Something's Off

After that day.

The teacher shouted, "Pass your papers forward!" Before passing my paper forward, I looked at my answers and wasn't sure if I was going to pass or not.

My teacher noticed that I hadn't passed my paper yet, so he reminded me, "Hey Venice, what are you waiting for?" I panicked, thinking I might not pass, but I ended up passing it.

However, I wasn't expecting to get a high score.

"Sorry ma'am," I said.

I then noticed that Julia was present, but something seemed off.

She wasn't her usual self, always smiling. Instead, she looked sad. "Hey Julia, how are you?"

I asked.

She didn't reply.

"Julia, is there's something wrong? Please tell me," I urged.

She looked at me with a pained expression and said, "M-mom died.

"I was shocked by her words and immediately hugged her, trying to comfort her.

"I'm so sorry," I said.

I couldn't help but worry about Aziel.

After school, I went with Julia to the bus station.

I wanted to go to her house, but it was in the opposite direction of my house and getting late.

On my way home, I had a random realization.

I noticed how beautiful the planet was, with lights everywhere, buildings, mountains, and people.

Then, I remembered Aziel.

Did he have a girlfriend? I should have known.

I made a mental note to ask him.

When I got home, my neighbor Jaden noticed me and asked if we could have lunch together at school tomorrow. I agreed and promised.

In the middle of the night, I was doing my homework, a story about love, my favorite topic.

Suddenly, my phone rang. It was Aziel, He message me asking if I could help him with his missed schoolwork.

He was worried about getting a bad grade or repeating 11th grade.

I agreed to help him and also asked if he was okay and needed to rest.

I suggested that we hang out sometime and that I was sorry about his mother.

He thanked me before going to sleep.

While working on my story, I got an idea because of Aziel.

Since I admired him, I decided to title my story "A Secret Admirer."

It was just a short story, but I wanted to make it the best of the best.
