3 1st Day at Camp (Skating/New Friends)

After putting her stuff away in her room, Cindy decided to go skating. Realizing that her parents were right. This place is where she could forget about school, competitions and just have fun skating and hopefully also making some friends.

Cindy found the skating rink and the. realized why the building is so big. It had a huge skating rink (aka rink#1) in the middle for anyone and everyone. Then it had two others slightly smaller, one was for beginner skaters (aka rink#2) and the other for professionals (aka rink#3), in other words...for kids like Cindy.

Ken was walking around the skating rink #1 when he noticed a beauty pass him up and head to... rink 3???? He was once again dumbfounded, but only for a moment before he ran and caught up with her.

****CINDY'S POV

Wondering what was wrong, since he ran and stopped her from entering the rink, she thought she should listen to him. Soon realizing his impression of her. ( She didn't get mad at him though. He didn't know her and technically wasn't mean to her, he was just plain ignorant, judging a book by its cover.)

****************REG POV

He explained that was for experts and everyone inside really knew their stuff in regards to skating, she might get in their way. Cindy simply said thanks for the warning, explaining she knew how to skate out of other people's way. Then excused herself and went onto the rink. Bryan saw the whole thing from afar and was laughing too hard to even say something to his best friend. But Bryan was surprised at her composure, thinking that she might be used to stereotyping her by now.

Cindy started skating around the ice-observing the other skaters as well as the feel of the ice. Ericka, a usual there introduced herself and asked Cindy if she knew Ken. Cindy explained that they just met today. She said ok and if she needed anything to feel free and ask.

After Cindy got a feel of everything she started to skate. Ken watching from outside was amazed at her graceful movements and he wasn't the only one. When Cindy stopped and looked around, she noticed some people had also stopped and been watching her. Used to being watched she just said hi to those in her way on her way out of the rink and sat down a moment. She noticed the ones who had stopped to watch started talking amongst themselves in the rink. Thankfully, they had enough sense to move to the side so they wouldn't be in another skater's way.

Ericka ended up sitting next to Cindy offering her a bottle of water, which she gladly excepted. They started to talk about Cindy's skating and Ericka's as well. While they were getting to know each other, Ken and Bryan came to sit with them. Ericka greeted them in a friendly way, while Bryan introduced himself to Cindy complimenting her on her skills and Ken apologized for judging her. She said thanks to both guys and talked a bit about the Skating Center. Ericka then suggested that they could all participate in the couples skating in the evening and weekend afternoons. Ericka quickly looked at Ken, suggesting for him to help Cindy out in couples skating.

**** Cindy's thought

She didn't mind since she enjoys skating; until she saw the grin on Ken's face did she begin to doubt his 'teaching methods.' Feeling uncomfortable, she turned to Ericka, asking if anyone else was available to teach her couples skating. Ericka and Bryan both laughed, while Ken was getting ticked off.

**** KEN'S Thoughts

What in the world...who does she think she is, just because she can skate, is graceful, has a beautiful smile, pink lips...(shakes his head to clear his thoughts) she keeps rejecting me.....I mean I don't need to take time out to teach her. There are plenty of girls as she even mentioned who are waiting for me to help them....she should be grateful.

**************** REG POV

Cindy looked puzzled when Bryan explained that "Kennnnnnnyyyy ..... here (he started off in a teasing voice) "is a great couples skater as well as singles. (Bryans playfulness faded and he talked seriously about Ken's skills) He even helped a few girls with couples skating before, you have nothing to worry about." (Although Bryan did start thinking that maybe she did have something to worry about.....but would it be good or bad.....)

Ken then said that maybe she needed to see him in action, that maybe she was now judging a book by its cover and needed to be convinced that he is a talented skater. (hmmph, take that missy, how will you react??? -he thought). Cindy looked at Ken, straight into his hazelnut eyes trying to see if she could trust him.

********KEN'S THOUGHTS

She caught him off guard by looking straight into his eyes, he has seen her eyes before, but now they are looking at him straight at him.....he did not know what she was thinking, but he started to feel drawn into her light blue eyes.

******** REG POV. ******

Ericka broke the silence and suggested that they meet again at 8 pm that night for the couples skating and see what happens. Cindy and Ken broke eye contact both looking at Ericka as she spoke and they all agreed to meet up later.
