76 A Moment Suspended in Time

Shirley was reminded of the day when she dropped her friend Sam at the airport. She had cried as if she was saying bye to an old friend. She has never liked partying ways, ever. So when she came downstairs and saw that everyone was hugging some local people and exchanging gifts with them her expressions turned sour. It was a bittersweet moment.

Instead, she felt suffocated.

One reason was that she did not even know who these people are.

How could she?

As she has spent most of her time lying in bed, recuperating, and hence she did not have any bond with them. It would have been natural if they had left her alone. But nothing like that happened. As soon as someone spotted her these locals turned to her with wide smiles. In the blink of an eye, her hands were filled with baskets of farewell gifts which she felt that she did not deserve.

It somehow bugged her to no end.
