1 Chapter 1

Ever wonder what a world where vampires, werewolves, zombies, sirens, any mythical creator exists well, It's hell or it is if you're like me born human. You see we humans make up 3% of the population. We are very rare but to make it worse most humans have strange abilities like super strength or hypnosis only .05 % is your completely normal human. I have to constantly watch my back as you can probably guess it's hard to live like me when I was younger my parents would be very protective over me. Only teachers and family members knew but considering most of my family are hybrids they thought I would grow to have abilities but here we are 21 years on this planet and still no powers. I still talk to my family but it gets very stressful all they care about is have your powers come yet. They don't get the fact that they're not gonna show up, that they don't exist and they never will. I still go to an all-race school where they allow any type of being. No one knows that I'm just a regular human and I hope to keep it that way.

I don't have any friends, well there is this one guy his name is Lucian and he's a ghoul (an almost ghost-like creature with a human presence.) He has long white hair that he usually has in a ponytail. Though at times it still hangs in his face he's of medium build and he's about 5,9 in height not very tall and not very short. His eyes are technically white but they do have a hint of gold in them. He also has very pale skin. It's almost like snow. He's been a close friend for a while. I first met him in my freshman year in high school. We both have changed a lot in that period but I think of him as a brother he's only a year older than me making him 22. He's a really fun guy to hang around. Of course, not everyone is perfect, and his one bad flaw would be he likes to get blackout drunk and high a LOT, but when he's sober he is brilliant I think the only reason he hasn't gotten kicked out for bad behavior is he gets almost perfect scores on tests and finals. This fact is why he is always my study buddy. Wait I haven't introduced myself have I. my birth name is Anjelica brown but most people just call me Andy as I have mentioned I'm 21 years of age and a human, I have long brown hair and dark brown eyes I'm 5,3 And I'm quite slim for an adult I try to keep my hair out of my face with ponytails. I have dark skin almost a walnut color.

Welp, here we are again, Hell on earth, aka my school, is called smoky university or S.U. no one calls it that by the name they just call it SU or like me they call it hell on earth its made up of several different buildings they are also ancient buildings most of the different buildings are dorm houses or classrooms but there is one really old building that no but me likes to visit it's the old Human dorm room because of how rare humans are the building has grown old with age and it hasn't been taken care of. There is one room that seems to not age though I go in there and will just read or do my school work and when I say that I only go there I mean it, not even my friends know where I go and It may or may not be located in the middle of the woods so ya that's a bonus.

Today was no different than the rest I awake to my alarm " yay time for school", u could practically hear the sarcasm in my voice I got my ass out of bed and went to the coffee machine of course coffee was the only god I worshiped, as my coffee was cooling Lucian decided he wanted to pay me a visit and so a giant

"BANG BANG", was sounded at my door at 7 in the morning " Yo, I know you're awake I can smell the coffee from out here," could he get any louder I thought as I opened my door and there he was the ghoul himself only he hadn't put his hair up witch means he needs a hair tie without a word I let him in and grabbed a black hair tie from my dresser and handed it to him. He was wearing a gray t-shirt with the words F*ck My Life on it ripped jeans and his classical motorcycle boots he put his hair up and that's when I saw the black eye that started all of the mess that would come after it.

"WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED", I didn't care if I would wake the inter dorm house up the only thing that mattered to me is where the mother fucker who hit Lucian lived and how long do you go to prison for homicide the bruise spread from the inner corner of his eye to his cheekbone

"Okay one language two, I just got into some trouble with Tyler's group and this would be my fault," he said pointing toward his eye

"This is not something to joke about, who hit you was it Tyler I swear " I exclaimed while I put down my coffee " wait here I'm gonna get changed, and then you're gonna tell me everything that happened ''. I then walked into the bathroom to change. I changed into my ghost riders tank ( ghost riders was a supper famous rock band that I and Lucian worshiped ) pulled on a pair of black skin tight jeans and my combat boots I pulled my dark hair in a pony and worked on my face while I did this I could hear Lucian moving around in my dorm & I decided that Lucian could be very quiet when he wanted to a that made me madder because Lucian was never quite he was almost always loud the only time I'd seen him quite was when he found out about his mom dying and he was quite the entire time at the funeral I know because I went with him. when I walked out of the bathroom he was flipping through channels while sitting on my couch and he had a cig in his mouth " Hey didn't I tell you no smoking in my house,"

"Chill Andy, It's not lit so technically I'm not smoking," he said matter a factly and lit his lighter just to tease me

I just rolled my eyes grabbed my now slightly cold coffee and sat on the couch turned to him looked him in the eye and said " tell me exactly what happened don't leave anything out "

He then explains exactly what happened he was at a party last night dancing and having fun drinking smoking doing exactly what I knew he to do and a girl started hitting on him he told her that he was off the market ( even though he's single) and she didn't take that well so she ran off and grabbed a cup of beer came back and dumped it on him and so he returned the favor she had been part of the vamps a group of vampires this including their leader Tyler so when they saw this act they kinda dragged him outside and one of the dudes hit him square in the face as always Lucian didn't retaliate and they didn't find that fun I'm just lucky Lucian is a ghoul if he wasn't they would have sucked up all of his blood for fun. When he was done explaining he demanded I not get involved " I'm not kidding andy they would fuck you up, if you got hurt, I don't even know what I would do ", the last part came out soft like he didn't want me to hear it

"But-",

NO, I don't wanna hear it the only reason I'm not a bloodsucker right now is that I'm a ghoul I don't want them to hurt you " he look at me softly " just please stay out of it "

"Ok, I'll stay out of it but if they come out you when I'm around I can't make any promises," I said with a smirk and he smiled back at me it was a sad smile but still a smile "well we should head to school oh ya do you want me to cover that bruise for you or," I asked looking at him while I put my coffee cup into my sink

" Nah leave it It's not gonna bother anyone, " He said with a nonchalant look "beside it will help ward off the woman I hope" that was said with a nervous look in his eye you see Lucian is what most people would call beautiful with is long hair deep sharp eyes and caring nature he has never had trouble getting the ladies though I've only seen him date one girl and that was in freshman year of high school

"Ya don't get your hopes up, knowing the girls here they will take one look at you and enact protection serves for you," I said with a chuckle he just looked at me and nodded "well wanna go now our class starts in like 30 minutes"

"Ya lets go"
