19 Chapter 19

Leo's POV

After we left the hotel, Jan offered to drive me home but I refused and decided to walk to my apartment, I think he already knows where I live though. Because when we entered the hotel's room and he slammed against the wall I remembered that his scent and the scent I caught on the fifth floor of my building are the same.

I can't deny that I felt a little angry because he is stalking me, but I knew from the beginning that he is going to be trouble so I wasn't surprised, also it is not the first time something like this happened, and honestly, I don't care that much.

So the reason of my refusal wasn't to avoid him knowing where I live or because I felt a little angry, the reason was that I wanted to try my luck on finding another prey to hunt. Unfortunately, I didn't get any blood from him because I don't know how his body's reaction to the sedative entering his system frequently will be, I thought of scratching him with my nails then suck the blood, but it was going to be too obvious so I didn't do it.

As I walked the streets looking for potential prey, the sun was about to rise and the streets were almost empty. I was walking frustrated until I almost reached my apartment, when I laid my eyes on a boy sitting on the street near a building, from his breathing and heartbeats he seemed to be sleeping; I grinned and walked toward him.

When I was about two meters away from him I greeted him with a smile "Hey kid, why are you sleeping here?"

His head shot up as he looked at me with tired and sleepy but beautiful brown eyes, with brown soft hair and tanned skin, his body seemed skinny though, his clothes were tattered and dirty, and he had a few bruises on his face and arms.

I waited for him to answer but he kept quiet while his eyes focused on me and his body trembling, I asked again with a softer tone this time "I asked you a question, kid, why are you sleeping here in the cold with these light clothes to boot?"

I waited again for him to answer but he kept his mouth shut, although his appearance makes it clear that he is homeless but still, he should answer when I ask.

As my patience ran low, I closed the distance between us and crouched down to the boy's level and put my hand on the boy's shoulder, the boy tried to pull himself away from me but I held him in place between me and the wall.

The boy's body started to shake as he lowered his head and winced "Please don't hurt me; I'm sorry I didn't answer you earlier."

I hummed satisfied and said sternly "Fine, now look at my eyes."

As the boy raised his head to look at my eyes I had the chance to examine his face closely, and he is really beautiful, I nodded my head in approval and my eyes' color started to change from the normally very light green (almost yellow) to my red vampire eyes.

The boy gasped and tried to pull away, but it was too late since I have already used my mind control on him and ordered "What is your name? How old are you? Why are you sleeping here? Answer me now."

The boy directly started to talk "My name is Alex Cox, I'm sixteen years old, my parents died in a car accident a few months ago, I have no relatives, so I have been put in an orphanage, but I ran away a few days ago because they always beat me, and that is why I was sleeping here, sir."

I hummed and ordered again with my red eyes still fixed on his "You will be coming with me, you will obey every order I give you without any hesitation, now follow me."

I finished speaking then stood straight, my eyes returned to normal, and walked toward the building's door with the boy following behind me.

As we walked close to the elevator I noticed that, the boy was hardly keeping up with my pace, hell, he was barely even standing. I'm guessing he didn't eat for the past a few days and with the beating, his fragile body is hardly holding up.

We exited the elevator and as I walked to my apartment's door I could smell Jan's scent clearly and strongly throughout the corridor, I frown but ignored it for the time being because I had more important things to do, so I opened the door and motioned with my head for the boy to enter.

When we were inside I looked at the boy and ordered "Strip."

The boy looked at me shocked and I could clearly see on his face that he didn't want to obey my order, but his hands moved against his will and started to remove his shirt.

I settled at the couch and watched as he removed one piece after the other with his tears rolling to his cheeks.

When he was totally naked, I waited for a minute just to enjoy the view, then I stood up and walked toward him. The boy gulped and started to shake terribly when I approached him and examined his body, he had many bruises covering almost all his body.

I trailed my finger on his back and asked "Did they rape you?"

He shook his head no, so I continued "Good, throw all your clothes in the bin, then enter the bathroom and clean yourself."

I pointed to the bin and the bathroom. The boy collected his clothes from the floor, threw them in the bin quickly and ran to the bathroom, clearly relieved that I didn't do anything to him, when he closed the bathroom door I smirked and shook my head.

I went to my bedroom and took cotton short-pants, a shirt and underpants and put them on the bed, then went to the kitchen to make something to eat for me and the boy. Even though I'm planning on drinking some of his blood, I can't take enough to make me full.

While I was preparing the food I contacted Arlo through the mind link and greeted "Rise and shine, sweetie."

Arlo answered me half-asleep "Fuck, the sun is hardly up yet."

I laughed at him and ordered, "Get your ass up, I need you to finish with Kai today, and come with him tomorrow, he can spend a few days here with us, it has been years since he left 'Vam', and I need to give him the keys to the playroom to make sure it is always clean and the tools are maintained regularly, also, I found a new servant to serve in Kai's place, I'm sending him with Kai when he gets back to 'Vam'."

Arlo chuckled and said amused "That was fast, where did you find this new servant? And since you have found the keys, my ass should be safe, right?"

I raised my eyebrow and snorted "Don't tempt me with your ass, I'm still angry because you had lost them in the first place, but I will let it slide this time, and about the servant, he is a homeless boy, anyhow, finish Kai's training tomorrow and come with him the day after."

"As you wish, see you after tomorrow." Arlo answered before I disconnect the link and took the sandwiches with me to the living room and put them on the table.

A few minutes later the boy came to the living room with a towel covering most of his body, I shook my head at the boy and clicked my tongue, but still, I just pointed at the bedroom and told him to dress up, after he got dressed and came back we started eating.
