6 Chapter 6 : *Hidden*

A/N : As I'm posting these chapters together as a first release, this chapter title is hidden. Will reveal it at the end!

Snap. Crackle. Pop!

Making another retort, I chuckled inwardly seeing everyone's excitement. Now that I think about it, this is their first time seeing a Pokemon Egg hatch, isn't it? Well, the same could be said for me, too! I've seen many eggs hatch from the anime and I've hatched a shit ton of eggs myself, either hunting for shiny Pokemon or breeding Pokemon for competitive battling, basically hatching Pokemon individual values.

These are known as IVs for short, and in the games, these IVs determined the overall potential of a Pokemon. These IVs range from 0 to 31 points, and they factored into each of a Pokemon stats. People would generally hunt for all six stats to be 31, or 0 or an even/odd number mix depending on the type of Pokemon and moveset they were going for.

Lots of planning was involved to say the least if one was to breed Pokemon for competitive battling. If I didn't find myself dead tired from work in my past life, I would do that in my spare time, and I participated in lots of online competitions. In real life they hosted tournaments as well, and every so often I would use my time off to go to those Regional, National and World Championships.

But none of that exists anymore sadly. I'm in the actual Pokemon world now! There will be a lot of firsts for me in this new world that is ready to be explored. Heck I don't even know if Mega Evolution exists yet. We will just have to find out on that one later.

And if I could develop a bond with Serena who should arrive in Kanto at start of next year for the Summer Camp, it would give me more reason to go to Kalos. I'm not sure if I will explore the regions chronologically, but if I don't, Kalos or Alola will likely be next after Kanto. Sorry Sinnoh, as great of region you are and even containing one if the hottest girls in the entire franchise, you will have to wait. (A/N) I bet we all know who this is)

But now that I think about it, Summer Camp is supposed to be held in summer, isn't it? I'm not sure on Professor Oak's though process on this next one to be hosted in the dead of winter, haha! I let out another retort to myself.

These next couple of moments passed as if time itself had slowed down. The solitude of the falling snow which began to pile up on the grass and trees all around us. The falling of the snow made it as if time itself had paused around us five.

Cracking noises became more frequent as the egg cracked apart more and more. In the next moment, we were interrupted by a loud hissing sound, only for us to shiver immediately after. This blast of cold air was a lot colder than what the air around us felt.

I couldn't tell exactly but it felt well below 0 degree Fahrenheit at this point, definitely not suitable for children, unless they want their body to turn into popsicles. But thankfully it only lasted for s brief moment, as strangely enough it became a bit warmer. We were then blinded again as the incubator top popped off, as well as the egg.

After that, as we regained our vision, I suddenly felt a swift small shadow rush into my embrace, providing me with the same sense of comfort I felt earlier. We then heard it release a cute yelp, similar to that of a fox, letting its head nuzzle into my arms.

"Vulpix!", the creature yelled out happily, announcing itself to the world after just being born.

Holy shit, was the first two words I could think of. Of course I didn't say that out loud of course. I may have the mind of a thirty year old adult, but I was still in the body of a four year old child. Professor Oak would probably yell at me if I slipped out a curse, haha! Mom would probably give him an earful too, wondering where exactly I learned that word from. So let's not do that.

Everyone was looking at the newborn with amazement looking at the creature in my arms. Just as it said just now, this creature was one of Kanto's Pokemon, a Vulpix! But it caused such a snow storm to appear before our very eyes. Gary saw Vulpix in my arms, confused. Not to mention the fur on its body was completely different in color.

"That's...a Vulpix, isn't it? But why is it's body completely white and purple? Aren't Vulpix normally red? This one is different!", Gary said, seeing the white and purple Vulpix in my arms.

"So what if it's different? This is still Big Brother Itsuki's first Pokemon!", Ash retorted back at at Gary.

"It's really cute...", Green replied with a smile.

Despite the cold, she still reached out her left hand, aiming for Vulpix. After she made contact, Green started to rub Vulpix's head, and felt its fur. I didn't know what gender it was, but still, Green felt a soft and cool sensation. But I immediately yelled at her for doing this.

"Wait, don't do that, Green! Quickly retract your hand!"

"Huh? But this cutie feels so soft and pleasant. Why would I want to stop--!?", Green tried to ask back.

But Green soon saw Vulpix stand up, shifting its body as if she was ready to pounce on her. Green then saw Vulpix stare right at her. Without warning, Vulpix opened its mouth. All of a sudden an icy blue energy formed inside it, before it condensed into powdered snow.

