8 Who the Hell Is Toby?

"The wind howled as it swept over the empty street. Sitting on a cardboard box, a badly mangled pup basked in the moonlight as he cried over the death of his brothers and sisters. As soon as he saw those words, Daniel felt as if though something had been stuffed in his pocket, and when he looked over he could see a bulge by the side of his pants. Curiosity took over Daniel, as he stuffed his hand inside and pulled out a pale, ashy white dog bone. Even Daniel had to admit that he felt a little freaked out by the sudden appearance of a dog bone in his pockets. Nonetheless Daniel eyes narrowed down as he focused on the bone, however he couldn't find anything special about it. It felt like a regular dog bone you could find in any pet shop

What am I supposed to do with this? The phone quite literally threw Daniel a bone, but he wasn't quite sure how to use it. It's not like there is a dog anywhere in the park. Also who the hell is Toby?

The entire situation was giving Dan a headache so he put the dog done down on the bed and started looking at all the other features of the app.

Didn't it say that system missions were unlocked?

Daniel quickly flipped back into the main menu and tapped once again on the missions tab, however unlike the last time there was something under system missions.

System Missions: 1

Night at the Museum - 1 star scenario - The Museum of Stone was once a popular and respected place where artists and sculptors alike could display their masterpieces, however as of recently its been abandoned due to mysterious circumstances. It's also said that there have been rumors of statues moving around in the middle of the night at the old abandoned museum. Why not put those rumors to the test?

*Completing Night at the Museum will unlock this scenario at the haunted house.*

Daily Missions: You can only do one daily mission per day, please check again at midnight.

A couple of things had changed since the last Daniel checked the missions tab. He noticed that the previously locked system missions tab now had one mission 'Night at the Museum', whereas daily missions were now locked until midnight. Daniel also noticed how the phone referred to the 'Night at the Museum' as a 1 star scenario.

What does it mean by 1 star, is it referring to the difficulty? Does that also mean that there will be 2 star, or even 3 star scenarios. It also seems as though I can only do one daily mission per day. I'm also curious as to how one can obtain special missions. It also mentions that if I complete this mission then the 'Night at the Museum' scenario will appear at the haunted house. I wonder if this is how you unlock scenario manager.

Having dealt with all that, Daniel went back to main menu to look at the other options. Since scenario manager was still locked, He tried pressing on the employees tab.

Number of Employees: 1

Elena - Adorable but deadly, the daughter of the manager is a force to be reckoned with. She is somewhat lazy but gets the job done, though you'd be wise not to provoke her unless you want to be hit with a wave of misfortune.

Jack Matthews (locked) - This fierce security guard seems to have a bone to pick with you, and refuses to listen to any of your requests.

Smiling wrily Daniel couldn't help but think back to all the bad things that have happened to Elena ever since he first saw her. Daniel had to admit that was a pretty good description of her. He was also curious as to why Jack didn't count as an employee of the haunted house, but after looking as this description a little closer he realized it might've been because he didn't really act the part. Even Elena would at least listen to him, but Jack just ignored him and did his own thing.

Leaving the app and setting the phone by his side, Daniel decided it was time to call it a night. It was already 9 pm by the time he finished looking through the phone, and Elena had already gone home, not to mention the fact that Daniel was still exhuasted from cleaning up the haunted house. Daniel had plans to turn this into the best haunted house the world has ever seen, however such things were best taken slowly.

11:59 am at the haunted house.

Daniel was fast asleep on the bed, almost as if he didn't have a care in the world. He looked so innocent and sweet, It would've been hard for anyone to think that this was the man who had just recently been released from a mental institution. There was something about seeing a person sleep so happily at a haunted house in the middle of the night that seemed abnormal, but Daniel didn't seem to care. With all that's been happening to him, sleeping in a haunted house seemed rather normal.

Unfortunately for Daniel, there is nothing about this haunted house that is normal. Just as the clock struck midnight, white wispy threads gathered together to form a vague shadow. The white shadow seemed ethereal, as if you could run your hand over it and it would disperse into small transparent clouds. However, when this shadow appeared all the other sounds faded into the background and a chilly wind blew into the room from out of nowhere. All the critters and bugs stopped moving as though they were afraid of something.

The white shadow gathered more threads as it slowly approached Daniel, who was lying helplessly on the bed. Step-by-step it crept closer as its features became clearer, and soon enough sharp fangs began to form around the front of the shadow. The shadowy beast bared its fangs as it prepared to lunge at Daniel, and unlike the last time there wasn't going to be any more interruptions.

Its body lowered closer to the ground, the beast bared its fangs even wider as it lunged into the air right towards the bed. Daniel, completely unaware, was sleeping blissfully on the bed as he dreamed of the promising future he was going to have with his haunted house.
