( I )A Sinister Being In This World

15 years ago.....

An incident took place in Tokyo, Japan that changed the world forever. 27 people have died while 2 were critically injured, But the terrifying part about the incident is that one who did all of this wasn't a person, it was a "Monster". All the polices in that area died and Special Forces are deployed. But no one knew how it died. Because the Special Forces won't answer questions from the media and always refuse. Some witnesses describes the monster as a human. Some describes it as a monster with multiple eyes. This monster was then named "Oni" because it first appeared on Japan. 15 years have passed and there's still no clear answers.

But now Everything will change. Because Theodore Falcona is about to solve the mystery behind this monster called "Oni".



Chapter 1: Once again

It has been 15 years since father has passed away. I always relied on him on my goals But here I am, I hope he is watching because it finally happened.

Theodore Falcona graduated with Bachelor of science in Criminology.

I pursued a Criminology degree to become an Police officer.

Due to my bad grades back in my elementary days. My father didn't really looked up upon me or acknowledge my academic skills. He would often try to inspire me to hard work in school. But it was his death to only inspire me. I look up to the sky and said "Father I'm sorry that, it was only after your death i was inspired to study hard. i wish your alive watching this."

The Day After.

I asked my classmate to research about the 2008 Tokyo, Japan "Oni" incident. Then my Highschool classmates decided to meet up at a Cafe for reunion. So I can get my answers. We're also gonna celebrate our graduation.

The Cafe is near at my house and the school I studied back in Highschool. Just a bit of walks and I am already at the cafe. The Cafe was pretty small it was located in 2nd floor above a clinic in a commercial building. I head inside the cafe. And there are only 2 of my classmates and there are all of my friends.

"Hey look! Theo has arrived. You got pretty tall aren't you?"

"Ha, I guess so." I couldn't really say anything else since I felt embarrassed.

I got into a seat. The table and chairs are separate. So, we are pretty far from each other.

"Alice, why did you pick here at a cafe? It should've been to a restaurant for bigger tables and more chairs."

"Ken, you know me! I hate expensive places and this should be fine"

"Ha ha, don't make an excuse you are just broke!" Kenneth laughs.

Still through this day there chemistry haven't been changed.

"So guys, What degree you graduated with? Alice what did you got?"

"I graduated with Bachelor's degree in Computer science."

"Theo how about you?"

"Bs in Criminology."

"Hmm you guys really went far on studying huh."

Kenneth is just an average student compared to Alice and I.

"So, Kenneth what degree you graduated with?"

"Uh I went with education."

"So you want to be a teacher?"

"Yeah" Kenneth proudly responded

"Eh, lame" are you really gonna live with that low pay?

"Hmph! Definitely!"

The two just went on and talking. Mostly nonsense, I just sat here on my seat admiring the design of the cafe. It was planned that 10-40 students are gonna come in here. But only 3? I guess everybody just forgot highschool. Also the fact that those 2 forgot that i exist. Like they were so focused on the no sense topic they are talking

Suddenly somebody sat at the table where Theo was sitting.

"Hey Theo can I sit here?"

"Huh?"

I was surpised. But it turns out that it was Officer Nava. One of my father's co-workers.

"Oh sir! long time no see."

"It surely is! By the way, Theo i heard the news, you graduated with a criminology degree. it seems you are really following your father's path."

"Indeed, especially since that incident i really want answers. And now I'm a Police officer im pretty close to it."

"Hmph. Im sorry to say this but, I hope this doesn't crush your hopes but you are still far from it."

"Why?"

"Because, Theo."

Officer Nava then came close to me, then whispers.

"You see, the 2008 Tokyo, Japan incident the information that the police provided were false. They spread lies and covered it up. The information were like zigzag maze. You think you are getting the right info but it's actually a dead end."

At that point i went blank, I was shocked. Because 15 years ago ever since that incident. The government and the police worked together to unravel this mystery. But its was a no?

"Then the government is dealing with it?"

"No either, Lets come outside and talk this matter. we don't want anybody to hear this." Officer Nava whispers.

"Guys I'm gonna go out for a bit. I'm gonna talk to my father's Co-worker."

The two didn't even respond lol. and they keep to each other talking nonsense. We headed outside and went out of the commercial building. Officer nava just kept on walking and then.

"Theo , there is a secret organization somewhere in this world they are known for suppressing "Oni".

"Suppressing? do you mean there is more of them"

"You're right. They kept it hidden for a long time now."

"Wh-What?" Theo was shocked hearing this.

Officer nava stops and looks at me.

"Only police and the higher ups in the government knows this. There are only a few Inteligence agents that managed to spy on them but one agent never returned alive. Turns out there was an interview to get into the organization. Theo if you truly want to know the truth behind "Oni". This organization is your way to go."

"What is the name of this org? And what do I need to get in there?"

