2 Why?

After leaving the shop Arjun headed towards the parking lot with an unsettled heart, no matter what she did in the past he never hated her nor did he blame her for what happened. He knew very well that he wasted his time during his high school and pre-university which made his scores average. Hence when she wanted to break up with him, he agreed to it without hesitation, so that he wouldn't keep her down.

Arjun got on his bike and started riding it back to his home. It takes nearly 30 min to reach his house from his university. He stopped his bike due to the red signal, as he was staring in front he could see a group of girls chatting with each other standing on the street, a girl with long black hair dressed in white T-shirt and blue jeans drew his attention. That image of the girl made him remember Harshitha, the girl in front of him showing her back to him resembled her.

As his train of thoughts kept revolving around Harshitha, he tried to distract himself by ignoring the girl and shifted his sights to his right. A truck was approaching at high speed heading towards the girl. Without even giving a thought about it, Arjun gets off his bike and ran towards the girl.

He held her hand and pulled her back. Due to the sudden action of Arjun, the girl couldn't react and was thrown off the street and she fell on the pedestrian's path. The girl was immediately angered and was just about to turn her head to see who pulled her, she froze.

BANG!

Just as she turned her head, something cold fell on her neck and her shirt. Her eyes widened at the sight she saw. But she couldn't believe it was him.

All she could see was Arjun lying there in a pool of blood, it was a miserable sight. People gathered around Arjun and started talking, some people were calling for ambulance while some were notifying the police through their phone.

The girl was still in her dazed state, finally a friend came towards Harshitha patted her shoulder. That pat on her shoulder was like a wake up call, she rushed beside Arjun and held his hands in her embrace, tears rolling uncontrollably, she asked "Why?"

Her tone was very hoarse, Arjun lying on the street couldn't identify her voice and his state of mind started to get blurry, "You look identical...to the..person I...lovee..."

Before he could finish his words, he fainted.

Outside the ICU ward.

Harshitha was standing right at the door of ICU, she still couldn't believe what happened. She was sure that Arjun would definitely do anything disregarding his own safety for her. She knew Arjun didn't recognize her, so why would he do it? Just because he believed she resembled herself? Was she too hard on him?

She was always in love with Arjun, his love for her made her life complete but she would never show her feelings for him. She felt blessed having him in her life, the way he treated her was enough to evoke envy and jealousy from her friends. Harshitha has always been the conservative type of girl.

She was studying Electrical in R. R. Engineering College, she and Arjun met each other during their first year of study in university. They eventually started falling in love with each. Even though Harshitha is considered a beauty in university, she didn't interact with boys too much and would end their conversation coldly. Arjun was the only exception she got very close to, even she herself didn't know why it was, but with him around she felt very comfortable.

After they finished their second year exams, Harshitha's college had arranged for an industrial visit out of town. When Arjun got this info from her, he insisted on going with her. But unfortunately she stopped him by saying his major has nothing to do with this visit, so Arjun can only give up on his plans. Even so he held complete trust in her so he never stopped or interfered in her work.

But when Harshitha returned from the visit, she started ignoring him. Arjun couldn't make out why she was ignoring him, but her friend told Arjun that when they were in the visit, they had organised a party and Harshitha was also drunk. Taking advantage of she was drunk, a boy who used to pester her in the past saying he loves her, actually took her into a room and they did that.

Of course even after Arjun heard all of this he acted like he didn't care, he now knew why she was ignoring him. Since Harshitha has always been conservative she didn't know how to face him. But Arjun didn't care about stuff like these all he knew was that her heart belonged to him.

While thinking about all these Arjun headed towards her college, he found out Harshitha still has an hour of class so he patiently waited outside the classroom.
