7 CHAPTER 7 GET UP

"She didn't eat a bite of breakfast again your grace."

Beau threw the paper work he was proof reading onto his desk frustrated at the news of Jane's maid brought.

"Not even a bite?"

The young servant shook her head, as she shrugged her shoulders.

"I never knew a person could go more than 4 days without so much as a bite of toast on their own free will."

The prince sighed pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Is she awake?"

"I'm not sure your grace, she has the curtains drawn and it's as dark as night in there."

Beau leaned back into his chair deep in thought.

*She can't continue like this she's going to wither into nothing at the rate she's going.*

"Thank you Rose, I'll go see to her myself."

The prince stormed over to Jane's room opened the door surprised by how dark it actually was. He slammed the door to wake her but the hill of blankets didn't move.

"This woman."

He muttered as he opened the curtains letting in the bright light of the morning shine through. He stalked over ripping the sheets and gasped surprised to find Jane in an extremely shortened version of a night dress, she groaned covering her face with a pillow.

"I told Rose I wanted to be alone today."

"Well you haven't eaten a proper meal in four days and hardly get out of bed. W-what have you done to your night dress, why is it so short?"

Jane with her hair a mess sat up squinting up at the prince due to the light of morning shining in her room for the first time in days.

"This isn't even short in my world's standards. The long dresses were impossible to sleep in, you know it's healthier to sleep naked. You sleep better too. But Rose said a lady could do no such thing"

Jane caught Baeu's eyes wandering up and down her exposed legs, a small smirk touched her lips.

"Gosh a man hasn't looked at me like that since my honeymoon."

Beau looked at her face stunned by her confidence.

"You know most women would normally scream if a man was to pull off their sheets like that unannounced."

"Well most women her are very outdated compared to my world then, it's very common for men and women to bed each other the first night they meet where I come from."

Jane stretched as she let out a long sigh.

*Every time I open my eyes I keep thinking I'll wake up back in my world, and that he'll be at my bedside holding my hand*

The hurt that her eyes held looked raw and unbearable, Beau sat in the bed and placed her legs on his lap, she let out a small gasp at the gesture.

"What ? I thought men and women take each other to bed on their first night of meeting where you come from?"

She blushed furiously as she pulled her legs away and stood up.

"They do. But I do not, I've only ever been with one my en-"

She cut her self off embarrassed, and stormed off to her make up table and began to roughly run her brush through her hair.

*As if I could make more of a fool of myself. This man is a prince for god's sake, he's probably been with countless women.*

Baeu smiled as he made his way to her at his table gently taking the brush from her hand, he began on comb through her hair he was taken aback at how similar it felt like his mother's hair, he let her dark strands sit in his palm for a thoughtful moment.

"I can't believe I didn't notice sooner."

Jane turned and looked at the prince curious.

"Notice what?"

"The only other person I knew with hair as dark as your was my mother… She too was strange like you. But my parents always told me it was because she was a star that fell from the night sky."

A small chuckle slipped his lips at the memory of his father telling the story of his mother to him one night before bed as a child.

"Is black hair really that uncommon here?"

Beau finished brushing out her hair and returned her brush to her nodding.

"Yes most people have blonde, red, light brown but never black as yours, my hair was the darkest in the land since my mother passed until you arrived that is."

Jane stood quiet and looked aher reflection in the mirror. She really did stand out compared to everyone that she came across in Stonia so far. Back in Korea her face blended in with the rest of the population, it was strange being so different from everyone else, it reminded her of her days in boarding school.

"I came to take you out of this room, you can't continue like this. My father will scold me if he found out our guest was unwell while being under my care."

The prince made way to her wardrobe taking out a casual dress made of cotton for her to wear.

"I really don't feel up to it, your grace…"

Beau threw the dress at her.

"Well as prince I'm giving you no choice, today I will take you to explore the kingdom a bit. I'm sure our worlds aren't so different, maybe it'll bring you comfort when you start seeing some similarities."

Jane looked at the dress in her lap and then back at the prince pouting.

"I'm not used getting ordered around, I'm used to being the boss."

"Well you have no choice about leaving this room, but I will let you choose where we explore first."

She looked up see the prince smiling like a child that was being told they were going on adventure and laughed out loud for the first time in days.

"Alright, get out and call Ros to help me get ready."

Beau walked forward offering his hand.

"I told her I would take care of you myself, I'll close my eyes while you put it on and just help you with your corset strings."

Jane felt her face get hot at the sight of his outstretched hand.

"I think that's a bit inappropriate don't you?"

"Not at all seeing that we're technically engaged under the Emperor's orders."

She rolled her eye and sighed giving up and then pointed towards the wall behind him.

"We'll discuss that issue later, I don't trust you to keep your eyes closed so turn around."

Beau laughed out loud before turned and Jane was surprised by the strong pounding of her heart in chest as she hurriedly threw on the dress most of the back undone with the corset laces having to be pulled in.

"I am a prince, surely I have some honor."

"Alright… you can turn around."

Beau turned instantly feeling hot at the sight of her lovely back, he was surprised by the imagine of vines and flowers etched into her skin.

"What is this on your skin?"

He stepped forward tracing a finger along one of the vines near her shoulder amazed when the image didn't come off where he touched.

"It's called a tattoo, it's like artwork but on your body… I have a lot more but that one my biggest one. It's permanent, Rose was terrified when she saw them when she helped me with a bath."

Clearing his throat Beau took the strings into his hands as he began to pull them tight occasionally his knuckles grazed the soft skin of her backend the beautiful art on her back causing Jane skin to rise with nervous goosebumps.

"You may think our world is strange, but I'm starting to think your world is even stranger."

Jane turned around her cheeks red with blush.

"Well hopefully wherever we are going I don't feel like that anymore seeing this is where I'm going to be staying now."

Beau took her hand nodding.

"Yes you are here to stay, soon enough Stonia will, become familiar to you and maybe even become your home."

Jane thought back to her true home and was shocked she wasn't sad that she wasn't there at that moment. The last four days she wanted nothing more than to return to Seoul, but as the prince pulled her out the gates of the palace, helping her get into a carriage she couldn't help but smile bright at the endless possibilities before her.
