9 Promise
"Darien, what would you do if I'm not here anymore?" Clara sat beside Darien.
"Why would you say that? I won't let anything happen to you." Darien stroked Clara's hair and kissed it.
"I'm just saying what if..." Clara looked at Daniel.
"I would rather die than see you gone. I already told you. No one can replace you. You also got our child, we promised to raise him together." Darien looked at Clara and smiled.
"Darien, I'm so lucky to have you." Clara kissed Darien.
"I love you, Clara. Let's raise our son together." Clara and Darien kissed passionately and deeply afterward.
"Promise me, Darien... you will never leave me."
"I will never leave you even if I die." Darien said.
As Darien watched Clara goes to sleep, he stroked her hair gently and kissed her again.
"I love you."
Darien went outside to take some fresh air when Peter asked him to go home since Ada wanted to talk to him.
"Tell Ada I'll come over tomorrow. I need to stay with Clara tonight." Darien told him sternly.
"Mr. Feng came over just now. He can watch over Miss. Clara." Darien still refused.
"Mr. Feng, can I trust you?" Mr. Feng bowed.
"Darien, Miss. Ada wants to see you now." Peter said.
"Mr. Feng, watch over Clara. I'll be back." Mr. Feng bowed.

"Darien you came!! I cannot believe you came!" Ada was so happy to see him.
"Ada, I have to go soon. What's the matter?" Ada played around a bit.
"It should be done by now." Ada looked at Darien happily.
"What do you mean?" Darien said.
"No worries, let's take our time and chat." Ada sat down and drank her tea.
"I have to go now. If you don't wanna talk, I'll get going." Darien was about to leave when Ada hugged him from behind.
"Don't go!" Ada started to cry.
"Darien, don't leave me." Darien was pissed off, "Ada, I need to go. I'm sorry." Darien went outside as Ada stood alone in the house.

"Guys, you know what to do." The guys nodded.

Clara woke up because she heard sounds from the living room.
"Hello? Darien?" Clara got up from her bed and she saw her bedroom door opening.
"Miss. Clara. You need to come with us. Or else we will hurt you." One of the guys said.
"Who are you guys! I will never come with you. Let me go!"
"Guys! Grab her!" Three of the guys came in and started to sexually assault Clara.
"Ugghh stop! Stop! Ahhg! Stop!!" Clara cried.
"You have such a beautiful body." One of the guy said.
"Uh...ahhh.. stop!" Clara's resistence was futile.
She murmured quietly, "Darien, promise me you will be happy. Our child... please protect him." Clara tried to fight back but it was useless...she got hit by a vase on the back of her head.
"Darien... I love you... I'm sorry." Clara slowly closed her eyes.

"Mrs. Li, you're here." Mrs. Li walked over to Clara.
"You guys did well." She paid them each.
"Clara... you will never have Daniel ever again." Mrs. Li laughed and left the room.

"What are you doing, Emily? We cannot sneak in like this." Clarrissa was being cautious.
"It's okay, Clara's room should be upstairs." As they walked into the room, group of guys came out and immediately covered Emily and Clarrissa's mouth.
"If you tell anyone, I will not keep any of you alive." Emily and Clarrissa was so horrified as the guys left the room.
"What did you guys do to her? Her water broke! Call the ambulance!" Emily told Clarrissa.
"Those guys raped Clara... I know it." Clarrissa clenched her fist.
"Clara! Clara! Can you hear me? Clara! Clarrissa, she's losing too much blood!"
"I'll kill those guys." Clarrissa said.

"Please help our friend, she's pregnant." The paramedic nodded.
"Why isn't Darien picking up the phone? Are we at the hospital yet?" Clarrissa drove as fast as she can.

"Patient is not responding. She's in a coma. We need to save the child. Take her to operation room."

"Are you her family members?" The doctors asked.
"We are her friends. We are trying to contact her fiance." Emily said.
"Darien! Where are you! Clara is in the hospital!"
Fifteen minutes later...
"Darien, what took you so long?" Darien ran the doctors.
"Are you the patient's fiance?" Darien nodded.
"Miss. Clara gave birth to a boy but she didn't make it. I'm sorry."

"Clara, you promised me. You will never leave me." Darien cried.
"Please! Let me go in! I need to see her. Please!" Cried Daniel.
"I'm sorry. You cannot see her." The doctor said.
"They must be lying, Clara is not dead! She was fine just yesterday." Emily sobbed.
"It's definitely those guys... I will kill them." Clarrissa said.
"Let's go and comfort Darien... he's in great pain too." Emily said while she wiped her tears.
"Darien, your son... he's smiling." Emily said.
"Mr. Darien, your son." The nurse let Darien hold the baby.
"He looks like Clara... Clara..." Darien started to cry again.
"I will find out whoever did this to you and I will make them pay." Darien clenched his fist.
