14 The City(3/4)

At the same moment as Eina started to shout, many people heard her and temporarily focused their eyes on the boy that could make someone so professional as Eina shout that much without a care in the world.

As this was happening, Misha was surprised by the fact that her friend was acting so unprofessionally in front of so many people so, repressing her own urge to tease Eina, she decided to intervene as she said

"Eina! Stop shouting, he knows his mistakes, isn't that ri--"

She was trying to get the help from the boy in question, Ethan but, when she pointed her eyes at him, the only thing she obtained was an icy gaze from his scarlet-gold eyes. She felt even some pressure from the boy, to the point that she stopped talking mid-way and just stared at him with a hint of fear clearly showed on her eyes.

When all of this was happening, Ethan was simply thinking that the people in the guild were rather stupid, he literally showed them that he had collected almost 250 monster cores, not just 1 or 2, this, at least for him, clearly showed that he had enough strength to just rush all the floors without a care in the world, but nobody seemed to care as they simply blamed him for his own lack of information that he already had on the various floors.

When he was in the middle of his thoughts, Eina calmed down and continued with her earlier behavior as she blamed him and said

"You can't rush the floors before even have enough information to go that deep in the dungeon, you know as they say, information are the real power in this world and, if you just mindlessly jump in, you could die the moment you reach the deeper floors, so please, keep that in mind from now on."

She said that firmly and in a normal voice this time but, she saw the icy gaze Ethan was giving her never dissipated from his face as he said

"You don't understand, Miss Tulle, i am strong enough to go even deeper than that but i simply lacked time and, about the information, i knew what awaited me from the start, as i fought hundreds of goblins and kobolds from the surface, those that were in the dungeon were simply child's play, yet you blame me, can't you just tell me where to sell my monster cores and assign me to someone else if you think i'm that stupid?"

She immediately wanted to argue that he never explained that he was simply strong and knowledgeable enough but, as she believed that it was always better to listen the lesson from a professional teacher that could give you all the details instead of someone else telling him what awaited him but, when she was nearly started to argue, she saw him looking at the selling-zone as he said

"I need to find an Inn after this so, if you excuse me Ms. Tulle."

When she was rationalizing his words, she simply saw that he was now selling his monster cores and, after he obtained his valis, simply left.

She was shocked because she thought they could simply understand each other after a little chat, and maybe she could even start planning for him when to listen to her lessons about all the floors from the 1st to the 18th.

Eina felt incredibly sad and, even if in the mind of Misha numerous thoughts of her teasing her like hell was spreading, she decided to repress them as she said

"He is an asshole."

At her words, Eina looked at her like there was a stupid person in front of her

"Yes, maybe he is but i think it was my fault that triggered the fact, maybe if we can talk and i apologize…"

Misha, seeing her friend in this state, now was concerned about her because even if she was in the wrong, that boy wasn't completely in the right as he never cared to specify his actual power and information, so it was a fifty fifty for her but, if her friend wanted to play this way, she decided to play along as she said

"If you want to apologize, you should give him a reward, what do you think?"

Eina saw the amused smile on her friend's face as she sighed.

"For you that would be the best option?"

This question surprised Misha as she expected her to blush or cover her face with her hands but, as Eina was simply staring at the "void" in front of her with a concerned expression.

At this she understood that, as she wasn't that bonded to the boy, she didn't want him to risk his life carelessly, so she decided to stop her earlier behavior as she composed herself seriously.

"Listen to me, Eina, he clearly said that he had power and knowledge to go even deeper than the 4th floor and, if it was the truth, that could simply mean he isn't rushing floors like a madman but had enough confidence to enter and exit without problems."

Misha previously wanted to argue that he not only was without armor or weapons, but he probably just infiltrated in the Dungeon without passing to the entry patrolled by the Guild, so she had her own doubts about Ethan himself.

Eina, now genuinely surprised by her friend's serious words, thought about them and finally decided to let the matter lay for now as she remembered

"I forgot to tell Ethan that Loki-Sama will receive him at the end of the week!"

Ethan, now in the way to the Hostess of Fertility, decided to do a light variation in his plans as he planned to see the Abandoned Church where Hestia and Bell started their own familia.

When he was there, he saw the abandoned church and, knowing that it was Hestia's home, he decided to interact with the goddess he always saw in the anime. He was quite envious of Bell because Hestia truly cared and loved him to a degree he had never seen in other people of this anime and, even in his first world, nobody was like Hestia.

When he was close enough, a voice spook at his back

"Hmm, i don't know why you are here, maybe you want to join a familia?"

As he heard that voice too many times to even be able to mistake her, he simply had a smile like a radiant sun as he turned to her and, seeing the blue eyes and mid-thigh length black hair tied into two twin tails which reach down to her mid thighs, he simply said

"No, i don't want to join your familia but, if my circumstances weren't the way they are now, i would've joined your familia the moment i stepped foot on this City."

The owner of the voice, Hestia, was really shocked by the answer of the boy as she expected something like he got lost in the city, or he wanted to join a familia but, she never could have predicted something so strange as she could feel the words of the boy were not only sincere, but she saw that he had a nearly "amorous" smile directed at her.

She didn't know why someone she had never seen before could give her that kind of look but, seeing his scarlet-gold eyes so sincere, she couldn't help but blush rather hard as she said

"W-Well, so why do you wanted to see me?"

Her question wasn't that abnormal but, she saw the boy simply smiled at her question and, as it was the most normal thing in the world, he said

"Because i wanted to see you, some people only said bad things about you and, as i saw that you were searching for familia members but nobody wanted to join i…simply felt sad for you, i may be considered stupid but, i wanted to see the goddess that tried so hard but nobody wanted to consider as a proper goddess."

Ethan was very aware of the fact that goddesses could see through the truth in the words of mortals but, as he was sincere speaking about users that in the forums talked bad about Hestia, and his feelings for her were the truth, she simply couldn't see through his facade.

Hestia was trying to think and, as she wanted to argue about so many things about these people, she was simply staring at him with a blush on her face. Without even knowing her, he was simply saying things so romantic that her heart was filled with warmth, and she had only few questions for the moment as she was determined to know him better.

"What's your name…?"

Ethan, simply replied with the same smile that never left his face from the moment he saw her.

"My name is Ethan and, as i already know you, i will simply call you Hestia."

Hestia, at this moment, was happily giggling as she was amused by his own choice.

"Yes, that should be Okay! It's bad that you don't want to join my familia, you know? We could enjoy the solitude in the church, ehehehe ~"

At her words, Ethan simply answered

"Yes, i heard the rumors about you long ago but, as there wasn't your familia listed, I'd chosen to get into the Loki familia, if only i knew it before registering, i would've joined your familia from the start…"

Hestia felt there was something "wrong" in his words but, as the most of them were the absolutely "truth", she decided to let him go and instead asked on her own

"That would have been amazing! But don't worry, i won't blame you ~"

A moment later, the stomach of Hestia rumbled and, with a light blush on her face, she decided to get along with him for a while.

"Could we go to get dinner? I'm hungry!"

Ethan, simply felt he was lucky to have encountered her so soon and, as he planned to enjoy her "care" for himself before Bell would undoubtedly come, he resolutely said, with a hint of teasing

"Yes, we can go to the Hostess of Fertility, i will pay for you ~"
