2 Isa, the queen fairy reincarnated

Isabella walked out of the elevator once she arrived at the top floor of the apartment. She had bought the entire floor which encompassed two expensive units so that no one could disturb her. She let Dorota stayed at the other unit so they both could enjoy their own privacy.

"Isa, I'll wait here. Please take your time!"

Isabella halted and turned around when she listened to Dorota's high-pitched voice. "I will go to the meeting alone," she told her with a matter-of-fact attitude. Yet, it made Dorota became hysterical.

"I-Isa, no! no! no! This is my job, let me do my job!" she pleaded with her whole body. Her knees dropped on the floor.

Isabella cringed when she saw her timid attitude. Timid and annoyingly stubborn. Where was the scheming, evil attitude she once possessed?

"Dorota, who are you to tell me what I must do?" she said, her lips twitched in irritation. Dorota who was on her knees began to pounce the hard floor with her head while saying 'I do not dare!' so many times.

"I-Isa, I'm your servant. Please use me!" she begged with reddened eyes. Yes, since the fated day a year ago, she vowed to do anything for this woman even though she had to sacrifice her body.

"I never approve of it," Isabella said coldly before she approached the door of her own apartment. While unlocking it with her unique password, she said: "Servant isn't as lowly as you're right now, Dr. Dorota Song," she peered at the woman who was still kneeling in the hallway and without saying anything else, she entered her apartment.

Inside, Isabella dropped her pretense and the mighty aura of a queen exploded. She groaned as she removed all the clothing on her body, leaving only her inner garments. Right at the entrance hall, she sat in a lotus form to channel the excessive energy she had been suppressing all day long.

'My queen, are you okay?' a small voice echoed inside her head.

'Pickley, please consume my mana,' she requested. Beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

'Leave it to me, my queen,' the little voice replied. That was when Isabella felt a suction force inside her head. Her whole body trembled excessively until a sticky, smelly odor began to leave her pores. As the smell thickened, her body was also getting weaker until she flopped motionlessly on the floor.

Isabella closed her eyes as she waited for her human energy to return and for her leftover mana to absorb it. Her mind wandered to the first day of her awakening.

She wasn't the real Isabella T Dorelia.

Since the beginning, the Earth had been assigned with guardians, and fairies were the guardian of the forests, of the whole plants in the world. As for her, she was the fairy queen of the fairies in the forests who became the sole witness of human extinction. A quintillion of years in the future was where she came from. Her doom began when she tried to revive the last forest that was burned because of human greediness.

As the only guardian left, she was powerless. Even with the aid of Pickley, her most-trusted aid, she couldn't revive a single tree and the Earth was no longer suitable for seed planting. Without the forests and the plants, her purpose was ceased to exist making her vulnerable to death.

As she watched the last human struggled for air, she wished she wasn't born as a guardian but a human instead. So that she could teach humans the importance of being humble...

And so she was reincarnated... to the sickly dying body of Isabella T Derolia. Little did she know that human greediness was beyond the word itself. However, like the case of Dorota, they could change. How they changed depending on the individual, like Dorota who only at the brink of death did she turn a new leaf. Although, her new leaf was an annoying one.

'Queen, how is your new body?"

Isabella revealed her obsidian black eyes when she heard the clear voice of Pickley; a small green fairy who was now hovering in front of her very eyes.

"I'm okay. Pickley, watch the entrance. I'm going to consolidate my mana," she gave an order while slowly getting up to a lotus position.

"Aye," Pickley saluted before she flew to the entrance and strengthen the shield which weakened due to the collapse of Isabella with a hymn.

After accomplishing her task, she watched her queen channel her evolved human energy to every inch of her body. Her pale skin gradually gained its normal color. Pickley cheered at the recovery as she also thought that the human body was really weak. Although they have a big body unlike that of a fairy, their essence was weaker. Besides, they possessed little to no mana, which made her queen suffered a lot when she tried to accommodate her massive mana in her new body.

'Queen, why are you still keeping the annoying Dorota? You know more than her about the world. You don't need her assistance,' Pickley talked telepathically to her queen once she saw her rose from her lotus position.

Isabella smiled a beautiful smile; a rarity to the outside world, but not to Pickley who understood well the demeanor of her queen.

"I need her help to understand the strange emotion left by the previous owner of this body," she explained.

Pickley tilted her fairy head. 'A strange emotion? What is it?' she asked curiously. However, she understood why her queen was curious about the thing called 'emotion'. The fairies of the forests had only one sentiment which was to protect the forest. Therefore, when her queen was reincarnated into the human body who was famously known as 'moody' in their fairies world, she would experience all the different emotions of a human. But, her queen was all-knowing, what emotion did she not know about?

Isabella soaked her body in lukewarm water inside the big bathtub in a contemplation mode. Pickley, who had abandoned the task to guard the entrance, flew above the water surface and rested on her queen's right knee.

'Queen?' she probed her to answer faster. Isabella popped a smile and said, "It''s called love,"

Pickley shuddered. Even though she had never felt love, but she had heard about it in her past life.

'Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruits,' she mumbled telepathically and then her wings flapped vigorously showing how worried she was toward her queen. This thing called love would only make her queen suffer. Because her queen did suffer when the last tree they tried to revive didn't blossom as she wished.

Isabella let out a soft chuckle when she read the thoughts inside Pickley's tiny fairy head.

"Pickley, human love is a wonderful thing, but also a scary thing. That's what I felt when I found out that Isabella's fiancee was cheating on her. The hate I had towards him at that time was unbearable that I thought of killing him with a twig of death. However, the love she had for him made me spare his life," Isabella sighed. Love was truly complicated.

Pickley pondered for a while. The explanation was too complicated for her to understand.

"So how does annoying Dorota helps you in this, my queen?" she asked.

Isabella was now done with her bath. She drained the water inside the bathtub and reached for the towel folded at one of the shelves at the corner of the big washroom.

"Dorota still loves her abusive husband. I want to see what kind of love it is," she clarified while putting on her skincare.

Pickley tiny lips formed an O. So love was an affection someone had towards someone no matter their attitude? She nodded her head when she came up with a shallow conclusion of what love was.

Suddenly, her wings fluttered actively again. She circled Isabella's head excitedly.

"Pickley, stay still," Isabella glared at the little fairy, warning her.

Pickley pucked her lips and said in a melodic voice, "My queen, what if one day you love someone who...hehehe," Pickley covered her lips with one of her wings and laughed mischievously.

Isabella rose an eyebrow and Pickley began to sing a self-composed song.

"In a lalaland of the fairy~there was a famous story~of the moody humans~ about when a man and woman fall in love~mating in glory~"

She began to sing, however, not even half of the song, Isabella had clipped her wings with her slender fingers.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch! Spare your humble little fairy, my queen!" Pickley cried out. Tears of gold began to fall from her shining eyes.

Isabella caught the gold teardrops with her palm before releasing the mischievous fairy.

"I will squeeze all your gold if you act like this again," she warned her. Pickley shook her head fearfully.

"Queen, could you at least thank me for the gold? That means money, right?" she pouted. Seeing her sulking, Isabella chuckled.

"Thank you!" she said before leaving the bathroom. Pickley followed her with a moping expression on her small face.
