~Chapter 2~

"Dude why don't you just ask her out?" Chance's friend, Jonathan, asked.

"I don't think she likes me the way I like her..." Chance replied.

"Maybe you should, I don't know, TALK TO HER?!"

"I just did."

"Bruh, you need to have a REAL conversation, not just the typical "Sup."

"Okay, I'll talk to her when I get a minute, okay?" Chance requested.

"Okay. Hey! The school carnival is coming up! What if you ask her to go with you?"

"Oh yeah! I'll ask her when I see her again.." The group of friends waited there for a few seconds. Chance had his backpack on and his hands halfway in his pockets and was looking around at kids passing through the hallways. "Hey, I gotta get to class. See you guys later!" Chance began to walk away to class, latching both of his hands onto his backpack straps.

Later that day, Chance crossed paths with Katie again. Multiple thoughts were traveling through his head. "There she is. So gorgeous. Should I ask her? Maybe I should wait? Maybe she's already been asked?! Ugh, I should ask her so that nobody else does..okay, I'm gonna do it!" Instantly, Chance calls Katie over to the other side of the hallway.

"Hey, Katie! Could I ask you something?" She says nothing except sure and starts to make her way through the students. In Chance's mind, he's thinking, "Oh my gosh here she comes. DONT MAKE A FOOL OF YOURSELF!"
