67 Drake is Sick!

When dinner arrived, there was no trace of Drake. To say Shirley was not disappointed would be false. She had wanted to apologize for her behavior but now she can't do that. By the time she was done with dinner, she has lost all hopes of seeing him again. Shirley does not understand why she was feeling that way.

Truth to be told, she knew the reason. But she was adamant to stay in denial. She was merely deceiving herself. But for how long that will last? Truth has an uncanny way of sneaking up on people. She already knows, it is her stubborn behavior that was hurting her.

The dinner was done and she has just gone back to bed when she heard the knock. Someone was here. For a moment, Shirley thought that Drake had come. Eagerly with a smile on her face, she opened the door. It was good that she swallowed back her words on time otherwise she would have embarrassed herself in front of her.

Drake did not come. It was the nurse Angie who came to look for her.
