Obligatory Author's Review [Too shameless to not give myself a 5] I know that this novel is far from a deserving score. I still have a long way to go before I am able to elucidate on Syn's personality and emotions as my female lead. I am also keen on describing the sceneries as much as possible, by virtue of wanting the readers to see what I really have in mind for the visuals. I did not make Syn to be a relatable character. She's nowhere near being one, but I wanted to narrate how she can overcome the challenges in her life. This story is very close to my heart. I do wish that my grammar and writing skills would be capable enought to do justice on my story. I will make sure to improve on it. Thank you for reading, and may you all have a wonderful day!
The title and the synopsis itself suggests that the story would be bittersweet. I took my time to read to examine how the author writes. I really liked how every dialogue - prose - narrative - have been done so intricately. I couldn’t say I’ve seen better writing. But I believe it’s almost the same level as one book about they Fey back when I was reading at the university library. The text is devoid of errors; in fact, I could see none. The writing is just so flawless. The pacing is good as well — not too fast or otherwise. Just right. The plot is constructed beautifully as well. So far I’ve only read about four chapters and will read more.
Because of the main theme of this story, I don't think it's for everyone. But I think if dark romance is the preference this will easily be one of the good ones that I've read. I'm still curious about what Syn's father sin was that made her turn against him. the ******* in the smut is there. build up is really good.
This read is not your typical romance but also not that uncommon. I like the dark tone of the story and how the author conveys the emotions of the characters. The descriptions are a thing to marvel at. The progress might be too slow because of how the author is focused on describing things but its the charm of the story. I wanna learn of the premise that made Syn who she is right now and Konrad too. I kinda expect that Tristand and Syn won't last but it's still breaking my heart. This is a highly recommended read.
It's like my vocabulary is growing along while reading this rich man story. What I like most about it is how the author conveys the emotions in a visual way. the descriptions are well detailed and the sentence structure is effective in building the ambience of the story. I personally like that Syn is not letting herself be stepped on by by people. i will just have a hard time in choosing who I want for her. I hope that she becomes happy.
When love happens unexpectedly while on the line of duty. Her duty is to act as partner with men without being their wives. She ended up getting attached and starts wishing she is the real wife and wanting more from the relationship. The male lead can't help but be intrigued and is captivated to the look on her face as she ends the alliance.
This story is like watching a tv drama! The characters are interesting and you can get a feel of who they are from the amazing details the author added. The events that are taking place from one moment to the next can be believable with the situation occurring. I’m interested in this Tristian character the most and hope his arc ends well since I have a feeling where the other FL and ML is going to go. ☺️ Overall, a recommended read for those who loves drama, modern day romance, and a splash of soft core.
Very well written story about a woman trying to succeed in life against the challenges she keeps facing. It might be a little hard to some due to the heavy subjects being explored, but the overall experience makes it totally worth it. Both the story and the way the story is done are very well handled.
I rarely put on a review because I'm prefer enjoying my time of reading. But, i wanna commend the author's intricate emotional narration.... The emotions are heartbreakingly conveyed that makes me relate with Syn... The descriptive narrations of the backgrounds and the actions of the characters are a treat to read they are literal eye candies. I'm torn on who to choose between Konrad and Tristan... But I'm leaning on Tristan for now. I'm looking forward to reading thsi masterpiece.!.! GOODLUCK GOODLUCK!!!
If there's one thing I like about this book it's the humanness of the characters. The MC is named Syn supposedly because her life is a life of sin as a prostitute. She takes on that lifestyle for the sake of her family. Like other heroic characters, she dismisses the good in her life for the sake of the good in the life of others. This comes with a price, she sees herself as a commodity and less as a person. When her emotions get the better of her when her humanity peeks its head she sees it as an obstacle. There's a chance for her to stop looking at herself as a commodity and as a person once more, but can she take that chance?
