4 Survailence Day 3, First Human Interaction -Chapter 3-

After around twelve hours of both resting and attempting to escape its confinements, the slime eventually remembered how it first managed to get out of this situation by using its not so genius technique of crawling out using 'Body Manipulation.'

It begins to wander about the forest as it does the other two days it has lived, this is when it runs into its first humans, or, alive humans, at least.

Calculated chance of survival: 12.9% depending on the power and personality of the two humans.

The two seemed to not notice the slime, and instead continued to speak to each other. Speech will be translated by its intent, as programmed.

"Sis', I keep telling you, this forest can be dangerous with all the monsters around, just go home. You're not even an Adventurer like me..." The one lecturing the other human was a tall, messy-haired male. The human wore a mix of leather and chainmail armour with a particularly flashy shoulder armour piece, a coat worn above all of it. On his side was a longsword, one seemingly made out of light but sturdy steel.

"Oh, shush. I'm just as qualified as you, and you know it! You're way too protective of me! And, either way, how dangerous exactly is Elix forest if the only monsters we've seen are goblins and slimes?" The female human on the metaphorical other hand, is quite short. However, like the male, the other human had messy, long hair. Her clothes were light but wore the same shoulder armour piece as her assumed sibling. However, she wore some chainmail for extra protection. The only weapon on her body was a small dagger in its sheath.

"Elizia, even a goblin or slime could be incredibly dangerous with the right circumstances, you can't just underestimate everything that seems weak... this is exactly why I'm not letting you sign up as an Adventurer."

The slime moved closer, eventually reaching the foot of the man.

"Oh, come on! You're not even giving me a chance! And I told you to call me Eli, you know I like it better than my full name!"

"Right, right... and I will give you a chance... when you're olde--" The man stopped dead in his tracks, realizing that the slime, indeed, exists. Jumping back a few feet, the man made a high pitch noise denoting fear and surprise.

The female held in her laughter, speaking once again, "Aw, a slime! Isn't it cute?"

"It's no such thing!" The man, slightly panicked, tried to shake the slime off of him. However, the sudden movement startled the slime, causing it to sub-consciously hold on tighter to his foot out of fear

>You have levelled up Physical resistance<

"Heyyy, it's not actually attacking you, you sure it's not some person's tamed monster?" With the available information, the female human made a false assumption.

The male slowly stopped squirming around, realizing the passiveness of the slime, eventually continuing to speak. "Huh, you could be right."

The male, now realizing his quick thinking lead him to misunderstand the situation, attempted to pick up the slime carefully, still cautious. He succeeded, the male now staring at the slime. It stared back, or looked to, as the slime still cannot see.

The male sighed, calling out to anybody nearby, "Hey! Is this anybody's slime?"

Only silence returned as an answer, despite how loud he spoke. It can be inferred nobody is nearby.

The female went uncharacteristically quiet for a moment, but soon spoke to what can be inferred is her brother.

"Hey, Vix?" She attempted to replicate what some call 'Puppy Dog Eyes' in order to coerce the male into giving her what she wants. "Can we keep it?"

"What? No. It's a vicious monster, it could still attack at any moment..." He spoke again. The male stayed on guard despite the fact he was still holding the slime.

"Oh, pleaseee? I promise I won't come with you on your jobs for an entire... um, week!" The female, seeing how her manipulation failed, changed her tactic to bribery.

The male thought for a minute, coming up with an idea that would work in his favour, "One month."

"Huh? No way! Maybe two weeks..."

While the two were arguing, the slime casually slipped off of the male's hand, slowly moving away.

Now, completely out of sight from the other two, the slime was safe. However, chances are that the male and female would have reached a consensus and taken the slime as a tamed monster, meaning it would most likely not die.

Nevertheless, the slime was oblivious to that fact of course, as it is still a simple slime, even if it didn't hear the message. A slime is just merely a slime, after all.

>You have gained sense: Hearing<

Perhaps the new sense was gained because of the loudness of the former female human, or simply it hearing humans speak. It is impossible to guess how these senses are bestowed.
