Chapter 26 :A Surprise Visit

*Sounds of an airplane landing*

*Ding*

"Please watch your step while exiting the aircraft. We thank you for flying with us today.", a feminine voice said over the intercom. Her voice spread throughout the inside of the plane.

After the voice ended, many people began to stir inside their seats or start stretching their bodies. Lots of them were waking up, as it was a long flight.

Alola was based off of Hawaii. Kalos was based off France.

Imagine taking a flight between the two. It was about a twelve hour flight. And I get the joy of doing it again going to Kanto from Kalos.

I myself slept most of the flight after settling down an excited Lillie. According to her, she hadn't really taken a cross region flight besides her trip to Kanto for Summer Camp ten years ago.

And after waking up, what do I find?

Lillie currently resting against my shoulder, snoozing away. Snowy could be seen resting in her arms. Some small drool escaped from her mouth. It appeared she was having a nice dream, as she was currently smiling.

Of course I was in first class for the duration of the flight. Money really isn't an issue for me anymore. Being adopted into the Oak Family, and earning the moniker, Little Professor, for becoming one of the youngest known Professors, I have quite the fortune I can dip into now. Buying cross region tickets in first class going from Alola to Kalos then Kalos to Kanto was no problem for me now.

Also something to note the seats only consisted of two per side compared to the rest of the cabin, where it had three seats per side. That meant no third party could be in our way.

And as a gentleman, I let Lillie have the window seat while I took the aisle seat. This let the two look out the window until they fell asleep.

And now twelve hours later, we arrived in Kalos!

Seeing Lillie still asleep, I decided to poke her cheek.

"Hey Lillie, time to wake up. We're no longer in Alola.", I spoke out gently.

"Just five more minute...", Lillie said softly.

"Haha, then I guess I'll just leave without you.", I grinned.

After I said that, Lillie's eyes snapped right open.

""Please don't head on without me, I'm awake okay?", Lillie said, pouting.

I ruffled her hair to console her. Snowy started to stretch her body.

"Haha, it was just a joke. The deboarding has begun so lets get our luggage."

"Okay! Are we really already in Kalos?"

"Sure are. We arrived in Vaniville Airport. Serena's house should be less than an hour away from here."

"Hehe, Serena definitely won't see this coming.", Lillie giggled.

We then proceeded to get out of our seats, grabbing our luggage from the overheads. My body was pretty stiff so we took our time to stretch before the exit latched onto the plane.

As we were one of the first people up front, we made a quick exit after bidding the flight attendant farewell Though it wasn't long until we were stopped tgh moment we exited the gate.

"Yo, Little Professor, Miss Lillie. Welcome to Kalos.", a firm voice said.

All of a sudden, a voice called out to us from the left.

Lo and behold, a middle aged man wearing a purple polo shirt and dark gray pants with a white lab coat appeared before Lillie and I.

I stood there dazed for a good moment.

"Professor Sycamore? How on earth did you know we were landing in Kalos?"

"Haha, let's just say a little Fletchling came to me. Come now, the car is waiting. Do you two have anything at baggage claim?"

"We don't.", I said as we shook our heads. "We packed relatively light with just a couple of suitcases."

"Good. I do have something for you as well, I'll explain along the way to our destination."

We could only nod our heads as Professor Sycamore remained mysterious on the matter. Looks like he has something for me too.

We proceeded to walk down the nearest escalator, slowly making our way to the airport garage. To be honest, I wasn't expecting Professor Sycamore to become our own chauffeur, haha!

Seriously speaking though, we did inform Grace that we were going to pay a visit, just so it's not completely unannounced. It will be a surprise only to Serena. Grace probably informed Professor Sycamore of us coming here. Ever since I first visited Serena's house through a past vacation, I saw Grace was quite acquainted with Professor Sycamore.

Meanwhile as we left, a childlike giggle suddenly echoed in the airport. Yet no one seemed to notice the voice at all, as if they didn't hear it. Lillie and I did though.

Mew appeared in front of the escalator we left not too long ago, looking at it with interest.

"Mew!", Mew yelled out happily. It then plopped right down at the top of the escalator, and started to ride it down, with other travelers completely oblivious to Mew...(A/N Mew vs Escalator, who wins?)

Several minutes of wheeling suitcases later.

We arrived at Professor Sycamore's car and got in. He had a car that could detach its roof, letting us feel the Kalos breeze. We were now on the open road in Vaniville Town, and no matter how many times I see it, it's a very vibrant town, full of color. Makes you feel right at home.

