Meeting the Cullens 2

"I can't believe it! Edward, I knew you had several issues, but, you being so paranoid is new to me. Just because you can't read his mind, you think Paul is infiltrating the Denali coven?" said Emmett.

"I agree with Emmett, Edward, you're being paranoid. No group of vampires could have an interest in infiltrating the Denali coven, only the Volturi could be capable of that, but Eleazar would surely know if that were the case," said Jasper.

Edward was annoyed that his family didn't agree with his idea. It could really be a coincidence, but it was a very strange coincidence to find someone immune to his powers.

While the vampires argued, they didn't notice, but Alice seemed to be happy again. If Paul could be immune to Edward and Edythe's powers, he could be immune to Alice's powers too, and that's why Alice couldn't see their future together.

"Discussing this is not important now. I'm more concerned about what we do about Alice's problem," said Edythe.

"Yes, if Paul is immune to Edward and Edythe's powers, he could be immune to Alice's powers too, so he could really be her mate, but then we don't know why he's with Irina," said Rosalie.

"It's possible that they're not really mates, they might just be having sex. You know that Irina, Kate, and Tanya have had many relationships in the past," said Emmett.

"It's possible. Edythe, you're closer to Kate, try asking her what the relationship between Paul and Irina is. If they're not mates, it could be complicated, but Paul could be Alice's mate," said Rosalie.

So the Cullens stopped talking. Alice seemed much more excited after this conversation. Edward was still suspicious of Paul, and the other vampires felt sorry for Alice.

They were going to investigate just to give some hope to Alice, after all, it was still possible that Paul could be her mate, but they didn't notice any loving looks from Paul when he looked at her.

So it was difficult for Alice and Paul to be mates if Paul didn't love Alice as well, after all, vampires were not like wolves, they believed that mates were soulmates, and Paul couldn't be Alice's soulmate if he didn't love her.

The Cullens thought about how Tanya loved Edward, but Edward didn't love Tanya, so they weren't mates, since all of them except for Jasper were vampires for less than 100 years, they had never seen a relationship like that.

Soon they returned to the Denali coven's house, Carlisle and Esme were still talking to the vampires of the Denali coven, actually, only Tanya, Kate, and Irina were talking to Carlisle and Esme, and Carmen and Eleazar were just listening.

Paul was also just listening to the conversation and only spoke when Carlisle asked him something, Paul noticed when Edward and the other vampires returned to the room, Paul saw that Alice was looking at him and smiling again.

Rosalie whispered something to Alice and she stopped looking at Paul, the house continued to be lively after the arrival of the Cullens who said they would stay for a few weeks before moving again.

It seemed like Jasper had lost control and almost attacked someone who got hurt, Emmett and Edward managed to stop him, but Carlisle quit his job and they decided to move again.

Soon Tanya went to talk to Edward, Carlisle, and Esme were talking to Carmen and Eleazar, Rosalie and Alice went to talk to Irina, and Edythe went to talk to Kate to find out more information about her.

Jasper and Emmett went to talk to Paul to try to find out more about him, they wanted to know if Paul would be suitable for Alice and even if he could be dangerous to the Denali coven because of what Edward said.

Paul took them to the room where he was staying. He had always found Emmett's character interesting when reading the books, but felt more similar to Jasper, except for losing control at the sight of blood and fighting skills.

"Nice instruments you have here. Edward and Edythe also play several instruments, but they prefer the piano," said Emmett.

"I think everyone who doesn't have a band or play in an orchestra prefers to play piano at home. For those who know how to play, the sound comes out better and it's enjoyable to listen to," said Paul.

"I agree, but I like to listen to other instruments because of jazz," said Emmett.

"Yeah, I thought about learning to play the saxophone, but I'd drive the other vampires in the house crazy with the noise until I learned to play well and not make mistakes," said Paul.

"That makes sense. When we moved in with the Cullens, Edward, and Edythe already played all the instruments well. It seems like we avoided a big problem," said Emmett, laughing.

"I saw that you have a lot of books here too. There are many books I haven't read. Did you buy them just for the university or do you like to read normally?" said Jasper.

"I really like to read. I'm very restless, if I don't entertain myself with something, I go crazy. That's why I bought a lot of books now that I'm living here. I also play instruments and go to university so I don't get bored," said Paul.

"I like sports. I always try to drag Edward and Jasper to do something with me. Before, I used to drag the girls too, but they didn't like it and started complaining to Rosalie," said Emmett, laughing.

"It's true. When Emmett doesn't bother me with sports, I'm almost always reading. If I have a book, I can stay in peace for days," said Jasper.

"It would be interesting to do sports too, but I think Eleazar and the girls in this house don't like that," said Paul.

"Then do as Carlisle said and come live with us. You can spend a few decades with us, we can do some sport every day. Like you, we'd be four vampires, we could do a lot more sports," said Emmett.

"I can go live with you in the future, but maybe it could be in about 12 years or more. I want to spend some time here with Irina, take some more courses at university, and then I can spend some time with you guys and come back in the future," said Paul.

When Paul responded like this, Emmett and Jasper quickly looked at each other, but soon disguised it. Paul was distracted talking about the future and didn't notice, after all, he was being honest and would have to live with the Cullens in the future.

"Great, 12 years pass quickly. Let's move now and if Jasper doesn't mess up again, who knows, we might move again in 15 years or more, and then you could come with us," said Emmett.
