27 Contract?
The adventurers are surrounded by the orcs. Luckily they still calm and immediately create a formation to protect the mages. Shield users will block the attack, while the other adventurers will attack through the gap.
I said that I want to help them, but I don't want to waste my time. I create a handgun and aiming at two orcs who block the exit. I precisely aim their core, thanks to my lens.
I pull the trigger and the bullet pierced them easily. There is no sound of gunfire because of [Stealth Mode] the same as when I killed Alicia before.
Nanoparticles are really powerful, isn't it?
[That because we got precious material like Dragon Scales. I can manipulate it and use that for enhancing the performance of Nanoparticles]
[I don't know such material would be able to fuse with Nanoparticles in the first place. When we absorb it before, the Nanoparticles "merge" with Dragon Scale. It increases the endurance and power tremendously]
[Maybe we could find the origin of Nanoparticles in this planet, Master]
"Oh, whatever, let's take that as a side quest. Return to Earth is the first priority."
Have a powerful suit already make my family targeted and If I found the source to make another [Nanosuit], the war might be happening.
I don't want that to happen...
As two orcs collapsed as corpses, the party dumbfounded for a moment. They are shocked by the unnatural sight in front of them. The rear guard who fights with 3 orcs don't know the situation, but sensing something off, they are looking back for a second.
"What the hell are they doing by spacing out?"
Suddenly, the leader, Stollas-san yelled toward them.
"Run now, escape to the previous floor!!!"
Everyone who hears his voice return to their sense and begins to run. Stollas and five adventurers are trying to buy time for the adventurers who run toward the exit.
**Change POV**
Who kill those orcs?
Most of them were confused, scared and shocked. The orcs were died with their core destroyed.No one could see the attack and from where it comes.
If the attacker was the enemy, they would be the next targets. But Stollas immediately realized the situation, that the exit path was clear. He shouted at the adventurers to escape while he will buy some time for them.
Stollas use his battle axe to block the fierce attack of the orc. With his current strength, he won't be able to kill a single subspecies orc.
"We need to buy time for them to escape."
Stollas scanned the surroundings and notice he got some help from five adventurers.
A single woman facing an orc with her rapier. Her name is Suzune. She has long black hair like the Heroes from a different world. She held her rapier, dodged the great sword while launching an attack at the opponent. Her speed continues to become faster and her attack slowly makes a wound on the thick skin of the orc.
She is moving quickly around the orc, evading the great sword with minimal effort and thrust her rapier. The rapier has better quality than a mass-produced rapier, but her attack didn't manage to finish off the orc.
"Suzune-san, I am ready!!"
Another woman shouted at Suzune, she is a mage. Her name is Lilia. She has purple bobbed hair.
Suzune leaped to the side while rolling on the ground to take distance.
"Earth Hand...Earth Spike!!!"
The ground where the orc is standing reacts to Lilia's voice and protrudes up.
Lilia used two spells.
Multiple hands made from earth appeared from the ground and caught the orc. But, the orc struggled violently and forcefully destroyed those hands.
However, it was fine as long as it stopped moving.
A large thorn in the shape of a cone made from earth immediately thrust out from the ground. The sharp thorn is larger than the orc. Half of its body is pierced and stuck at that place. Even so, the orc still alive, but at least we could stall his movement.
Those two are very talented individuals. Suzune is silver ranked duelist, while Lilia is C-rank adventurers.
If they bring 10 more people like them, they could conquer this floor, probably...
"Hey, old man, need help?"
A single boy approaching Stollas.His name Rick, he was a beastman. He has a pair of wolf ears on top of his head with brown hair. He doesn't carry any weapon, but Stollas know Rick's power.
"Thanks, lad, I will hold him for a moment and give your strongest attack!!"
"Got it"
Stollas tried to create an opening, patiently block every attack from random swing from the orc. The opportunity arrives as Stollas parry the great sword and makes the orc defenseless.
Rick immediately delivers a serious blow with his fist. His attack connected with the orc's abdomen, let out an impact that the shook the air and sent the orc flying.
He is a gold-ranked duelist and that power is the proof. They already beat two orcs down, so they need to finish one more but the last orc already killed by 3 people. They are a party called Sword Wings, B-ranked adventurers.
Stollas and other people begin to take the monster's core and their materials. Suddenly a large group of orcs appears from behind them. Apparently, they heard the sound of the battle and come here to help their friends.
"Leave the materials and escape now!!"
All of them are running at full speed and safely reached the previous floor. But before running, Rick glanced back for a moment...
"Perhaps it's just my imagination"
He muttered with a small voice that no one can hear that.
On the 25th floor, they were greeted with a strange sight. Countless monsters corpses lying on the ground. Their cores were destroyed and clearly, they were finished with a single attack as their body is still intact without any wounds from a battle.
Stollas's group using the map to choose the safest routes to prevent them from wasting their energy. Their objectives today is to break the record of the deepest floor that ever reached in [Cave of Greed] Dungeon.
The reason for their failure was most of them were never reached 26th yet, so they are unfamiliar with sudden attacks from the orcs. Protecting a lot of people is also hindering their progress. Even though, many high-ranked duelists join their party, they don't have a decent weapon to pierce the thick skin of the subspecies orcs.
"What's happened here?"
"We don't know anything, Stollas-san. The monsters already killed when we escape to this floor."