I sat in the front seat while Lillie sat in the back with Snowy and Amber.

"So you've said we've got a destination, we wouldn't happen to be talking about the same one would we?", I asked Professor Sycamore.

"Well I've got a good guess to where you're heading. I've got Grace to thank for that."

"Thought so..." I said, letting out a sigh.

"Haha, don't sweat the small details. Like I said previously, I got a little something for you. But that's not the only reason I'm making this trip. Serena is also ready to start her journey. Did you notice the small case in the back?"

"You mean this one?", Lillie questioned with interest.

Lillie then looked at the shiny silver case sitting in the middle in the back seat next to Snowy and Amber.

I also looked back and saw it, becoming surprised.

"Don't tell me...you're personally delivering one of Kalos's starter Pokemon to Serena? Don't you typically hire staff for that?"

"Normally I do, but not if it's with someone I'm well acquainted with, I like to personally pay a visit. Moreover, it's like I'm fainting three Pidgey with one stone in doing this." (A/N Killing mons don't happen often in this AU, it's not like the manga in that regard. So I twisted this expression a bit)

"I get the first two, but what about the third?"

"Well you're flying back home to start your journey too, aren't you?"

"Don't tell me...", I started to say, only to have my eyes turn wide.

Lillie saw this and became surprised as well, as if she came to a realization.

Yet Professor Sycamore didn't say anything more and just smiled, cruising along the road. Seeing him not talk anymore, we decided to watch the passing buildings of Vaniville Town.

As we did, Mew saw our car heading away, and decided it had its fill with the escalator. It vanished from the airport, and flew in the sky in the same direction.

Several moments later.

The sound of car doors closing echoed in front of a gated house. Inside of it we could see a Rhyhorn resting in front of a doggy-style house off to the side.

After opening the gate, Amber yelled out happily and approached Rhyhorn.

"Ninetales!", Amber greeted Rhyhorn.

Rhyhorn became startled seeing Amber arrive, as its been a while since Rhyhorn last saw her. But Rhyhorn became happy and greeted her.

"Rhyhorn.", Rhyhorn greeted. Rhyhorn then looked at the smaller Vulpix behind Amber, and became curious.

"Vulpix?", Snowy asked, tilting her head a bit.

As the three got acquainted, Lillie saw this and giggled.

"Hehe, so this must be Rhyhorn. You mentioned Rhyhorn belongs to Serena's mom, right?"

"Yeah. Grace used to be a famous Pokemon Rider here, but last time we spoke she said she is retired now.", I answered Lillie.

"Is that so?"

"I wonder if Grace heard us already? Let's go knock.", I further said.

The two nodded and we proceeded to the door. Locating the door bell, we rung it.

*Bzzzt*

"Hi, I'll be there in a moment!", a feminine voice suddenly from inside the house.

After another moment, the door slowly opened before us, revealing Grace. A look of surprise appeared on her face seeing us three arrive, but then it turned into a smile. She then approached me and gave me a hug.

"So you were actually able to make it, Itsuki! How was the flight?"

"Haha, it was fine. We slept most of the way. This is Lillie. You've seen her in our calls before." I answered Grace, introducing Lillie

"H-Hello."

"Nice to meet you, Lillie. You really are a beautiful girl looking at you in person. Welcome to our home. Looks like you were able to locate them, Professor."

"Thank you...It's nice to meet you too, Miss Grace.", Lillie said, blushing a bit from her compliment.

"Sure was. Why don't we get down to business? I got a drive back to the lab after."

"Haha, you can just call me Grace, Lillie. You are my daughter's friend after all. We can go talk inside Professor. And speaking of which, is that knucklehead still sleeping?", Grace asked.

She then turned around and placed her hands at her hip. The first floor had no one inside of it. Serena was no where to be found.

"Heh, Serena always is a late sleeper. I've always found myself waking up before her.", I replied to Grace with a laugh.

Grace could only sigh hearing that.

"I swear that girl...", Grace started to say. She then raised her voice, letting it carry through the first floor.

"Serena, we've got guests! Go freshen up if you haven't already!", Grace yelled out. The four then proceeded inside as Amber, Snowy and Rhyhorn remained outside to play.

Meanwhile, as the four got settled inside, Mew could be seen in the skies not to far away. It located Serena's house easily, and it tilted its head a bit. It then let out a childlike giggle, before it sped down to it...
