15 - The winds of change

Thanks for the comments, and I will try to change all the protagonist characters bit by bit.

------------------------

We reached Ippo's house, and just like last time we got to work, we talked a lot about what happened. Ippo told me that he was a Little disappointed because he got knocked out, but I explained that his right punch was great, and well, it was our second day in the gym; we need to improve a lot.

And training is the way to achieve that. I need to recover my box sense, today's sparring with Aoki made me understand how badly this body is trained; actually, it isn't trained at all. My body aches all over; I could barely feel my legs after the routine Kazeo made me do in the morning, but apparently I recover easily. I have to thank the gods for that, but I still really need to work myself out.

Another thing I understood in this place is that the boxers are insane!, Aoki's punches were way over the ones I received in my original world, and the speed was amazing; the sound each punch carried, was something overwhelming. I hope that I also got the same resistance and body as the anime might, because I don't think anyone in my original place could hold a punch from Takamura or Ippo in his weight class; that shit is way too powerful for a featherweight.

While I was thinking about all of this, we finished the work earlier than yesterday. I said goodbye and went to my home.

When I enter the house I Heard a shout from my adorable sister.

"Heeeey, did you bring me something?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Did you ask me for something? Did I become your gopher?"

Komi pouted. "Aww you're no fun"

I chuckled and threw her a bag. "I went to the konbini, I got you Ice cream"

She gleamed, "Thank you, Thank you; that's why you're my favorite brother"

"What's this about a favorite brother?" Kazeo was on the stairs.

She gasped and said,. "I said he's my favorite middle brother, and you're my favorite big brother," she winked, adding, "And I am your favorite Little sister." She batted her eyelashes.

I laughed, and Kazeo just groaned and went to the kitchen to grab some water.

I saw mom, cooking and asked her if she needed some help.

"Yes!, please put the table," Mom said.

Kazeo got the plates, and I got the vases; even Komi came and put the utensils in, Mom was smiling with great glee.

We all heard the door and a voice say, "Dad's home"

"Welcome Dad", Komi and I chimed.

"Welcome, Father," Kazeo said.

"Hi, dear, how was your day?" Mom said.

We all sat at the table and ate; we did small talk, and Kazeo related what happened in the morning and in the gym. Dad was happy that he went with me, and he was also concerned about the sparring that brother did with the big guy. Mom was smiling and just said to be careful and not to let all of this have repercussions on our school grades.

This time, I washed first because Komi said she still had some work to finish. After my bath, I got into my work for the school; most of it was to copy some stuff from the books. Rather easily, Kazeo came to my room and asked If tomorrow would be the same as today. I reassured him and said yes.

I went to sleep; today was the second day. My adventure is far from the first step, but I will continue to grow and become better.

-Miyata's residence Ichiro POV-

Both of them were eating in silence, and the first to end the mood was his dad.

"What did you think of today's match?"

I looked away and said,. "He was a total rookie, and I became flustered. I went into a punching match; instead of using my legs, he got me"

Dad nodded and said, "You did good, but still, you didn't."

I scowled. "I know I did wrong, but what did I achieve?"

My dad raised his eyes and looked into the ceiling; finally, he looked at my eyes, muttering, "There are no lucky punches. The other kid said that... Ichiro… Am I wrong?"

I saw the pleading in the eyes of my dad. "What do you mean?" I asked.

He sighed, and lowered his face, holding it with his hands. "I…I have always blamed that match to a lucky punch; my counter was amazing; it was perfect, and he landed a hit...HOW?!" he raised his voice at the end.

I smiled with sadness. "He switched"

He suddenly raised his head and looked at me with such intense force. "What did you say?"

I just moved my head and looked at him. "He was a switch hitter; he saw the counter and he switched his legs, his right and his left were different, you did a false counter and you got down", I teared a bit when I finally said those words.

"Hehe… HAHAHA HA!" Dad laughed and laughed.

"What's wrong?" I said concerned.

"I burned the tapes; I remember; I didn't let you see them; how do you know, he switched?" Dad asked

I shrugged. "I was there. I remember the fight; I was always at your ringside".

"Shut up," Dad said. "Just..." he sighed. "Damn... Ichiro, you want to become stronger?"

I was astonished for a second and could barely exclaim a yes.

He smiled and said, "Good. I know that you copied all my stuff, and I have managed your training, but still, I haven't taught you anything. How about letting the world see "The Jolt" once again"

I was too surprised by all of this; I didn't process all the things he said.

"Why are you smiling and crying?" Dad said.

I touched my face, and I had a weird smile. I chuckled and closed my eyes. "I would love to be taught by you! Thanks".

My Dad drank all his water and stood up. "Damn that kid Sora, too bad he's not on your weight class. You got yourself a rival, let's fight again the small one"

I grinned, because I wanted a rematch, I may have won, but I didn't feel like a winner.

"Ippo" I muttered.
