64 The Sooner the Better

'…'

Wang Shu stared fixedly at what he could see of An Bing Qing's face without taking back his hand; because of his high point of view, he could only see about a third of her fine facial features with the rest being covered by her black hair sprinkled with shiny drops of dew.

His mind seemingly went blank as his gaze on her grew deeper but as he was Wang Shu, he hadn't dropped his alertness on his surroundings at all but had upped it since he had awoken from his unexpected sleep. Therefore, the attention he had on her was almost completely retrieved when he perceived the orderly movements of the men in red; all were going to the east, stopping at plenty of kilometres from where they were. It looked like they were gathering.

They weren't talking or so he saw; he couldn't hear anything. He was only using his ability to manipulate light by now as it allowed him to encompass a wider area that was what he needed because of his earlier slump of falling asleep; he wanted to have a good panoramic view of what was going around them.

Because there were still people rushing to that point, he didn't spread his soul sense yet and just waited for all to gather as he observed all their actions for any sudden change but time passed and aside from more people arriving nothing worth of his notice happened there and neither on their surroundings; he hadn't kept his eyes away from other places.

At least, not until he thought all of them had grouped and he was about to switch from using his light technique to soul sense.

Kilometres to the west, there was a red figure that had just entered his range of vision. From the red of the robes and the direction he took, Wang Shu was sure the figure was another member of that group.

"Hmh..." After giving it a quick thought, Wang Shu didn't focus on that person but on the congregated flock; he had his thoughts regarding the incoming person so he acted with reservations.

His conjectures and thoughts were confirmed after a while; they weren't wrong in the slightest. That person belonged to that group and not only that, for the way the already assembled people behaved with his arrival, he held the highest rank amongst them in regards of hierarchy.

With his guess being correct, he pondered a bit while the people clad in red formed their squadrons in signs of listening to their leader but he didn't give a look to the arrangement of their files, he was looking all over the place without focusing on one spot.

'Sigh, it might be better to know', he thought before suddenly putting his sight on the person who was the last to arrive. He had decided to see the looks of the man as before he had just seen a bit of his body frame and clothes; the speed at which that man had advanced to go to their point of reunion had been enough as to not asses him earlier, after all.

And how right he had been, the strength and ability of their leader was many times better than that of his subordinates because just as Wang Shu's eyes had landed on his face, that man had frowned and directed his sight at where Wang Shu was seeing him that it was just empty air with sparse rays of light; his frown had increased before finally shaking his head when he didn't find anything out of place.

"Ancient Inn's Second Elder, Men Kun", Wang Shu murmured as he diverted his attention from that gathering place; it wouldn't be good to venture more.

He looked down and saw An Bing Qing still soundly sleeping without any worry; it was a pleasant sight yet a frustrating one at the same time as real trouble had come.

They had to leave the area of interest of those people as soon as possible; the area where the best token cards were supposed to be.

'The sooner the better but… Hmmh…' he tilted his head to a side in wonder before reaffirming his thought, 'Indeed, the sooner the better'.