"I'm afraid, Not even I and the intelligence agent who spied in there got accepted. I do not know what kind of a person needed to get in there."

"But you know the person who interviewed you?"

"I do not know his whereabouts. Since i got into that interview 9 years ago now. As for the location, he was in an old apartment but now the building is demolished."

"I see."

I couldn't really say anything my mind is just confused because of everything.

"But I should start by becoming a police officer. Maybe I can get some small hints. And I'll solve the rest."

"Sounds good. But expect to get some hints at least 5-10 years. Not even I got a a smallest of hint about the origin of these monsters. But I'll just hope you will get some info about it."

An Oni will appear again probably someday. Just how many are there? Are their appearances look like human? Is the media true about the humanoid looks? And also are the government covering it up? Is the organization doing well surpressing the Oni's?So many questions popped up in my mind!

"Theo, looks like you are spacing out there. This isn't the time to think about those. Go celebrate with your classmates. I'll be heading on my own."

"Thanks for worrying and Thank you very much, Officer Nava."

We then part ways. While I go to the commercial building back to the cafe, Officer Nava went the opposite directions.

Officer Nava then pull his phone out and received a call from somebody.

"Are you done with your own business, Nava?"

"Yes sir"

"Alright, I'll be heading my way there now."

"Affirmative"

I am sorry Theo, I hope you'll forgive me for this but, I lied. I do know something about Oni. There is a rumor about a Person beating people and eating their fleshes out. Since the incidents happen somewhere in this place. I want to investigate it.

"We will be meeting at the abandoned construction site just near the street that you are in, Nava."

"Alright."

An investigation has scheduled this day and it will happen In the construction site. People suddenly disappearing, reports from citizens and also there are blood stains on the site. Me and my co-workers suspected this is not an ordinary murder incident. Because it happened pretty quick.

20 minutes later. The police has assembled in the construction site.

"It's been a while hasn't it? Since we got into an investigation together."

"I know right!"

"Say, did Falcona's kid made it? Nava?"

"Yes" Nava smiled proudly.

"Hmph! Falcona was right about his kid."

Police investigator Chou was one of the police who admired investigator Falcona during his prime.

"You know, he may not be as smart as Falcona But he is sure something!"

"The police tapes are ready!" The other police officer shouted.

"Is everyone ready? Nava, Chou, and Fredrinn."

"We are ready."

As the police investigators stepped in the site. All of them felt an sinister aura coming from it.

"This feeling."

"Officer Nava, for a veteran like you. Is this the first time this happen to you?"

"Yeah"

Investigator Chou has thought. "Officer Nava never felt this after years of stepping in a crime scene."

As the squad progress further. The aura felt more ominous.

"This feeling. I feel like somebody is in here."

"Yeah, I felt it too."

"From now on, we should just whisper "it" might hear us."

The construction site was big and it has a lot of walls built on it. Almost like a maze. So we couldn't tell what is in there.

Until.

"SLASH!"

A disfigured head has blew off coming from above from a wall. The head landed on the floor near the polices

"Guh?!"

"What the fuck?!"

"Wh-What is this"

" But most importantly who did this?" Nava confusingly said.

"This could be it. After 15 years it has finally appeared."

"Don't tell me this is!"

Meanwhile at the cafe. Kenneth ordered food and moved to a bigger table with Alice and Theo.

"Soooo, Theo what did you talk about with that mysterious guy?"

"Nothing really much. Well I guess we did talk about my father."

"Darn. Your father is really popular huh?"

The bell rang and someone has arrived.

"It's!"

Alice then ran off the table and hugged the newly arrived person.

"It's Avril!"

"Avril my crush! I thought you are not coming?"

Avril. Heh the tomboyish girl in our Elementary. She always got in trouble and got involved in some school fights.

"Darn she's beautiful! What a glow up!"

Kenneth's eyes transformed to a heart lol.

"Theo I heard the news. You graduated with a degree of criminology?" Avril suddenly asked.

"Uh, yes?"

"Hmph for a person like you I wouldn't expect it."

"I bet you went criminology too? Avril."

Avril just nod her head and sit in the table.

"I thought you're not gonna come at the cafe. Avril?"

"Peter begged and kneeled to the ground to pass the papers"

"Oh I see"

Peter and Alice were one of my classmates who had a big crush on avril. I bet peter had fun kneeling to the ground Infront of avril.

All the sudden Alice approached Avril

"Avril you are so beautiful! Can we be together?"

Alice and Kenneth we're both so inloved with avril now.

Avril ignored the 2 while...

"Theo, about the 2008 Tokyo, Japan incident."

"Hmm?"

"This is the research papers peter got. Didn't know you were researching this after all these years."

"Just curious y'know."

"Anyways here are the papers."

"Thanks"

Maybe I'll read the papers once I got home. Avril got really beautiful. Her short hair fits her well, the emo yet tomboyish looks fit her so well.

"Couldn't be you also fell in love with her, Theo?"

