2 Chapter 1: A light Unchanged

Prison of Eldoris, Azazelean Sea, Galia

Aegir gazed at the dim sunlight that stubbornly penetrated through the dark clouds. And as if the rays had some sort of mind of it's own, It shone upon a single place so focusedly, making it glow with a halo so gentle, infecting the atmosphere surrounding it with a rare warmth from the conditions anywhere else.

The place that seemed so blessed was but a floating perfectly cut triangular piece of humongous ice, containing strong seals and spells of special functions, engraving from throughout the outside to the singular cellar within the insides.

In truth, the place was the harshest of locations amongst the hazardous territory of Galia; The prison of Eldoris.

The prison of Eldoris was now only used as a landmark, long forgotten was the former deity forsaken by his own beliefs that it had imprisoned.

Eldoris. Derived from Aegir's own surname—a prison especially built for him. It confined him for several centuries; hundreds of unrelenting years within it's restrictive grasp.

Aeigir didn't know why, but he had finally escaped the horrendous torture he suffered, inflicted by his lone chamber, no longer needing to bear the extreme conditions of both loneliness and physical torture cast upon him.

Not so far away from the famous 'landmark', Aegir absentmindedly scrubbed his growling stomach, hoping on making the dull pain of it being empty go away.

The Ice glacier he sat on suddenly swayed and rumbled, the heavy weight of his kraken friend adding a sudden burden to it's sturdy body.

"Ouch. That damned ice really hurt."

Miyu bemoaned of his aching body, acting like a big baby, leaning closer to Aegir, hoping for some comforting.

Aegir placatingly rubbed some of Miyu's tender suctions, and looked quite sorry at the sight of the former's bruised and swollen tentacles.

"Ae, do you think I need to cut it off to stop the swelling? Should I eat it after?Do you think it would grow again like the licht's limbs when they eat bones? Or do you think a limbless man is better after all?"

Aegir's hands paused halfway. With Twitching forehead covered by a sweet smile, he teased: "Hm. I should help you with that. How about cutting off your reproductive limb first?"

"...."

"!!!"

Suddenly, Miyu felt like his tentacles don't hurt so much.

"Ae! You sadist! Bastard!"

"Hahahahahaha" In front of Miyu's harmless verbal abuse, Aegir not only laughed, but pinched some of the Kraken's pained suctions.

"Oww"

The kraken glared at the Siren, Pale yellow eyes showing anger. A limb slowly caressing the stinging flesh.

Miyu hopped off the snow covered land they were sitting on, and with a huff, jumped off to the waters.

"I Better do something else than talk to a bully." Miyu said.

He swam to the depths until not a piece of his yellow-orange body can be spotted.

But only a few minutes, he came back with one tentacle piercing numerous 'little fishes', which was, to be exact, some lesser sharks.

Aegir watched his little adventure intently. And shook his head-

"Food again, little fatty?"

Miyu gave him an offended look, then dumped the lesser sharks to the slate of ice next to Aegir's tail.

"Don't call me little fatty, also, I got these for you."

Aegir helplessly looked at the heap of fish. He used to not need food when he was a greater Deity.

But..that was in the past.

For now, he was but a helpless middle class predator. A lowly creature of lowly birth, able to only dominate a portion of the sea. But most importantly, he now needed to eat, fish at that, Raw fish. Something that he's never done before.

Miyu looked at his mulling friend. "Don't think too much, that's not like you at all. Just dig in and enjoy life, mi amigo."

The tentacle clad idiot then made himself comfortable on the other side of the heap of sharks, taking a bite of the largest amongst the dead fishes.

Aegir was taken aback. Yes, what was the use of gloomily thinking about the things that he cannot change?

He smiled, looking towards the heap of useless small sharks and finally chose a a bigger one of the bunch. Carelessly, he bit into the astringent flesh.

Aegir looked towards the sky to distract himself. Shocked to see the beauty of the sky once again. Untainted by time, the stars still shone ever so brightly just like a few centuries ago, except this time, it was only him and Miyu side by side.

Nostalgia ate away at his insides, feeling it hallowing with every thought of the past.

"Miyu..what happened?"

Miyu took his gaze away from tracing a constellation. He put down the fish he bit into. Hesitating for a bit, he said, unsure, "I do not know Ae. When you were sealed by...him. I was sealed along with you, but I came out of the seal a decade earlier."

Aegir frowned.

"You don't understand, Aegir. You were dying then. Weak. Your power so dried up that I fear the day it would totally be emptied was not so long. I-i could not do a thing. I was so scared of trying, for one wrong moved and it would be detrimental."

The sea monster's voice went fainter and fainter the longer he spoke. A distant look painted across his eyes, to his lips that curved down in unsaid disappointment, dissappointment in himself.

The kraken slumped.

Aegir stayed silent. He didn't know what to say. He did not know of a way to organize his words to comfort the other and did not have any energy left to find his own voice.

He took his gaze from the glittering starlights and looked at Miyu, voice faint. He took the effort of patting the other's head's side.

"Remember to get some flavoring seaweeds next time."

"Haha..sure." Miyu offered a faltering smile.

The two then ate in silence, broken by Miyu opening his mouth a few minutes in. He could not help it.

"Aegir..back in there, back in the depths. I saw it, I saw your statue and his exuviae."

The kraken looked a bit disturb, but still continued on, " Back on my first year of..being freed, I roamed around, searching for the others, but only wounded up being only able to find  your stone imitation and his dragon skin exuviae."

Aegir said nothing in return, but he ate obviously faster, almost choking himself.

"Go." He said, after eating clean most of Miyu's harvest.

Not waiting for Miyu's aknowledgement, he dove off to the dark and murky waters of the Azazelean Sea.

The kraken could only follow with a sigh in anguish, rubbing his still aching limbs.
