It might be presumptive of him, but Konrad found the man easy to talk to. The main reason was how apparent Emir's emotion was. By simply looking at his eyes, anyone could see the old man's honesty. He's the kind of person who appeared to be a pushover. Yet in truth, he was merely waiting for the right opportunity to make himself heard.
Konrad had been dealing with his subordinates all week long. It was not an understatement to say that he had gotten sick of meeting his subordinates who wore their greed on their pretentious smiles.
