As soon as the system said that I saw portals open in the sky and many, many creatures began to fly out into the sky and look down on the humans while other creatures who appeared just began slaughtering everything in sight.

Within an hour the city was nearly completely destroyed and there was debris everywhere I could see. Then I felt a beam of energy shoot towards us and I looked at Alicia and then I jumped onto her, shielding her from the blast.
