3 First meet

As Juliette went to work the next morning, everyone was chatting about the incident from last night.

"Juliette, did you see the CEO? Was he handsome? What was he like?" A young girl who was a bit younger than her asked.

"I'm not quite sure because I didn't actually see him yesterday. He was in the car and he didn't come out or anything." Juliette shrugged her arm as she went back to work on her desk.

"Come on, Juliette! I know you saw him." Another girl wrapped her arm around Juliette's shoulder.

"Stop, guys! I seriously did not see him." Juliette laughed a bit.

"Timothy was cute though. I cannot believe the CEO had a son already." Our manager said that because she is still single.

"Oh yeah, I forgot." Juliette suddenly remembered she needed to drop off something.

"I'll be back a bit, guys! I need to go downstairs."

As Juliette rushed downstairs, thankfully she saw the other manager.

"Mrs. Rose, I forgot to give these to you yesterday because of last night incident." Juliette smiled as she handed over the paper.

"No problem. Thank you. I heard you helped out CEO's son yesterday. The whole building knows it now. You're getting popular." She smiled.

Juliette scratched her head and sighed.

"What should I do?" She thought. Juliette always wanted to work in peace and not causing any ruckus ever since her last job. But now... it's inevitable.

That evening, Juliette went to the address that the CEO sent.

"Welcome, Miss. Juliette. Mr. CEO will be with you shortly." Juliette looked around her, the office building was huge. So this is what the headquarter is like. Juliette waited for another minute or so then a tall figure came out of the office door.

The man was handsome, he had light brown hair with a chiseled face, light brown eyes and he was tall. No wonder her colleagues fell in love at first sight.

Juliette was different from other girls. She doesn't squeal over the CEO like other young girls. She respects him. Juliette only wanted to work hard at her current job.

"Good evening, Miss. Juliette. My name is Darien.Thank you for coming today. You must be tired, right? Have a seat please." Juliette entered his office and sat on the sofa.

The CEO is handsome as they said but for some reasons, her heart started to pound. Juliette didn't know why. She thought, why is my heart pounding so fast? Why do I feel so sad? She shook off the feeling and started to focus.

"Your office is huge. It's at least 5 times bigger than mine." Juliette started the conversation.

"This office is big. But it's pretty empty. I barely use this office much. I just use it for group meetings. I do have a private office upstairs. Would you like a tour?" He asked.

"Sure." Since Juliette is already at his office building.

As they went upstairs, they were barely any people.

"Why is it so empty here?" She asked.

"This is the only place I won't allow others to come in. This room is special to me." Juliette nodded.

"Is it because of your wife?" Juliette was curious.

"She was my fiancée but she passed away when Timothy was born." Darien sounded somber.

"The reason I asked you to come is that you reminded me of my fiancee. You really do look like her. Do you have any other siblings?" Juliette shook her head.

"I'm the only child. I do live with my mother most of the times." Juliette told him.

"She does look like me. What is her name?"

"Clara."

Juliette suddenly got a splitting headache.

"Clara, Clara... wake up.. Clara..." Juliette felt breathless and her chest felt stuffy.

"Juliette!" Darien caught Juliette just in time.

"Are you feeling better now?" Darien placed a cool towel on her head. Juliette nodded.

"Sorry. How long was I out?" Juliette got up weakly.

"Over an hour. Is this your first time?" Darien asked.

"Seems like it. I never had it before." Juliette got up slowly.

"I'll drive you back tonight." Darien offered.

Juliette nodded as they went down to the lobby together.

None did she know, Darien was in her past.
