69 First Trial’s Results (1)

When Wang Shu arrived where his team was, he was met with a disguised reproach, "Eldest brother, you are back and safe and sound. That's great. All of us were worried at your sudden disappearance".

Wang Shu smiled as he usually did as he looked to the young man in front of him; it was his younger brother, Wang Shi, who was born of the second wife of his father, Mo Yan Xiu.

The worry on his younger brother's face matched his words; he was clad in white like Wang Shu but the thread used to embroider some leaves and suns was golden, adding to his appearance the adequate quantity of mightiness as his facial features were soft.

"Then, it is great that I have come back, second brother. Let people worry isn't good". Wang Shu could have chosen words with a more open meaning but he wasn't in the mood and it wasn't his style either. Therefore, he said a simple sentence which was more than enough to let his younger brother break his head; though Wang Shu didn't want to mean anything profound that implied Wang Shi but him.

Even so, Wang Shi was left thinking without words to reply. Seeing that, Wang Shu passed by him, going back to his place.

Meanwhile, An Bing Qing and An Yu Yong had yet to reach An Family's team.

It was to be expected as An Bing Qing was dragging her feet. From time to time, she will raise her head to steal a glance to the stern An Yu Yong who was walking three steps ahead of her and some of those times, she would open her mouth, wanting to speak but in the end, no word was uttered.

Hence, they reached their team after a couple of minutes more in the subtle silence that existed between them; the noise around them wasn't enough to break their quietness.

Once she saw An Family's team members, she gave an apologetic smile to them before maintaining her head down as she stayed beside her eldest brother waiting for all the clans to take their positions to see this trial's results.

The results of every trial with the exception of the last one which involved fighting in this arena were announced in the same way. All the teams had to arrange in a form where a circle was formed around the centre of the arena; the result will be displayed there.

As the noise of steps subsided, a clicking sound was heard. The centre of the platform sank before the floor opened. A part of the floor elevated one meter around the three-meter hole made in the floor. Then, a crystal-like pedestal with a nonagonal prism shape came out of the hole; it had nine meters in height and it just barely avoided having contact with the circumference of the hole.

All the people were quiet and had their attention completely drawn by the pedestal with a nonagonal prism shape but it wasn't for long as Men Kun's voice rose from the pavilion, "Well, it was a long week. A long week that wasn't utilized to the fullest; there were many token cards that weren't found". He stopped and looked at all the youngsters on the platform, thinking, 'Just who of those people is the one I'm looking for? That bastard will make me suffer punishment for sure. Ugh, should I pick someone randomly and present it?' He had been wrecking his brain since this test had finished but as with the other ideas he had got, he dropped it, 'That will only make the things worst if I'm found out. Hmm…'

"Tsk, Men Kun, Men Kun…" The blue-robed Men Hai whispered; Men Kun had got into silence so suddenly and hadn't responded to his calls for a couple of seconds.

His name resounded in his head for a brief moment and then, Men Kun came back to his senses; it was the annoying voice of Men Hai. He furrowed his brows before seeing how all were waiting for him to complete his speech and with a slight embarrassment, he continued as though nothing had happened, "Sigh. Even so, I should admit that many teams did great despite not finding any of the high level purple token cards. Hence, with nothing more to say, let's see the results".

When he finished his last sentence, he passed his left hand over the surface of a thick crystal-like bracelet on his right hand which made the pedestal with a nonagonal prism shape light and form a list of names when the light dimmed.
