Drake looked at the body, her body, in his arms. His heart was beating faster in his chest. But despite that he felt as if the time has stopped or the very least slowed down. For the moment, his mind was blank. He did not know what to do. Here she was asleep in his embrace, vulnerable to the world nestled in his warmth.

Involuntarily, his arms tightened and he held her closer to him if that was even possible given she was already plastered to him.

His movement made her move.

He thought she woke up but that was not the case. She stirred not to break away from him but to snuggle in. This for some unexplainable reason gave him immense joy. This felt right, she, in his arms. It was as if something inside him that has been missing for a while was finally found and returned to its original place.

She fits like a long lost piece of the puzzle.
