61 Recalling Some Words of the Past

The man with the cold voice, who was the youngest there, spoke again, "We? What can we do if the tracker isn't even that sure? You said you detected the movement of what seemed to be two people. What is the use of that soul force you are so proud of, if in reality, you can't detect anything accurately? They were looking for one person and according to the information they got from their master, it was someone who could trespass the formations as though they didn't exist but who also was weak in cultivation. And the person being weak meant they wouldn't have a problem on finding it with their trackers.

"Hmmh, that old man has some ability", An Bing Qing said after hearing their talk. She wasn't impressed at the fact that the old man had spotted her but Wang Shu.

"With the previous noise, it isn't a surprise".

'Huh?' She widened her eyes when she heard a reply that she wasn't waiting for.

'Wait, did I...' she closed her eyes, 'Did I said it aloud?' then, she opened them and looked up; she met his deep inky eyes that had his usual placid expression for an instant before slowly lowering her sight and pressing her lips, thinking, 'So, it was my fault again'.

'Why did I...' Wang Shu was confused despite his calm semblance. He had blurted such words without thinking and didn't know why. Being found out wasn't something to be upset at, he had been in worst situations where other people had literally screwed up things and he had never gotten mad and now was no different; he wasn't angry.

Moreover, this situation was technically his fault. They were indeed discovered by her come and forth on the same place but in this case he knew he couldn't count with her to protect herself; even though she had some ability, the men who were following them were more capable and strong. Therefore, it was his job made sure they were safe; then, why had he reprimanded her? And why had he diverted his attention as to be practically found?

His awareness had been divided all this time as usual. But he had been using his abilities and that was pretty tiresome if you considered his no-so-good condition; he also needed to put more focus on controlling them and much more on the barrier. Because of it, from time to time, when he was sure the red-robed men were in a distance where they couldn't detect them, he dissolved his barrier.

However, before taking his well-deserved rest he would first spread his soul to all his length for him to be aware where the men were exactly to later put himself intervals of time to scan the area again.

When his barrier was active, he had used another way to perceive the men clad in red and that was using his light element skills. He had made use of the moonlight rays to know where the men were. Such skill was more precise at day and practically useless at night but the moonlight tonight was pretty bright that he didn't wait till tomorrow morning to return her to her team.

At length, he looked skywards and shook away such thoughts but it was something difficult to do as he felt something slightly hit his chest.

He looked down again and as he had thought, it had been An Bing Qing. She was supporting her forehead against his chest.

An Bing Qing, as well as Wang Shu, was wandering in her thoughts since he had spoken out his sentence but she had many expressions on her face unlike him.

'I always end making some trouble. Sigh…' she thought disheartened. She was more sensitive to that feeling whenever she was with him. The worst thing was that she couldn't help herself from doing it.

'-You need to focus on the situation before you, but also be aware of what's happening around you…' such words came to her mind, Wang Shu had told them to her before. There was more to it but she had already been pondering on the first part. Her head had been a mess with the whole thing the first time

'Focus but also aware on the things around me… hmmh… wait… around me… I have just hit something…'
