19 Chapter 19: Lockdown

He was in a hurry as he booted up his computer. Time was almost running out,Derrick was supposed to be at the academy by the 8 am.

It was already 7:45 am, he wouldn't be able reach the academy on time. At least it took about 30 mins to reach the nearest station to the academy and from there was a 10 mins walk to reach the academy which is a total of 35 minutes.

Derrick almost lost the motivation to go to the academy today. He was only a teenager and effort wasn't something they liked and even more so on subjects that they lacked interest in. But slacking was one thing a teenager or practically everyone enjoyed and whats to no love a life free of worries and effort. Money making process isn't something people enjoy but when we do make money with the effort that we we put in is what brings people joy and this could never beat the joy of slacking while still earn money effortlessly.

He was panicking due to his race against time. In a rush he wasn't able to calmly remember his account passwords let alone sort out the mails properly. Contradicting his situation in the background, one could see the clean image of the room was long gone. Lucia was similar to cat in heat going wild all over the room leaving it in shambles.

Derrick ignored the mess in his room as he reached the ground floor almost running towards the station.

The road was oddly quiet and no vehicles were seen moving, only a few pedestrians were seen walking by the sidewalks. Even these few people were frisked and restrained by men in black suits. These black suits were patrolling the city.

"Excuse me, what's happening?"

"Young master, it was in the news yesterday, the whole city will be under lockdown for a week. The lifeguards had stated that it was for security purpose and it seems that a lab in the HQ was infiltrated."

One of the men in the company building enlightened him of the information that he was currently unaware of. Yesterday, was and adventure which completely drained disabling him from watching the new or any form of entertainment, he even forgot to eat the whole day. Furthermore , the culprit responsible for creating this mess in the HQ was standing right here.

The news did startle him a little but elder Grimoire words had at least mitigated the anxiety induced by his apprehension. Elder Grimoire did say that he managed to clear all the evidence but to what extent and how meticulous was the question? The book race were still books, their precautions aren't human level. Even though their existence was special, to Derrick, he still had doubts that the books might underestimate human technology and with the assistance of various espers within the lifeguard, his identity would be revealed sooner or later with time. And his worries lasted an instant ignoring the foreboding situation. His happiness outweighed his worry. Furthermore which student doesn't love a good amount of vacation. The only sad thing was that he wouldn't be able to see or meet the opposite gender besides Lucia. And his elevated mood plummeted instantly when he imagined a week with only Lucia.

Visiting his aunt was a priority but the lockdown prevented anyone from going anywhere. The only options left for him was just the Internet, porn and hentai. Two of them was out of the question as Lucia had already invaded his privacy.

Derrick was already in his room undressed, his eyes were admiring the apparent condition of his room with a grim expression. Previously he hadn't noticed but now that he wasn't preoccupied, his room was devastated as if a wild beast had snuck into it except the beast was Lucia.

'What is wrong with this bitch?'

Was it karma? Derrick had infiltrated a lab leaving it in a mess and now someone was doing the same to his room. She seemed to have developed some serious personality issues. Her mood swings were even scarier than women in period or any pregnant woman. His doubts of Lucia having a split personality started to resurface. The first time he had met her she was fighting with him and her personality was similar to a sadist but in the second encounter she had turned into a cute plus dumb psycho and now she was behaving like a beast.

Moreover, the relation between master and maid were none-existent instead he was the one babysitting the wild beast. For now, Lucia was already lounging on the sofa after her mischievous acts wearing one of Derricks leisure indoor outfits. Looking now, anyone would mistake her for a delicate beauty.

Ignoring his current trouble, his mind turned blank wondering what he should do with the ample time he gained from a week-long holiday. There was nothing he could accomplish since Lucia was with him, the room wouldn't be peaceful at all.

He could only work out in the basement of the company building. As he was wondering what he should do as if answering his question, a thick book along with a watch appeared out of thin air. It was his missing holographic watch but the appearance had changed a little in a good way. Instead of the regular silvery appearance, it was dark with reddish tints the straps were now filled with various inscriptions. The technology exuded a mysterious magical auro. Derrick knew this must have been sent from planet Gutenberg but he wasn't aware the watch was taken by the elders while sleeping.

He didn't immediately put on the watch yet as his attention was on the book. The covers were leather brown which was plain without any text. And as soon as he flipped its covers Derrick saw the image of Elder grimoire take form.

"Kid, the watch has been modified, the so-called Athena has been transferred completely to your watch. Be prepared before you wear it ,the watch will have to synchronise with all your sense and mainly your brain which will cause a little pain and after that the watch is yours"

Derrick thought he was dreaming as he heard Elder Grimoire a book speak technical shit.

"who do you think we are a kid? If not for the manpower required we could have already built hundreds of athena by now. We books are technologicaly advanced race too."

After instructing Derrick elder Grimoire's image soon disappeared.
