21 Ryuko

"Toshiaki-san was right as usual. We've done nothing." Itsuka sighed.

"As much as I'd hate to say it, I agree. It's going to be a pain telling him about my experience here. I can imagine his smug face already. He loves saying I told you so." Momo said.

"Really? I wouldn't have guessed."

"No one would have. He's so monotone that when he has these bursts of emotions it's a surprise to all of us. The sports festival was one of these moments."

"Man, he seems like a lot of fun. If only he spoke more."

"I try to get him to speak to more people outside of the small circle of friends he has but he's not interested."

"I wonder what he's doing right now. Probably getting tutelage from a great pro-hero." She sighed again.

---------------

"I think I could fit 100 grapes in my mouth. They're small enough right?"

"What? I don't care." Edge-shot said to his intern.

"Oh sorry. I didn't notice I was thinking out loud." I had been staring at a bowl of grapes for quite some time.

"Don't do anything stupid while the guest is here. She's only here for a friendly meeting between two heroes."

"Why do I have to watch two middle-aged heroes discussing their lives. Can't I sleep." Yasuhiro complained.

"I'm not middle-aged, I'm only in my 30s and you are basically an investigator on the stain investigation so you know most things people don't. I need you to show her the progress we're making."

"Who's coming anyway?"

"Ryuko Tatsuma. The number 9 hero."

Yasuhiro vaguely knew the name and what kind of hero she was. "The dragon hero? I forgot that she works around here."

"She'll be leaving the city soon so I invited her for tea. She's a good person, I think you'll like her."

"She has to be a good person. She's a hero."

Before Edgeshot could reply the door rang and he went to go get that.

Toshiaki could see the door from where he was sitting so he had a nice view of the door.

When he opened the door, as he said, the

"Please come in."

Edgeshot led her of them into the living area which consisted of a few couches and a T.V.

"This my intern Toshiaki Yasuhiro." He introduced.

She was wearing casual clothes and had her hood on, probably to hide from the media. She was wearing quite a baggy grey hoody with a matching grey baggy trousers. When she took her hood off it revealed her mature face which was considered one of the best looking the hero society.

"Why does he look so gloomy? what have you done to him, Shinya?" The Dragon hero said while taking her hood off.

"That's what he normally looks like I didn't do anything."

"Pleasure to meet you." I bowed

"How respectful. I'm sorry if I'm prying into anything, but why do you wear a blindfold. I've been interested since I saw you at the sports festival." She asked.

"It's a quirk thing." That was his go-to answer for most questions about his blindfold.

"That doesn't answer the question. But I'll take it." She laughed.

Everyone took their seats and Toshiaki had planned to leave once he had introduced himself but Edgeshot gave him a look which sent a pretty clear message.

He resigned himself to his seat and listened to the conversation which had begun.

"How's your investigation going? I was quite surprised when I heard that you were heading the investigation."

"Why don't you tell her Toshiaki? This will test whether you've been listening."

"Do you trust me that little? The investigation is going very well. We have everything planned out and now we're just waiting. If the Hero killer does show up in hosu he has a small chance of actually getting away. But small doesn't mean impossible."

"You say it as if he could get away. Whys that?" She asked.

"We can't plan for every possible situation. We've planned for the most that we can but that won't stop anything. We don't even know his quirk so it's quite hard to do anything that could plan for that. Worst case scenario is that he has a warp quirk that can let him leave whenever. But that's a rare chance too."

"That makes sense. I would help if I could but I'm needed in other places so I wish you the best Shinya."

"Ryuko-chan could you do me a favour?"

---------------------------

"This is time for my break. Why did you have to accept."

"My senpai asked me for a favour. It'd be rude to accept."

"No, it'd be more work for you to accept. It's like people don't know how to refuse something." Yasuhiro replied.

"Let's just get this over with." She said as she took her hoody of revealing a pink shirt with a flower on the front.

Edgeshot had asked for Ryuko to fight Toshiaki once without the use of a quirk. While Toshiaki was against this at first his boss wouldn't allow him to slack off on this one.

"Fine."

"Are you ready?" Edgeshot received confirmation from both sides. "The loser is the one who gives up or goes out of bounds."

Ryuko began the assault first by running towards Toshiaki and aiming a punch to his stomach which he easily avoided. The follow-through of the punch gave Toshiaki a chance to attack before she fully stopped so he tried to land a kick to her stomach which much to his surprise was caught.

Now that his foot was firmly placed her leg she used her strength to lift him off the ground and threw him towards the wall.

'How frightening.'

Before he got the wall he repositioned himself in the air and managed to stop before he hit the wall. He landed in a crouching position so he had to get up first.

When he looked up he saw Ryuko rearing up for a kick like his face was a football. Once she let all her built up momentum out she threw a kick towards his face.

Toshiaki bent his body backwards and used his hands as support to hold his body upwards.

He flipped up and used this chance to sweep the legs of Ryuko who looked off balance due to the failed kick attempt.

"You're not bad." She said as she was on the floor. "But you made one mistake, Yasuhiro-chan" She laughed

Toshiaki didn't understand what she was saying but he looked at his foot and it was out of bounds.

'Wow, I'm an idiot.'