"Huh no way"

"You were staring at her!"

Alice points at me and said "I bet you took criminology to chase her!"

"Why would I"

"Enough of this, whether he took criminology or not. I do not care."

Still through this day she's always acting bossy

"Meh, whatever let's eat guys."

Kenneth ordered Sandwiches, Burgers and drinks. Just some some light snacks to celebrate the graduation. After a while the group of friends decided to show off their diploma.

"Eh, diploma in big schools sure looks good."

"Since both of you pursued criminology. Why didn't the two of you go to the same school together?"

"We aren't close" Avril immediately replied.

"Hmph seems like your standards for a guy is high, how about a date with me, Avril?"

"Eh? Kenneth aren't you weird?" Alice replied

"Alice! You are truly the villain in my romance story."

"EH?!"

"Thanks but I'm not really interested in dating. I'll focus on my career."

"So cool Avril! Waifu material"

"Tsk, Alice"

I took a look on Avril's diploma and then it written on her name "Avrilyn Conquilla Nava".

"Avril are you related to Officer Nava"

"Oh yes, he is my father"

Father!? I only realized it after all these years. Since avril's mother is the one coming to school but there personality is so different. Perhaps avril is bossing officer Nava around? Lol.

"I met him In this cafe earlier."

Avril suddenly stood up and said.

"Wait what he is in here?"

"Yeah, what's the deal?"

"Where did he go?"

"Hmmm, we talked outside Infront of the clinic in 1st floor. He went to the Cypher site street"

"Tsk!"

Avril then ran off the cafe.

Father, you promised me that you will never investigate the site! So why?

"Geez what's the deal with her?" Kenneth replied.

"Should we follow her? I'm kinda worried" Alice suggested.

"You know what. Let's follow."

The 3 followed Avril while Kenneth carried their belongings.

"She is over there!"

"Why is she running damn fast?" Kenneth shouted.

As the 3 follow Avril, they don't realize they are running into a dead end. The 3 then reached the construction site. but something is wrong.

"The abandoned site? Why would she be here"

"There are police tapes here too. A crime scene happened. They are investigating the scene"

"When I talked about her father she just ran off, It probably might have to do with this construction site"

"Do you think we should go in?"

"No one is looking. we should go in"

"Probably"

Theodore felt a sinister aura coming in the site. It was something he never felt before.

I don't feel good about this but I wonder what's in here. It's the first time I see that in Avril's face. She is usually stoic and I really admire her that. Perhaps she knows something in here that we don't know?

"AGHHHHHHH!"

"Wh-Who is that? Somebody just screamed"

The Violent scream sent echos throughout the site tensing the 3.

"I-I am scared guys. What if something is in there?"

"Wait the minute"

As I recall Officer Nava went the other way and that way leads to this site. Could it be that he is here? Avril knew his dad is investigating a scene so this means.

"The suspect is here"

"What? How did you say that?"

"Guys, stay here for a moment"

"Wait! Theo why are you coming close?"

"This feeling, why does it feels so heavy?"

"Alice...."

I ran straight to the area where I heard the scream. I left Alice and Kenneth. I suddenly remembered Officer Nava confirming that there are alot of Oni in this world, not just 1 from 15 years ago. Could it be that-

Theodore Falcona stopped running as he saw Avirl sitting in the ground a bit far away.

"Avril!"

I came close to Avril but what is this?

"Blood everywhere. Police officers corpse lying in the floor. What just happened?"

"Gah!"

Avril stood and grabs Theo's neck

"Why did you follow me, did you even see the police tapes?"

"Same goes for you. Being an officer's daughter doesn't give you privilage to walk in here"

*Step*

"Someones here"

As we heard someone calling for help. Avril releases me and came near. We took a turn to the right and then we saw.

"Officer Nava!"

Officer Nava is sitting on a floor with his back against the wall.

"His arm is cut off!"

"Father! You told me that you are not gonna Investigate the construction site. But why are you here? I told you many times to not go here!"

"Avril! I am very sorry. Please just run away. Analyze the situation"

"His arm is cut off, if it's a knife attacker then father could've stopped it with a gun!"

"Officer Nava, tell me who did this?"

Step..... Step

"He is here"

Officer looks so terrified I've never seen someone this terrified

"A person with a mask?"

"Blood stains on his clothes, he is the killer"

"Heh heh heh" the mysterious person laughed

He is pulling something from his pocket?

"Ahh!"

"Avril!"

In a blink of an eye he stepped near Avril and grabs her and then!

"Humanity is truly peak of weakness! Now choose young man, the woman's life or the police officer's life?"

The thing in his pocket was a gun! And he points on avril.

"I-I.."

"Theo choose me, Avril still has more to live for"

"I can't let you die here Father!"

"How in the world!? What are you!"

Theo! there is no more time left . At this moment right now please choose Avril!

"Too late! MORON"
