His mind seemed to fade in and out wantonly. One minute he would recognize the wooden frames of a baby's cot then that memory would grow distant only to be replaced by huge giants cooing at him. At times he would shit himself, cry and laugh. Every one of his actions followed a cycle. Up until his memory started to return to him when he begun crawling.

He found out he was surrounded by children of different ages and the women taking care of them were too sweet for it to be anything but an orphanage. Surprisingly, Brian and the rest of the kids were treated well. Never did they lack love and affection and it was incredibly hard for the kids to grow up lonely when surrounded by energetic children of the same age everyday. Oh, and his new name was now Brian. He didn't know what to feel about that. He didn't think he looked like a Brian. Sharp chin hidden under baby fat, black hair, green eyes that gave him unique features coupled with the fact that he was half black half white, he looked like a Trevor or an Aiden, Jamal, Chris or Devin.

There was no doubt that Brian was a cute child. He still had access to his memories but he felt…disassociated from the person in his memories. He was still the same ego but the personality was shifting. Slowly. His dream weathered all that and still remained strong however. It felt like a pact he had made to himself. Almost sacred and pure despite it's perverted nature. He didn't possess the hormones to enable him to have any sexual inclinations but to him Natasha was still smoking hot and desirable.

When Brian turned 4 the matron started allowing them to go to the playground and also took them on trips around the city. A city he had found out was New York. The year was 1990. Brian instantly fell in love with the bustling city. Of course a place like New York didn't have a moment where things were silent and the air wasn't the freshest but something about how lively the people were, struck a cord within him. In his previous life he'd come from a small town in the UK. A place that was as average as they came and the only reason they were even remotely known is because of their goat cheese. So the wild concrete jungle was a welcome change to him.

The matron had been also been organizing lessons for the kids since they turned 3 and Brian took to those studies like a fish to water. Everything was just so easy. He didn't lie to himself thinking that he was some kind of genius however. He understood maths because he had memories to reference from. The truly scary ones were the ones who kept up with him despite his advantages. That's another thing he noticed, kids in this world seemed a tad bit smarter than his old one. He'd never had kids so he wasn't that experienced but it was in the way they were quick on the uptake.

He'd tried researching for any clues as to where he was but he never noticed anything out of place. The history of the world closely correlated with his old one. So he hadn't had much luck with that. It was only during one of the trips that they'd gone on, that he had finally known just where he was. The huge Oscorp sign on the largest skyscraper in the city was definitely the clue he'd been looking for. Based on the fact that there was no Stark or Baxter building, then it was pretty obvious that he was  in the Spiderman universe. All he had to do was find Peter Parker, confirm his age and he'd know if he was in the Sam Raimi one or if he was in the amazing Spider-Man universe.

After the trip and the revelations that followed it, Brian ran to his secret place once they got back to the orphanage. The orphanage received good donations and hence they also had a huge back yard for the kids to play. Brian's secret place was a hole in the bark of a huge oak that had unfortunately been struck by lightning and left a stump behind. It wasnt a favorite place for the kids due to how far it was from the swings and slides. To Brian however, there wasnt a better place than it. It was his own brand of a cultivator cave.

He sat down and crossed his legs. His eyes shut as he tried to sink into a meditative trance to cultivate. Ever since regaining his memories, Brian had not slacked off in his cultivation. He had ensured that any free time not spent playing with the other kids or helping out in the orphanage, he was here trying to sense qi. It had taken the better half of a year to even reach where he was. His progress was so miniscule he would have doubted it if he didn't notice some changes.

There was a very very low amount of mystical energy in the atmosphere. It wasn't quite qi. Don't ask him how he knew what qi felt like, it was just some innate sense he possessed. The mystical energy was hard to grasp and felt slippery to his efforts. But lately it had been getting easier. He breathed in while his heart hammered in his chest. To be frank, he didn't know what the hell cultivators spoke about when they said one should keep a calm mind while cultivating. He would always fail as the excitement would become too much. He was freaking cultivating for chrissake!

A small stream of energy mixed in with the oxygen entered his body. Brian didn't possess a cultivation art, so he didn't know how to circulate the energy in his body efficiently. So what he did was to follow his gut. The first cultivator had to have learned everything from scratch right? It wasn't a big deal for him to do so too. Though, he should have really asked for a cultivation art from the blue panel entity. However, that's neither here nor there.

The stream of energy swam inside his body playfully, a tingling feeling invading Brian's mind. He tried to guide it with his intent to his bones and muscles and succeeded. The energy run a course through them...and nothing. There wasn't a sudden surge of strength in his muscles and his bones didn't creak as they were refined and strengthened. His body didn't start emitting a  black sludge of impurities from his skin or orifices and he felt bitter at being lied to by all those cultivation novels!

They always made it seem so- straightforward! Granted he was maybe getting a little impatient from finding out he was in a world with a crazy maniac like Osborn but the fact remains that he needed to find a way to maximize his gains. Maybe...he was thinking of this in the wrong way. He couldn't judge his power according to typical cultivation novels. This world was real and a different approach was needed if he was going to bang Natasha like he'd promised himself. Everything for that Russian spy booty!

"Brian! Brian! Where are you?"

He heard someone calling him and he got up and dusted himself. It wouldn't do for the Matron to see him with dirty clothes, after all today was presentation day. He ran back to the orphanage and joined the rest of the kids. Apart from the many similarities, this world was also different in some ways, for example, orphanages still existed although in his old world they had been replaced by other better alternatives like foster care. The orphanage had a system of personal interaction between the orphans and prospective parents.

Brian didn't know what to feel about that. He was...comfortable with where he was. He wasn't sure he was ready to have another set of parents after his last ones. He hadn't been that close with his parents during his old life but it felt...strange thinking of calling someone else mom and dad. However, being adopted would open a lot of doors for him. He was stumped as he walked inside the door of the orphanage.

He stopped and looked on in surprise. Aunt May? His head supplied as he looked at the woman who looked exactly like Melissa Tomei. Right next to her was a large middle aged man. He had huge strong arms and between the two adults was a small boy who looked to be the same age if not older than Brian. No...no fucking way...

They saw him staring at them and the woman said something to the man who smiled in a little recognition and they walked towards him. She knelt to his level and smiled at him.

"What's your name honey?"

"Brian."

He said absentmindedly. He was still too shocked by the implications...

"We were just waiting for you Brian. Would you like to come and have some ice cream with us?"

'Fuck.Me.'
