, he didn't want to chose the other option either as Jungsu himself didn't appreciate it when attractive people denied their looks.

Taking a deep breath, he said, "I am happy with what I have."

Silvia looked at him for a moment before laughing hard, wiping away tears as the staff in the studio were also laughing quietly at the panicked look they had seen on Jungsu's face, and his rather evasive response.

The interview went on for ten more minutes before it was finally over. Once the cameras were turned off, Jungsu allowed himself to sink into his seat as he let out a breath of relief.

"Mr. Jungsu, would you mind if I posted a picture with you on my social media?" Silvia asked as she stood up.

Nodding his head, Jungsu stood beside her as she pulled her phone out, bending slightly as he looked into the camera and smiled slightly.

After that photo was posted, it began circulating widely online in Korea, and even more so in Spain, catching the attention of not only the public, but also some more important figures.
