66 I am Not your Brother!

When Drake entered the room he felt the underlying tension in the air. He looked at Shirley and knew something was wrong. His first thought was, of course, about her health.

'Are you feeling well? Should I call the nurse back?'

'No need. I am fine.'

'Let's eat then. Nothing heavy for you, the nurse told me that you should start with something light.'

'Okay.'

No words were exchanged and the brunch was a silent affair. Although Shirley did not say anything Drake still felt that something was off. They finished their food and it was time for her to take medicine. Shirley sat on her bed and wordlessly took the offered medicine. Washing it down with a gulp of water she thought it was time to get some answers from her fiancé.

'Shirley, did I do something wrong? You seem upset.' Before Shirley could say anything Drake blurted out his inner thoughts.

'Wrong! What wrong could you possibly do my sweet and loving, fiancé?'