"Vulll!", Vulpix yelled out, before blasting Green's upper body with a bunch of powdered snow. I presume this was Powder Snow, an ice-type move that generates powdered snow. It didn't take long before Green's upper body became that of a snowman, or snowwoman in this case?

Just like how Brock went about to get his Vulpix in the anime, Misty ended up getting her face blasted with fire from Vulpix. But in this case, Green got blasted with snow.

I then saw Vulpix turn around, only to flaunt its six tails at Green, before jumping back into my arms, nuzzling its head against me.

"Vulpix!", Vulpix yelled out happily once more. I could only sigh as Green's eyes popped out of the snowball on her head, flinging away a bit of snow. Ash couldn't help but laugh.

"Hahaha! That was funny. Bet you didn't see that coming, Green!"

Yet Ash felt a loud thump strike against the back of his head, Gary had hit him with the palm of his hand.

"Hey! What'd you do that for, stupid Gary?"

"Don't laugh at Green, dimwit. Green just doesn't know about Vulpix's behavior. You see, it doesn't like anyone it hasn't acknowledged yet."

"You've done your homework, Gary. Alolan Vulpix does indeed carry their same temperament as Kantonian Vulpix do. She's quite the attitude, huh?", I replied to Gary. Even though I didn't still it's gender, but with the feeling I've been forming with her, I could feel this little guy was a cutie, and female.

"Itsuki my boy is right, Gary. Even I'm surprised to see a regional variant here in Kanto. Well it makes sense since this egg came from Alola."

"Alola?" Ash asked again, appearing confused.

"How could you not even know of the different regions we have? No wonder you're such such a dimwit."

"Stop calling me a dimwit, you sore loser!", Ash retorted back, appearing angry. A look of anger appeared in Gary's eyes after hearing that.

"What'd you just call me?"

"Blehhhh.", Ash replied, sticking out his tongue in disagreement.

Seeing Gary and Ash stat fighting again sure does bring back nostalgia, especially since it's happening right before my very eyes. Seeing these two also received a giggle from Green.

"Hehehe." Green giggled, before she started to remove the snow on her body. Her head became visible again, and as a result her hair was now wet.

"Come on you two, since the egg finished hatching, we don't we head back inside soon? But before that, would you have a Pokedex on hand Professor? I want to do a reading on this cutie.",

"Of course. I decided to have a spare Pokedex on hand.", Professor Oak replied, reaching into his lab coat. He then handed me a red Pokedex, which seemed to have a flip screen attached. I activated it, only to see the screen on the bottom light up. The Dex light also turned on.

After fidgeting it with a bit, I looked at the Alolan Vulpix resting within my arms, as Dex gave us a reading. And sure enough it was female, and I finally knew about how Pokémon's potential laid out. It was the same leveling system like the games had, the one I'm all too familiar with! I was inwardly happy it went this way, instead of another way to detail a Pokémon's potential.

Even I became stunned as I listened to Alolan Vulpix's stats.

Gender : Female.

Vulpix, the fox Pokemon. An Ice-type. Vulpix is covered in white fur. It was discovered on Mount Lanakila in one of the Alolan Islands in Alola. It's breath can reach a temperature of sixty below zero, freezing anything that it touches.

Level : 1

Ability : Snow Warning

31 Attack 31 Defense 31 Special Attack 31 Special Defense 31 Speed.

Moves : Tail Whip, Powder Snow, Heal Bell, Frost Breath, Freeze Dry, Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Blizzard.]

Holy shit, I said, inwardly cursing again. Further down it showed each individual stat, but I don't need to show those.

I've come to learn that stats in the video games besides IVs are just flavor text in the anime. Sure IVs are game exclusive as well, but they at least show a visual representation of how powerful a Pokemon can get. But here its a real world for me, battling will likely happen just like how it was in the anime, where weaker-looking Pokemon can beat the crap out of more menacing looking Pokemon.

But also a point to note, besides this girl's powerful moveset right off the bat, was that it was a Shiny Alolan Vulpix! That's why its fur was tinted pale purple instead of its normal blue!

So it really turns out my first partner partner is going to be a Vulpix! They're really cute but really strong too. Mine especially so considering it has its hidden ability, Snow Warning, which whips up a snow storm each time it enters battle, granting its own beneficial terrain during battle.

And that's was probably why it caused this weather phenomenon! I look forward to working with you, my Shiny Alolan Vulpix!
