Cathleen Deserves to be Happy

For almost half an hour the girl cried over her condition.

If Fred hadn't managed to calm her down, then it was certain that Cathleen would have collapsed again considering that her condition was far from stable.

"Take a rest first. This time I'll let you let out your cries because you'll be surprised to hear them, but you have to remember that your baby might feel sad if you get wrapped up in your sadness Cath," Fred said as he tried to strengthen his friend.

He didn't want Cathleen, who he knew to be the toughest and most rational of women, to become the opposite of the girl he knew.

Fred realized that Cathleen certainly had a lot of considerations and thoughts in her head, but inevitably Fred could position himself as Cathleen as well as a person who was a strength for Cathleen, right?

"Fine, cancel all my or Cathleen's schedules for today."

"You set up my meeting with the client tomorrow, and Cathleen's client will be temporarily transferred to me, prepare some teams to present ideas for the last client. I will check tomorrow at 8 am."

A statement that Fred indisputably said to his secretary.

'Huh~ Looks like I can return the favor this time Cath.' Fred's monologue in his mind after disconnecting his call to the secretary.

"Louise, you come to my office for a moment," said Jedd who had just come out of the meeting room.

As Jedd's secretary, of course, there was no refusal from Louise.

Quiet footsteps that looked normal at first glance from the outside. But in reality, it was not the same as what Jedd felt this time.

Feelings of restlessness and sadness were the things that made the biggest impression on his heart.

Louise's unexpected boomerang question slid beautifully from his boss's lips.

Oh, couldn't Jedd not ask such things?

What if Jedd didn't like what he said? Will it later get himself fired by Jedd?

Ridiculous thoughts were running through his head at the moment.

"Just say it, I won't do anything to harm you."

It felt like Louise wanted to squeal out the tightness that had just been released inside him.

"If I were in Miss Cathleen's position, I would certainly feel that way. Because you almost devote 80% of yourself to work, and not infrequently you forget the little moments that should be captured with Miss. But if I were in the position of a businessman, then the things you are doing are still within reason, it's just that you are one step ahead of the others, and therefore you stand out more than your business competitors sir."

A wise answer was finally given by Louise to Jedd. You could say that the young man was putting himself in a safe zone.

Jedd was silent for a moment, as he managed to digest a long sentence from Louise that made sense to him.

If he re-examined maybe Louise was right he had indeed neglected his lover, even though his lover's work could also be said to be busy, but as if in contrast to him the girl always made time for him whenever it was.

Did he make a mistake in prioritizing what he should have prioritized?

Has his ambition now made his heart and mind not think clearly like Cathleen did for him in the past?

"You're right, there's nothing wrong with Cathleen. She deserves a much better man than me to make her happy."

The cold, rigid, or ambitious face that Louise had seen from Jedd now seemed to fade before him.

Jedd looked lost in deep sadness.

'I hope you can be happy Babe, even if you choose not to be with me.'

"Louise, bring the documents that I need to study to my desk now and don't disturb me until 7 pm tonight. Ah, you can leave earlier than me today. I'll give you some time off."

He had indeed thought carefully about letting Cathleen out of his heart. But for his heart of course it would not be as easy as his logical thinking.

Afterward, Louise excused himself to retrieve the documents Jedd had mentioned earlier.

'Should I calm myself down for a while there?'