Massacres of monsters, but there is something weird here. The cores are the most valuable item from monsters and you could get money from them. You also could sell the body materials from rare monsters. That's why adventurers come to the dungeon in the first place, to create money.
But someone destroys the cores and leaving their corpses after killing them?
What is their aim?
"Let's get out from this dungeon now."
"But the material..."
"Indeed, they were subspecies monsters, but what if the one who kills the monsters were enemy?"
"No, I think they're not enemy because they help us before..."
Yeah, someone helped them before, so they could escape from the orc's attack.
"We don't know their objectives, please think about your safety first...Someone who capable of killing a lot of monsters with a single attack, even after our strength combined, we will be lost for sure."
Everyone can't argue at that point, and reluctantly leave the monster's corpses to exit from dungeon.
They found a similar situation until the 20th floor, a lot of then were regret because can't bring precious materials and sell them.
**Change POV**
After the adventurers leave the 26th floor, I tried to use [Teleportation] to move to the 1st floor. Luckily this time, I don't crush into the wall or hit someone.
"Wait, you could use teleportation?"
Arcadia genuinely surprised, asked me from my back.
"I thought you already know since you don't speak anything when I fight [Goblin King] before."
"I see...you know there is a skill called [Blink], same as [Teleportation] but the distance is short...Back when you facing [Goblin King], I thought you were using [Blink]."
"Is [Teleportation] very rare?"
"Yeah, I don't even have it. I also doubt my family would have that skill. Tell me, how far you can go using it?"
"I can go to the place that I've visited before. I also can move instantly as far as my eyes can see."
"That's a very convenient skill. One day, I will ask you to return me back to my home."
"Say that after you get down from my back."
"Whatever...Ryuga, I want some food...I am hungry..."
"You are adult right, why I must take responsibility to feed you?"
"You are my MASTER after all.", Arcadia flashed a shit-eating grin to me.
I feel my cheeks twitching slightly. I wonder who is the servant between us.
My stomach also begins to growling. I never have a decent meal when I arrived in this world. Even my [Nano-Suit] will somehow help me to endure my hunger, in the end, I am still human and need foods to survive.
Raised in a wealthy family, I used to have a delicious meal every day. The bread before is quite hard and very dry. It will make you thirsty after one bite. The taste is awful and probably all the food here are lacks flavor.
Maybe the Heroes from the past didn't spread their cultures yet huh...
I exited from the dungeon and undo my [Stealth] and begin to walk to the next destination, the Arena. The structure is similar to Coliseum.
The size is very big and standing out in the middle of town even someone who first comes to Babel can know it.
I quickly look around to find the staff to help me out. Finally, I spotted a place where the Duelist gathered. There are huge crowds of people using armband like me. Their color were still lower than silver ranked.
"Arcadia, wait for a moment. I want to ask the procedures first."
"Well, whatever...Don't make me waiting for too long..I am hungry...You hear!!!"
"Then probably you could sell your scale or blood and get some money...if you're guy, I will call you gigolo for sure."
"I don't know what is this 'Gigolo' thing, but I am pretty sure that is rude right!??"
"Fine, also don't make any troubles for me."
"What do you think about me?!"
"Useless dragon who doesn't know anything about humans in the first place, selfishly join into my journey, and treating me as a servant even though I am the Master here!!"
"How rude~, I never interested in small fry like a human. Every time they see me, they will tremble and run away. Also, I join your journey to find my answer. Regarding the Master-Servant Contract, that wasn't my fault! Good grief...This is the second time for you to called me useless, remember this, I will definitely become useful in the future!!"
"Of course, at that time you will demand something unreasonable to me because of the Contract right?! I wonder why I need to give you a reward after asking small favor before huh?! From the first time we arrived at Babel, I am the one who worked hard to gather information. In the dungeon, I am the one who killed the monsters to take their core and sell them later. This time, I also will work my ass and join as [Duelist] to find a scrap of money to feed you?! What is the benefit of the Master for me?"
Ah, Finally I able to say it at least...
Arcadia suddenly becomes quiet and looking down. I can't see her face, but I hope she will reflect on her mistake and try to help me even just a bit.
"I am leaving now..."
I turned my back to Arcadia and begin to walk-
Suddenly someone touching my right hands, it's very soft and smaller than my hands but very warm...
I turned back to find the culprit, and find Arcadia holds my hands. I still can't see her face but clearly, she is shaking a little.
"Ple..ple...ase...don't leave me, Master..."
She is calling me Master now when she usually called me Ryuga?
Her voice is shaking, along with her body...
She slowly lifted her face and I found her on the verge of tears. She approaches me with puppy eyes, her cheeks were dyed in red, but somehow her smile is unnatural, and I could see veins bulges on her forehead...
For most people, when someone asks them with that pitiful face, they won't be able to reject them, as for me, I was laughing at her.
"Arcadia, I never know you can make a face like that. Where the "mighty" Arcadia gone?"
"Mas..master, you could vent your anger to me, you could say whatever you want to me, but please don't...don't leave me...dammit.."
This is strange, she usually won't be acting meekly like this. Seeing this gives me goosebumps...
"Stop with that act, it's disgusting...You may trick other people, but I already know your true nature, it won't effective against me."
"This isn't acting, Master..."
But I can see you smile twitched and you made a fist with your hands. She clearly angry, but what was the point of act like a pitiful girl?
[This is because of the Contract!!!!!!!!]
I can hear Arcadia's scream at my head.
