11 Endless

At the moment, Karma's hands were tied behind the back of the chair while his ankles were attached to the legs of the chair. The shackles binded him in such a way that it felt as though a snake had wrapped itself around the entirety of his body.

The throbbing headache that lingered after the drug intake only hurt him more. His body itself was in a similar scenario. After the drug intake, he had become completely paralyzed. Losing all ability to move.

Thinking on it, he realized that the true purpose of the shackles weren't simply there to bind him.

The shackles were an amplifier to despair.

And soon, Yui had applied blindfolds onto Karma serving to further bring out his despair. For a moment Karma went into a state of shock. Unable to see, move or do anything at all. He was motionless, sightless and more importantly powerless.

Simply a small rabbit unknowing of its surroundings waiting to be preyed on by the large ferocious snake lurking around in the shadows.

This tremor, however, was quickly intensified when a sudden knife had struck his right eye through the blindfolds. Without given the time to react or scream out, a second strike came with even more force than the last onto that same eye.

Immediately after, the agonizing cries of a sheep being feasted upon could be heard. Again and again, that same eye was struck. With the adrenaline pumping into Karma's system, he violently swayed himself in a desperate attempt to gain breathing room but that only lead himself along with the chair to fall.

"Look what you've done!"

Angered by Karma's inability to comply, Yui started kicking him ruthlessly.

Each and every attack lead Karma to cough out blood staining the white tiles he laid upon more and more. All the while, his right eye bled out uncontrollably.

As Karma became increasingly desperate, he shook himself with every fiber of his being, squirming around trying to further the distance between him and Yui.

But it was a hopeless act.

A person without sight or motion all the while being restrained to a chair could never escape a person with absolute freedom.

His instincts continuously urged him to fight. But how could he fight an unseeable enemy? How could he do anything when he was so powerless?

Maybe if he could remove the constraints placed on him?

But even then it wouldn't matter, would it?

So what if he had the ability to move? So what if he could remove the blindfolds?

Pulling him by the hair, Yui exclaimed, "Get up scum!!!"

With his head lowered and tears seeping through the blindfolds, he squirmed around some more attempting to pick himself up. The unbearable pain, however, made it impossible. His right eye was still bleeding and his body was bruised and increasingly broken by the second.

If I endure it all, I'll one day become strong. I'll one day have something worth living for.

That's right, anyone can become strong if they put in the effort. If they endure everything and push through every obstacle then they can defeat natural talent right? Even if they weren't born luckily, they could become someone, right?

RIGHT!?!?

No… of course they can't. There are simply limits on this world that prevent growth. How can anyone defeat natural talent? If someone's born a high tier then it's simply impossible for a cripple to overcome it.

The saying that hard work can defeat talent is all bullshit!

Endure it all? Why? Why do I have to endure, suffer, and despair while others live their lives given everything they desire?

Why do I start at a lower standing? Why is it that the world doesn't reward those who strive for strength of rather those who are lucky enough to receive It?

Just why?

It was during this time when Karma realized that his wounds were regenerating at a rapid speed. The eye that by this time was completely destroyed had been restored to brand new. The bruises on his body had regenerated as well. Everything that had been inflicted upon him was gone.

That's when he realized that everything that he just went through was simply a portion of what was to come.

Regeneration.

It almost sounds like a blessing. But it was obvious where this power originated from. The drug… It must have done something to him that gave him this power. But there was no reason for the family to give him such power, at least, not with good intentions.

That's when it hit him.

Regeneration. An ability so strong, it could even restore the eyes that had been stabbed repeatedly. With this power, he could survive anything, and to a certain degree be immune to death.

But look at that power from a different perspective. A drug that gives regeneration but has multiple side effects. A drug that no matter how much one tortures his or her subject, the subject would regen it all. Meaning that Karma would continue to suffer and suffer and suffer. An endless cycle of suffering and regenerating.
